Chelsea goal: Oh deary deary me, that is an absolute horror show from Pompey keeper David James. Deco's header forwards is tame and should be easily cleared by the veteran, but he swings and misses allowing Didier Drogba to stroll through and prod into an empty net. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/8585621.stm |

honeric01: From your wiki.
In the 1970s and 1980s Enyimba struggled to make a notable impact as the traditional powerhouses such as Enugu Rangers, Shooting Stars, Bendel Insurance and local rivals Iwuanyanwu Nationale dominated Nigerian football. Enyimba's rise to fame began in 1990 when the Professional League was inaugurated. More laughter. . .so we can convidently say that your team is a completely washed out club. Dominated in the 80's. . .what happened since then? With "all" your domination back then what did you do? 2 League Trophies. . .last time was 1979!!!! Bet you were not even born then!!! Check this, Enyimba went even further than just stay as local champions (5 league Trophies). We got the CL trophy. Not once but TWICE! |

honeric01: yea, i meant to say 2008/2009. see, no one is saying your team is not the most successful outside the league, but within the league, they are just ordinary like the rest, what am i trying to say is that their time has passed 03-06, now's the time for another club to take the limelight. Almighty Enyimba got based o 2 away in the confed cup to petrol atletico while K.Pillars drew 2 2 with Almighty Al ahly, you see what i am trying to say? this season, they are as ordinary as most of the local clubs.
anyways sentiments aside, Enyimba is a good team, won laurels too and have done Nigeria proud (03-06) but they should stop living on past glory just like you stated, let them also go out and do us proud just like Warri wolves, Pillars and Heartland are doing so far. I laugh in vernacular! Their time has passed? Now lets see. . .ordinary you say?! We have won at least a trophy since 01 till date. (bar 06 & 08) Which other club comes close? 5 Premier League Titles Sold out crowds. . .home and away We have 2 CL trophies (something no team in Nigeria could do) Currently we TOP the table Nah, that is NOT ordinary. BTW, wetin Heartland & Warri Wolves do that Enyimba has not eclipsed? |
Sports › Re: Nigerian League Fan Thread: Enter D Place N Know Every by FBS: 2:04pm On Mar 23, 2010 |
honeric01: Currently, you're topping the table on goals difference because K. pillars are all on your biz, we are in Div 1 for the first time just like when Enyimba got relegated too (maybe u didn't know that before now). We were relegated but got back. How good is that? Your team may not get that far you know. Last time I checked the log we are 2 points CLEAR! honeric01: We are talking about the league here, you have not won anything since 2007/08 so make we hear word, yes, outside the league, they are the most successful (for winning the CL) twice. we also have laurels on our belt too, though not the CL but something closer too. We are talking about Nigerians clubs in general. We won the CL twice and we remain the only Nigerian side to do so. Until your team does that. . .I'm afraid, nothing for you as per seniority level. The CL is the BIGGEST Club football prize. Your team don win am? NO! Wetin I dey talk sef. . .Enyimba has won more trophies than your team. Here is another interesting stat from WIKI. In 2003, Enyimba won the best team in Africa award while coach Kadiri emerged the best coach. In 2004, the club retained the best coach award while the club’s first choice goalkeeper, Vincent Enyeama won the Champions league player of the year. These two Champions league victories in the hands of North African teams, plus the second CAF Super Cup against Accra Hearts of Oak finally brought Enyimba to the limelight of African football. The team recently signed a $300,000 uniform deal with Joma. The Enyimba stadium records a sell-out in all its matches, both local and international. 2008–09 seasonThe team finished third in the Premier Leaague with 64 points. On July 12, Enyimba defeated Sharks FC by a lone goal at the Teslim Balogun Stadium to lift the 2009 Federation Cup and qualified for the CAF Confederation Cup 2010. |

