It's not a problem at all. My passport is in my father's name while hubby and daughter's are in their own father's names -na all man dey answer his papa name these days . Never had any issue with any embassy, in fact, I don't remember any consular officer asking any question concerning names on passport. You may however go with your marriage and child's birth certificates as proof in case anyone raises an eyebrow. Goodluck to you all. Rofytrust: Gud mrng house, pls I and my 3yr old boy applied for B1/B2 US Visa last year july though I was 7month pregnant then which i beleive that was why we were denied but now we are planning to apply for family ,I ,my husband and our kids but on my passport its my dad's surname that is on it and i'm really concern about it, I need advice on it pls |

Everything on point especially #7. No need to bring visiting your cousin into the application in order not to unnecessarily complicate things with getting his utility and other documents. Just acknowledge that you have a relation(s) in the UK as the case may be. #5 from my experience, if you are attending a paid event, the embassy would expect you to pay your registration fees and get confirmation of same. First time I applied for a UK visa, the organizers (BCS) issued letters to all authors of accepted abstracts to quickly facilitate our visa processing, but the embassy contacted me some days after submission to VFS requesting that I pay the conference fee and scan and send the confirmation of payment to a designated email. I doubt if the organizers would even issue you a visa invitation letter unless you pay the required fees -these Europeans like money pass anything. ekpotek: 1. You need up six months of employment and pay slips. If you have that you’re okay. 2. No. it will only count if you provide evidences of previous employment and explain why you left in a cover letter or additional information section. 3. Yes 4. No need, if your current employer is deducting tax and is reflected in your pay slip. It’s not your fault, if your previous employer was not remitting your tax. 5. You can pay if you are sure of getting a refund if your visa is not granted. 6. Not enough as you must include your dorm bank account to show the ECO that you have enough funding for the course and stay in the UK. The ECO will also be interested in sources of funding of your dorm account, so be ready to explain this in a cover letter. 7. Yes if you plan to stay with him. He will also need to send you his utility bill as proof of address, and biodata of his passport. If you have no plan to staying with him, then you do not need any invitation. But disclose your cousin in your application as someone you know in the UK. I would advise that you leave visiting your cousin and just go for your course. The visa is 6 months multiple entry, you can always use visa to visit your cousin before the visa expired. Or visit him without necessarily bringing him into the application. 8. Yes it will matters, the ECO will need to be satisfied why your choice of UK and not another country for such a course. With on travel history, the ECO will need solid convincing that this course is important to you and your career. A letter of support from your company or the course organizer will be required here. 9. Marriage certificate, birth certificate of children, family photos etc to show relationship and family life. 10. C of O, Land survey document, building permits, NEPA and Water bills in your name.
Feel free to ask questions as we are all here to help each other. |

What about getting registered and invited to the event? If the agent got that as well, there is every possibility that he may have packaged some other persons for the same event. Please stay away from agents henceforth. Lamique: Yes,an agent processed my application and got me my date way before i stumbled on this thread and got to know better. But even at that,I ensured there was no lie and also said nothing to the contrary during the interview. |

Given that both the US and Canada share applicants' info, it may or may not -depends on how you handle it. Also if the VO is convinced about your ties and intent. Now if I were you, in the relevant portion of the application I would state clearly why I was banned by Canada and provide TRUE information on the application in general. Salaries owed employees are paid as arrears. So I suggest you pay the three months at once and then let the payslips breakdown show current month's salary and arrears for each month in addition to all the allowances and deductions. Youngpablo180: Hello house...I need a little advice from those with better experience... As a company owner..would the embassy see it as money lodgment if you pay yourself 3 months salary(Dec,Jan and Feb) together in same day...starting each payment with “salary for Dec” “salary for Jan”
I’m asking so as not to fall into the category of money lodgement refusal... |

I think you should be ok this time around with your travel history. Just be honest about your previous refusals and address the reason for the discrepancy as you have done in the bolded. All the best bertv66: Hello Just wise and family My name is Al and I need your divine intelligence on my next Uk application. I applied in 2011 for a tourist visa but was refused based on the fact that I didn’t show how my fees was funded. In 2013 I applied again to attend a friends graduation in Sunderland but was refused again based on the fact that I didn’t state I had any Dependent kid. So there was discrepancies in my 2011 application and the 2013. I only didn’t state in my first application because my son was been catered for by my mum. Fast forward 2014 I have travelled to the US Dubai India 9 Schengen countries . I have my own company now and a charity foundation.
I would be grateful if you could help me tackle the discrepancies btn my previous application.

