DBELLEs: Honestly! I have read a lot about those 2 port of entries. I am a silent member here though. I got into the U.S. this morning. Port of Entry was Atlanta, final destination Houston, Texas. I will come back with the full details later as I am jet lagged.
Ha! The almighty Chicago. It has been said here times without number that Chicago and Houston are not for the faint hearted. And some people will come and write here that all poe's are the same. I'm almost certain she would have been able to scale through Jfk if she had tried jfk. I think it's basically how you answer questions at POE not that some re more lenient than others. My wife n daughter went thru Houston and they weren't delayed for one minute. They took along 9k or there about. They want physical cash to cover your hospital bill plus living expenses as well, couple with the fact that husby is in Naija to send more money. |

justwise: Please tell madam to go for vacation as stated to avoid embarrassment at POE, notifying the embassy used to have some values not anymore as it has been abused. She has to face some tough questions at POE and more likely to be deported Just wise, we apparently didn't notify the Embassy of any change in plans, she just carried enough cash and told them at POE that she was going for both child birth and vacation. |

utobaby: Hi lovely mamas! I'm new here n would like to ask few questions for ur assistance. I traveled to states some years back to visit my sister with my family n renewed by visa through Dropbox last year December without knowing I was pregnant. Now I intend to birth in USA n have some questions to ask. 1) Do I need letter of intent from embassy? 2)Do I need doctor's correspondence? 3)Anyone with Idea of any cheap hospital in Xenia Ohio or within Xenia Ohio? I would like to hook up with Ohio mamas n pls enlighten me cos I don't really know much about birthing in USA. Thanks in advance 1) You dont need , DW just landed Houston and we didnt state she was going for child birth when we renewed our visa in Febuary, we apparently stated we were going for vacation in North Carolina. At POE they just asked her what she was going for and she told them child birth and vacation, she wasnt even delayed. Make sure you carry enough cash, plus your debit cards. 2) Always good to carry along all correspondences between the hospital and you |

Oloye12345: CBP: Why are you here? DW: Child-birth and vacation.
CBP: (surprise look on her face) We no longer alllow that here from foreigners. It was actually cancelled last week. DW: Not aware of that. I duly informed the embassy in Nigeria and such info wasn't given to me.
CBP: Why USA? DW: For better healthcare due to complications I had during my previous childbirth
CBP: Why not UK, which is closer to you? DW: I just prefer the US, didn't think about UK at all.
CBP: How much do you have? DW: Bleep (I learnt this here - hehehe)
CBP: for Virginal or CS DW: Virginal
CBP: Your estimate should be based on the highest quote which is CS DW: Whichever case, I have sufficient funds.
CBP: Again, we have cancelled childbirth here by foreigners just last week. I will just have to allow you in for a week bla bla DW: Was not aware of that. I have sufficient funds and no plan whatsoever to use any form of insurance. **at this point, DM started feeling bad and CBP asked her to go** Were they serious they have cancelled child birth in the US |

Justwise, just renewed visa and stated we are going for vacation at my sister's in NC, but apparently madam is meant to go for childbirth in Houston. is it possible i notify the embassy down the embassy of change in plans. visa is regular B1/B2. as we want to pay for the medical bills before she leaves. You know immigration can be funny at their airport over there. |

texazzpete: See village land that they said they paid N13 billion for.
The amount of theft in the past administration was stratospheric sha. You are basically the only one here with a reasonable post. Virtually every other person keeps posting blindly. The past administration would have drained the economy. Corruption at its peak. Howon earth will you spend N13 billion for land purchase in Delta state. Are they buying 13,000 acres of land. How much is land in that region. Bloody thieves that almost crippled the economy. |

At window 1 VO: where are u going in Us Response: am going to Chicago in illinios VO: what are you going there for Response: I want to visit ny cousin over there. VO:how long are u staying there Response: just for 2 weeks VO: what do u do heere Response: I work as a manager in a cleaning compaany VO: how much do u earn Response: 180k afta tax VO: Are you married? Response: Yes with a kid. VO: have you travelled before? Response: No. VO: Put your fingerprint there. VO: Thank you for coming you can re-apply some other time. Take this paper and read it thank you. Response: thank you @Op you should have said you are going for holiday. Also you should have mentioned the name of your company and i guess you should have stated you wanted to spend 4 weeks, sounds more realistic for a first timer. When they asked if you were married you didnt have to say you had a kid because you werent asked that. Your salary as well you didnt have to say N180k after tax, you should have just stated the full amount. Yankee visa is easy to get once you know your facts and always go study your application form properly before the interview date. |

simplynola: What nonsense talk are u making? you go to sit down in a conference and they coarse you with talks and all you do is nod and clap. Get it man, what have they done so far with oil money? see what Dubai is doing with the little they have, you sit there talking. When USA was buying, did they revive all the moribond sectors? Is it not because they see that no money will come from oil in the nearest future that they will loot that they are now facing agriculture. The other time the former governor of Ogun state, Gbenga Daniel discovered he will rake billions by exporting cassava to China and other countries that he neglected the citizens who were crying for shortage of cassava in the states for their own consumption and sales? Yet he went away with the proceeds. The developed countries are developing technologies that will convert maize to fuel and the FAO and UN has been predicting scarcity and food crisis all over the world should they continue with such innovation. Why is the mining and other sectors neglected. If tomorrow they discover that coal brings in billions, government will jump quickly to develop the sector. And for your information am a real mechanized farmer with 2 hectres running for me, so keep your advice ok? They are seeking low interest rate government funds to cater for farmers till the end of the chain . if i may chip in the summit was organized by CAN, COPAN, CFAN and CEAN. Trying to create awareness in cocoa so government can create some intervention funds. Maybe you need a one on one with both ministers to know what they are trying to do in reviving the agric sector as well as support industrialists. The summit wasnt just about the funds, it was based on adding value to our cocoa, mind you the westerners buy beans at a ridiculously cheap rate n sell the finished products at exorbitant prices, hence everyone on the value chain scraps for lil change for sustenance. New policies will be put in place as well as funding, which in total will create jobs for the mass and help in growing the cocoa business. why dont you welcome this development as a positive way forward instead of criticizing from your backyard or farmland. |

simplynola: Now its the turn of cocoa, before it was oil after they impoverished Nigerians and enriched themselves, now its going dry, no more customers. its the turn of cocoa, beverage prices will start to skyrocket, Nigerians think their leaders want the best for them, they start to applause them not knowing the innovation is only to keep them wealthy,a tin of milo or bournvita will go for N6,500 soon, Eruku Oshodi(cocoa powder) will sell for N3,000, Nigerians will start protesting the removal of subsidy on cocoa. Cocoa is not like oil that flows everyday, it takes cocoa tree 3- 5 years to yield a crop. The oil that has been existing before now, what has been the benefit to Nigerians all along, now its cocoa.. of what benefit please? Tears run dry! Mind you CRIN has developed cocoa seed that takes just about 2years berfore harvesting. if you were at the 2014 2dayscocoa summit which ended yesterday, all the major exporters, processors and all other stake holders were present, Aganga and Adewunmi are positive drivers which Adewunmi did in rice so he can do with cocoa, mind you presently after oil, cocoa is our 2nd largest source of revenue. Our oil is drying up, USA hasn't bought oil from us since may so our present major buyers now are india and china of which china has discovered oil in large quantity. So federal govt is doing all in its power to resuscitate agriculture which will soonest be our major source of revenue. My friend go and get land in your village and start planting instead of you criticizing and talking off point. |
