Hello. Please when filling the UK visa application, what address can one put in? I don't intend staying in the university's student apartment and I don't have the address of anyone to stay with in the UK. Can't book hotel or Airbnb because they are all requesting for card details.

You can use another bank but I will advise you to use someone that run a GTB account because of the verification process. They will need to contact your reference to verify some information about you. It is faster

I will recommend GTB. You only need 2 reference letters to open a dom account and its Zero balance. More so, you can get their $$ card within 24 to 48 hours.

Must the references be GTB account holders?

If you’re talking of booking your test and doing it on the same day, then no, I don’t think it’s possible right now coz the crowd is much.
So you’ll book your test for a later date, and yes you can book early starting from 7am. If you don’t live in Lagos and your appointment time is early, I suggest you get to Lagos a day before coz you might not meet up.

Just pick your number one choice and put. If you don’t get the offer or you change your mind, then you can go for a reprint but it costs like 8k. Getting a test date now is the most important thing coz the crowds are increasing and dates are getting farther

Yes, if you finish your test early enough. If not, it’s till the next day.
For example, my appointment was by 7:30, I finished by 10am and I got my result by 2pm. Someone who tested with me, her appointment was by 9am, she finished around 12noon but they asked her to come back the next day for her result. Note that IOM closes by 4:30pm.

From my experience, IELTS is not hard, there are YouTube channels that teach on how to study for it, my advice is that you do a lot of practice tests (you’ll find them online). 6.5 is just slightly above the mid mark, you should be able to hit it if you practice enough.

Some school don't even have space for January 2023. They are asking students to apply for September 2023 session. E.g Bradford

Schools like that are schools with really cheap fees like Bradford and Hull. But there are hundreds of schools in UK so it’s to do a lot of research and plan accordingly.

B. Then your living expenses £1023 x 9 months (if your school is outside London)
C. Your fiancé’s living expenses £680 x 9 months
Add A, B, C together. Convert from £ to Naira on OANDA. Add 500k to 1m to give room for fluctuations in FX.
Other costs you need to budget for include visa fees, IHS, TB test fee for both you and your fiance.

Some schools allow you to defer but some don’t. So you’ll need to check and confirm. Even if you have to re-apply for January 2023, you’ll have enough time to prepare. So again, no need to panic.

You can calculate it, get the total figure in pounds, go to oanda.com and convert from pounds to naira.

Please go to CBN website (Google it) and check if the bank is licensed by CBN. If yes, you can use it, if no, then don’t.

Yes these are the right accounts. You should have gotten an email stating your appointment date and time when you booked

It’s best to do one that specifically addresses the DoB on the WAEC, stating it’s an error and the DoB on your Passport is the correct one

I would appreciate guidance on the below:

I have an unconditional offer, waiting to pay the initial deposit (The deposit is 5000).
School has sent me several emails to pay deposit so i can get CAS early enough.

However,

Used my WAEC for English lang requirements.
DoB on WAEC does not match that of Passport ( 2 years diff).
The school did not flag this as an issue.

But my concern is that UKVI may flag since it will be stated on CAS that WAEC was used as proof for English language. And I will be required to also submit WAEC for Visa Application.
And if UKVI flags this and I am denied, ..I will lose the 5000 initial deposit.

What would you advise?

There’s no demerit, the only requirement is that the bank is registered with CBN, you can go to CBN website and check if the bank is registered.

You can’t do your test on the same day you walk in, not this period they’re dealing with a lot of applicants. Go there first and book a date for you and your dependents. Then once you’ve gotten a date, make payment. They don’t accept cash.

We’ve said it here several times, if you’re having issues booking TB test, you either need to send an email or go physically. They’re dealing with a lot of applicants, I did my test last week and we were over 700 for UK alone (minus US and Canada o). That’s high for just one day, imagine what they are going through.
Please just go there in person, if you are not in Lagos/Abuja, send an email.
