WEEK 9 ACTION: ENYIMBA GO TOP AS TOP THREE FAIL TO WIN
Enyimba International FC took advantage of the draws recorded by clubs in their week 9 fixtures on Saturday, to leapfrog them to top place with a 4 – nil routing of Ranchers Bees of Kaduna in a game that notched up the highest score line of the weekend.
The “People’s Elephant” are the only side still unbeaten in the premier league this season with 17 points in 9 games, a point better than in-form Kwara United, who held Ocean boys to a 1 - 1 draw in Benin.

In other week 9 encounters, Wikki Tourists of Bauchi were 2 – 0 winners over neighbours Gombe United at the Tafawa Balewa Stadium in Bauchi, while Kaduna United compounded the woes of Sharks FC of Port Harcourt with a 1 – 0 home victory in Kaduna.

Dolphin FC also of Port Harcourt however improved their standings by beating Niger Tornadoes 2 – 1, to move up to mid-table.

Other games played over the weekend ended in draws.

NFF Consider Two Eaglets For Eagles Namibia Camp
Complete Sports can report today that top officials of Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, are piling huge pressure on Super Eagles chief coach, Shaibu Amodu to include a few members of the Golden Eaglets team that won the silver medal at the recently held FIFA U-17 World Cup hosted by Nigeria last month.

The NFF officials,Complete Sports gathered wants some of the these players to train with the Eagles in Namibia and gather valuable experience that will come in handy in future national assignments.

A decent source at the NFF revealed that Amodu was swayed by the argument put forward by the NFF top shots including Sanni Abdulahi Lulu who,Complete Sports recalls practically forced erstwhile Eagles manager,Berti Vogts to include some members of the 2007 gold-winning Eaglets team in Eagles preparation for Ghana 2008 Africa Nations Cup.

Two players,Sanni Emmanuel who emerged the highest goal scorer at the championships and the boy many Nigerians have labelled the ‘new Sunday Oliseh’,Ramon Azeez topped the list of players that will make the trip to Namibia

@Yousouph, ha . . .ok I see.
As for the coach, that's what we all think is right. His performance at the Nations Cup should determine his future.

Obiora Nwankwo Is Hot Cake. Agents Battle Over F/Eagles Star

Despite the seeming poor run of the Flying Eagles at the FIFA U-20 World Cup in Egypt, midfield ace, Obiora Nwankwo looks to be catching the attention with a flurry of agents and European club scouts on his heels.

The interest in the light-skinned player has even led to a face-off between two Nigerian licensed agents.
Nwankwo, whose registration is owned by ECO Football Club of Lagos, but featured for Nigerian Premier League side, Wikki Tourist, in the 2008/2009 season in Nigeria on loan, had started out Egypt 2009 in central defence for the Eagles before coach Samson Siasia moved him into midfield in the same game against Venezuela.

Complete Sports now have it on good authority that not a few clubs in Europe have taken more than a passing interest in his silky ball-playing skills, so much so that Italy based Nigerian agent, Sam Udeagbulam, has been accused of trying to poach the boy.

Peter Ejiasi, another Nigerian agent, who is based in Spain told Complete Sports:

“I’m the official agent of Obiora Nwankwo and I want to tell you that any other person that claims to represent the boy is a blatant liar.

“I can’t discuss about clubs interested in a player in the middle of a competition but what I have to say is that it is absolutely wrong for an agent that says he is licensed to start talking to a player that he does not have a contract with after that player had told him that he has an agent.

“That is what this Sam guy did and for me, doing such on the eve of an important match for the team is bad because you are going to distract the player.

“If he or any other agent for that matter, has something for the boy he can come to me and we can discuss, but the player should not be distracted with talk about interest from clubs until after the competition.”

Udeagbulam, who was said to have been introduced to the player by one of the coaches of the team, could not be reached for his own side of the story as he did not pick when Complete Sports placed a call to his mobile phone.

--------

I remember telling one blind bat that he indeed started as a CB for the flying Eagles.
Anyways, the guy is good and should ultimately move to the SE.

supereagle:
Since Westhanhof left Naija which other team has succeded in coaching. He succeded in Nig that time becos of his access to Aso Rock. Lest I forgot , it took five years before he could achieve what he achieved for Nigeria. In 1990 ACN, he lost 5-1 t0 Algeria. If a local coach had that result he ,would have been sacked.
Our local coaches if given total support, will get more for Naija. Remember, anytime Egypt meets Nigeria in ACN, they always go home from first round.
I suggest that NFF draft Kalika into that coaching crews, he knows our boys very well, he has been assisting Siasia, if he comes in,it will be difficult for any team to defeat Nigeria in 2010 , Forget about foreing Coach ,it will be foolishness for NFF to go for one now. the time is short for him to understudy our boys.
How and why did you arrive at the conclusion that I wanted one? undecided

And what team fits that bill?No position is locked down now so every team's got to be on their toes.
Tha's precisely the point. If he was that good and known for it then he would have been taking them.
Check the table to see the teams that fits the bill.

@Emp
Nah, I really don't think Webb had a fair game. I had problems with his calls.
It's like he was partially blind to City's foul play.

As for Bluefever, I'm still waiting for her. grin
It's her turn to take some good 'ol yabbing.

Carlotti made a mistake.  .  .in 1st half it was obvious that Ballack and Deco were the weak links in midfield. He did nothing about it till the 70th minute or so, after City were already a goal up.
Why didn't he make his subs in time? Just might've changed things.

Anywayz, still doesn't erase the fact that Joe Cole blew some great 1st half chances, and then Lampard's penalty miss. Chelsea really don't have any valid excuse for the loss.
Are you serious?  shocked
The lad did not even play at all. Crizzle, what are you snuffing nowadays?  grin cheesy

3 players missed penalties today - Fabre-nal, Lamps and CR9.

City will always e fired up against the ig teams,i wouldn't e surprised if they play draw next week against some shitty team again.
And it's  shocked they have only lost once(and dubiously too  grin) this season.
And after WH nko? I'm not sure he played any since then.
The way I see it, it is the 3rd, 4th and 5th placed teams that should be worried.

@Emp,
I like Uncle Carlo. . .
Me I give my support to whoever is in charge besides, he has managed to kick some butts already (arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester United).

A manager will always make mistakes as well as the players. I think he (Uncle Carlo) messed up with the formation today. That's all.

Tevez scoring a freekick was something unimaginable grin. Funny enough after that he started taking their set pieces.
Who knows maybe that is Sparkys new WOMD. grin