honeric01: You see you? you are contradicting yourself, you said this ""hehehe. . .That was in the past. . .history wont win you any trophies. I think it's pathetic when people cling to history.""
Now you are saying this ""It's like saying Real Madrid na rubbish club because they won nada last season."".
Abeg, can you stick to one? my club played the final of 2006/2007 FA cup, lost to Dolphins in a penalty shootout. i already posted our achievements. That was in your reference to "because we did not win anything last season" And No I'm not clinging to history and my stand is this. . .as of today (today 23.03.10) we top the table while your team dey for division 6. Besides, how many Nigerian teams have won the CCL? Now do you get the picture? |

slimshay: Slowly but surely Chelsea is now recognizing the inherent downside of their policy so far. Sincerely it is not really about the fact that perhaps you can win this premier league season , it is more about the fact that without spending a droppings load of money, you CANT even sniff the next one.
What people refer to as Chelsea winning character is more like reputation. It can only carry you so far. After seeing both on field and off-field happenings over the past weeks everybody believes Chelsea is there for the taking. And there goes the reputation.
Now Chelsea is considering building again even if it will mean going a few seasons withut trophy. Well you can look at the bright side of it. Now you will know who your real fans are. I'm trying hard to find where you got that info from? |
Sports › Re: Nigerian League Fan Thread: Enter D Place N Know Every by FBS: 1:21pm On Mar 23, 2010 |
honeric01: Then if we should ignore history, that means Enyimba is just as ordinary as any clubsite now, because 2003/04, 05/06 is history too and shouldn't be used as reference. Since 2 years ago, what has Enyimba won? even the just concluded season, what did Enyimba win? LOL! It's like saying Real Madrid na rubbish club because they won nada last season. Besides you will agree with me that 05/06 is much more closer than 1846! When was the last time your club won anything? 1847? |

honeric01: I know bro, but i just don't want to post ink unless they ask. na me and you/semid dey share info wit eachother so no need to dey post link up and down like pikin wey just gain access to internet. you also should have posted your own link and not just use wiki. alone as a source without quoting the complete link. You will be surprised at how many people visit this thread. Some just don't post. The point I'm making though is this and as you can see, I put wiki. . .i.e no be my write am o! straight forward. No one will ask for a source. You on the other hand copied and posted without any footnote whatsoever as to the origin of the article. I would/could have thought you wrote it yourself. It's like you are taking credit for something you did not write. Ain't no harm in adding/posting a link or should we say a "footnote". That is the norm. You will soon find out. honeric01: I posted my club info and you've seen our achievement, we have provided alot of players for the national team and we are known to do stuffs like that BTW: When did Enyimba even start winning laurels that una no go let us hear word? Yes, in the last 10yrs, they have won more trophies than any other league club but where were they prior to 10 year ago? hehehe. . .That was in the past. . .history wont win you any trophies. I think it's pathetic when people cling to history. At any rate We are the ones making history now. We run this country (Nigeria ) Commot for road. . .The Peoples Elephant dey come. . .! Nothing in those posts suggests kickoff or whatever. You don't expect us to do guess work. The way you posted it, "some" may assume you wrote it yourself. YOUTH CUP REPORT: CHELSEA 4 BLACKBURN ROVERS 0 (AGG: 5-0)Chelsea youth team are through to our second FA Youth Cup Final in three years following a brilliant Monday evening performance. The Academy Under 18 side dominated throughout as we hosted Blackburn in the second leg of the semi-final. The first finished 1-0 in our favour. In front of an impressive and noisy crowd at Stamford Bridge, the Blues produced some beautiful football to overcome a stuttering Blackburn side. Goals came from a Jacopo Sala brace, added to by Marko Mitrovic and Gokhan Tore. http://www.chelseafc.com/page/LatestNews/0,,10268~2002390,00.html |

FIA invites new teams to enter 2011 championshipThe FIA has requested expressions of interest from new teams who may wish to participate in the 2011 world championship. The Formula One regulations allow for 13 teams, meaning there is currently one slot available for next season. According to the sport’s governing body, the ‘overall long-term interests of the championship’ will determine which candidates are ultimately selected. One or more ‘reserve’ entrants may also be identified to fill any 2011 vacancies. The precise terms of the selection process will be laid out to interested parties next month. http://www.formula1.com/news/headlines/2010/3/10550.html |