Yes. So long as the booking condition accepts payment on site at the property, it would be stated in the confirmation. Yes, you have to include the booking confirmation with you supporting documents as proof of accommodation in the UK. Pharmacology: Hello Nairalanders, please I need clarification on this, is a hostel booking with no prepayment on booking.com sufficient for UK visit visa application, and should I include a copy of the hostel booking to my supporting documents, contrary to tge guidelines on documents you must not submit on the ukvi site. Your inputs will be cherished. Thank you |

Yours is cool. Unlike the OP who clearly stated the he didn't indicate the family members in his application in the first place blank: Nah. I stated all my immediate family there. I use a hotel booking for the application but put my sister's address at the POE. Sometimes, I might stay with a family friend and put their address. Plans change. |

Any experienced person can always tell if you are under the influence of something... So yes, it can be detected during interview. But its based on your body language and not some flashlites ezyk: Can illicit drug intake be detected during visa interview? Could it be from the flash light? |
Travel › Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 3 by fcisca: 9:49pm On Feb 17, 2018 |
You mean you stated in your application that you had no relation in the UK and ended up staying at their address? Pray they don't ask you at the POE though. That is an outright case of giving false information during application and it attracts deportation and ban. blank: I do it all the time. Never had an issue. But then people's situations are different. Also, I don't fly in via Heathrow. Other airports are more chill. |
Travel › Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 3 by fcisca: 10:57pm On Feb 15, 2018 |
That is lying and I had personally witnessed someone being turned back at Heathrow for exactly the same reason as . Better to stick to your hotel booking jeje, otherwise you would be back in MMIA before you could spell United Kingdom. MamaGiovanni: @justwise @ekpotek
If someone states he's staying at a hotel in his visa application, gets the visa, cancels the hotel before he travels. And he writes the address of a relative who wasn't mentioned on the visa application as the place he's staying in the UK. Will this cause problems at the POE? Someone is telling me that it doesn't matter, as the agents at the POE do not have the details of the visa application. |

wiljen120: Please, who has flown Royal Air Maroc before? Wondering why their ticket is relatively low to other airlines.....Hope it is safe to fly them to Canada ? Anyone with personal experience please. I'd flown them once and they are ok, as in get you to your destination without delay. You'll do well to also use the restrooms at the airport before boarding because the restrooms become dirty just few hours into the flight. The flight attendants are efficient but not friendly -I guess this is mainly due to language barriers (they speak french and little english). Their ground staff in Casablanca were super too. I had some major issue with my luggage being checked to a different destination and they got it sorted out super fast. jayfierce: Lol. Why the confusion? Congrats It's been approved and possibly ready for pick up. Confirm you've had previous canada visas. Also kindly assist with documents submitted. Tanchu. Thank you all for your response. My confusion stems from the message on VFS tracking site that says my "application is still being processed at the Canada visa office...". Yes, I have had 2 case specific single entry visas -1 in 2010 and another in 2011. In the second case, I paid for multiple entries and they returned the application specifically instructing that I pay for single entry On documents submitted: Application submitted via paper route at Abuja VAC on 21 December 2016. Salary account and savings account: balance on both a little above 600K (I be civil servant cooperative and bank loan effects) I just returned from a fellowship in the US so I have a 3 digit USD balance on a prepaid card -I also included the statement I guess I have a good travel history: Two valid US Visas (B1/B2 and J1 classes) on my passports. I also have had UK, France, Brazil, Portugal, Germany, Spain, Switzerland, Turkey, etc and 2 previous Canadian visas (total of 4 passports) -but I have seen peeps with more stellar history denied. SOP: I confess I had just 2 paragraphs and I was a little scared after reading about SOPs on this forum -I had submitted before coming to read the threads. Photocopy of Marriage cert and child's birth cert. I guess that was it. Meanwhile had a little 'katakata' with the staff of the VFS VAC over their trying to rip-off an old couple -I no dey 'minded' my business in jenifa's voice and they kinda gave me an "we go show u" treatment... |

awelekiti: I'd advise you write them. I had a similar experience when I renewed my Visa. I needed to travel to another country, the travel date was close but CIC had not yet taken a decision on my application. I called vfs and they advised that I send CIC an email to notify them, which I did. A reply came the following day which stated that my application was queuing for processing and was still within the processing time...that they'd get back to me soonest. Within 48 hours after receiving their email, I got a pick up alert from vfs. Maybe you should do the same and let them know the importance of the trip you are planning to embark on, with your passport. NB- I attached in the email, an invitation for the meeting I was going for , which necessitated the need to travel with my passport. Send them an email to either of the following addresses... lagos@international.gc.ca, lagos.immigration@international.gc.ca. Thanks bro @awelekiti. I submitted at the VAC Abuja. Will give them a call in the morning and if directed, will email the high commission. |

Good evening Nairalanders. I submitted my paper application on 21 December for a conference in May. I initially did not want to submit because on the website it says 65 days and I would be needing my passport for another trip first week of next month. But they told me that it takes 10 working days and I was ok with that. I actually met some folks whose processing took like 10-12 days at the VAC. Besides all the past Canadian visas I had took 10 days or less. Now I am yet to receive any sms to come pick up my passport. Has the 10 days period been vacated because the website is now showing 112 days. Thank you all for your response and have fruitful week ahead to everyone. |
