coolier:Oh definitely YES!!! |
baybbootz:Call Jemila to find out. ![]() |
tkb417:But we are not playing today . Not until April and like you know, anything can happen before then. Why do I sense a very serious upset for you. ![]() You certain you wanna bet? ![]() |
yes its definitely a gender role reversal especially in a society where upkeep of the house is usually the womens job who mostly stay at home. since the woman works from morning to night, and the man stays at home, hes expected to at least keep the house clean/make something for the wife to eat when she comes home tired. taking of a child is not a disability that allows person to use it as an excuse not at least keeping the house clean.
If you look at it from that aspect yes, but also have in mind that in most Nigerian homes, you have what we call house helps innit? So, if you have a house help to do the cooking, washing and all other stuff, what stops a man from taking care of his own baby? ![]() Again, this is NOT a gender role reversal. maybe just a role reversal. ![]() coolier:Ok maybe not for 6 months. . .3 months won't be bad. ![]() I feel they will both appreciate each other more. |
While Egyptians rolled out the drums and spread the red carpets to receive their heroes in the national team who returned to the country after their successful defence of their Africa Cup of Nations at the 27th edition of the Finals in Angola, Nigeria’s Super Eagles who won the bronze had to sneak into Lagos in the early hours of Monday like orphans. Last Sunday in Luanda, the boys of Hassan Shehata won the final match 1-0 against Ghana to complete a trio of victories in the series. They arrived Cairo with President Hosni Mubarrak personally leading the cheer-party from the airport. As for the Nigeria international side, they were so unsung, not even the Copper Bullets of Zambia who they vanquished in the quarterfinal stage of the competition got the kind of snub they did, from their own countrymen. Instead, Kalusha Bwalya’s countrymen celebrated their national team, the Chipolopolo as if they were the winners of the cup on their return to Lusaka at the weekend. Even Nigeria’s next-door neighbours, Benin Republic, whose team, the Squirrels failed to go past the group stage had the privilege of a chartered flight to take the players and officials back to Cotonou. One of the Super Eagles’ players who spoke on condition of anonymity yesterday bemoaned the lack of respect accorded the team despite meeting the semifinal target set for Coach Shaibu Amodu. “I feel bad that we are being treated like failures. What would have happened if we had crashed out in the group stage? Were Nigerians going to kill us or send us to the Kirikiri Prisons?” fumed the senior player in a telephone chat. The player queried why the team had to travel on a scheduled flight when other countries were sending chartered planes to bring back their teams. “Before we left for Angola we were told that money was not going to be the problem of the team. We were made to understand that The Presidency has empowered the Presidential Task Force (PTF) to the tune of N800m. How much will it cost both the NFF and the PTF to give us better treatment?” he queried. Although he refused to be dragged into the face-off between the NFF and the PTF, the Europe based professional warned that unless there is a change of attitude at that level to the Super Eagles’ issues, Nigeria could continue to see situations in which the team continue to under-achieve despite the potentials of the country.” Members of the Presidential Task Force led by Gov. Rotimi Amaechi of Rivers State went to Angola to offer support to the team. But after watching the Eagles fail in their first game against Egypt (3-1) and laboured to a ‘Thank God we are over it’ 1-0 victory over Benin Republic, they returned home with harsh words for Amodu and his boys. NFF would later go on through its image department, describe the presence of the PTF members as distraction, although it would later retracted that statement. With the NFF now claiming to be solely responsible for Nigeria’s qualification for the World Cup in South Africa, the game’s followers may wonder how all the monies raised by the fund would be used for. http://www.thisdayonline.com/nview.php?id=165654 |
we have been culturally conditioned not to accept this kind of stuffs. women in our society are cultured to be take of things like this. homemakers and caring of the children are the womens job, while men work. not all everyone will accept the gender role reversal.
Yes, not everyone but you will be surprised that many may . This not exactly a gender role reversal. It's not like you have to "wash the dishes", "cook the food" while your wife is away - This is more about spending quality time with your very own flesh and blood. But again I see your point - the cultural set-up may hinder the acceptance. |
tkb417:Market is cool. 7 points out of 9. Not bad. In fact very good. We will do just what Aston Villa did to you at OT. You still wanna bet? ![]() |
definitely wouldnt work in nigeria or be socially/culturally accepted. the keywords? "shame" "unafrican" "silly" "chauvinism" etc imagine a man telling one of his male friends, "bro am on paternity leave oo" they will laugh his head off, the embarrassment and shame for even uttering the words sef would be worse than serving the leave.
Sorry but I do not agree to this. Now bite me. ![]() |
kanayo74:Perhaps you missed my comment. I asked when will this sort of "development" reach Nigeria. If it ever will. Read well. Why is it not a Nigerian thing? Ndipe:Wetin concern me with USA. but I understand that you can apply for STD - It generally covers half to two-thirds of your salary, and lasts for 6 weeks. |
Interesting to know when he is going to play or will they just later sell him off like DS? |
Inter President Massimo Moratti Latest Victim In Racist Attack Inter president Massimo Moratti has become the latest victim of a racist attack after his villa was vandalised by criminals. La Repubblica reports vandals sprayed the words "no more negros" on the gates of Moratti's home in the province of Lecco, near Milan. Speculative coverage suggests the incident is linked with the arrival of Kenyan international McDonald Mariga, who joined the club from Parma on Monday, though local media said the writing first appeared last week following Inter's 2-0 win over Milan in the derby. It's not the first time the club have been affected by such problems. Mario Balotelli has often been a victim of racism this term, with some of the abuse coming from his own fans. Inter have not spoken publicly about the latest attack. http://www.goal.com/en/news/10/italy/2010/02/02/1772920/inter-president-massimo-moratti-latest-victim-in-racist |

nateevs:Now I know why I felt like I did yesterday. I just knew something could go wrong even before the match. To me, this was just like the match against Wigan expect that at least on this occasion we got a point. As regards, Ivanovic, I kept calling him 'cos he was shyte in the last 2 matches. Aside the near perfect cross which Ballack failed to convert, he did nothing for the 90 mins + he played. Is this because he is certain of his RB position or he is just tired? Is JC serious about his demand for a higher salary? with this sort of display? I'm giving him just 1 more match to get it right. (as if to say na me dey pay im salary. )Maybe Uncle Carlo could have started with the winning team and then DD coming off the bench? But then he was not even on the list when we struggled to beat Burnley. Ok, I'm not playing the blame game but heck, we cannot afford to drop points anymore and allow manure and those useless arses (a.k.a garri fc) to start yarning opata. Truth is we created far more clear cut chances than Hull last night. DD's header, Terry's, ballack's, lamps. . . But what is it with set pieces that we cannot defend them? Do we just lose focus during that period or what? With a win on sunday against garri fc, the confidence will be back and who says we won't be motivated enough for a win? |
^^^ What did you post there? It's hard to read or are you posting via your phone? If yes, then my bad. ![]() |
Blessed be Thy Holy Name Dear Lord. My family and I will praise you forever and ever. Amen. |
Where is the OP? ![]() |
Ibime:On that, I'm with you. We played rubbish today save some individual flashes of brilliance. I hope we don't play like this on sunday against those useless arses. |
I hope this is the last match we will play like this. Rubbish. Rubbish. Rubbish. Why did I even watch this match sef? |
Don't tell me we are dropping points here? ![]() |
nateevs:Honestly he has been. Watch him very well. Hunt is making a mess of him. Serious. Especially when defending. What lead to the first goal? Are we switching formation now? |
Brave effort from DD! And he is up! |
I'm not impressed with Ivanovic for 2 matches now. Na wetin do am? JC on for Ballack. doyin13:Oh yes he used to be. Who was taking free kicks before DD? |
Whatever happened to Lamps classic free kicks? |
Maybe we need to change formation? I don't mind if we have to remove DD or whoever. |
What is this? Are we saving the energy for them arses? |
What is it with set pieces that we cannot defend? |
I expect a better performance in the second half. We need to bash Hull. We need to win this match. |
nateevs:I wonder o. ![]() DD was brilliant not to even react. |
olabukola:Back to sender. |
DD! Oh Yes he is BACK! |
