Please I have a question for those qualified to do the dropbox. A date was fixed (by the carefree agent she used) for my mum without consulting her, february 14. Please is it possible to cancel that date and rebook another one or is it once fixed, cannot be cancelled.

Second, must she be present there to submit her documents or could she able to use Dhl to send her documents?

Please forgive me for the questions but I didn't know when she was doing all these, I would have done it for her although I have applied for many countries visa but have never attempted the USA visa.

Please guys help me answer these questions

If you wouldn't mind, could you please share the scholarship. I'm looking for a PhD scholarship as well in NZ.
Thanks
My apologies, I am just seeing this now. Just like I mentioned, it is my organisation funding and not a scholarship. My mistake for stating it as a scholarship. But Universities there have a whole lot of scholarship, even the government aid, go online and the university's' websites and search for them. I was not opportuned to get any. I hope this helps.
TravelRe: 8 Things You Need To Know About New Zealand by Fekonzy: 6:42am On Nov 25, 2019
Hello house,
Please I have a pressing situation that I need help with.

Please bear with me as this is quite lengthy

I got a PhD admission in New Zealand beginning of this year, but I was not able to secure the scholarship. And I could not afford their tuition and living expenses on my small salary. I applied for another scholarship which I was told might not be available till next year

Also at the same time, I got an admission in South Africa which I can afford as the school will pay the tuition and but you will have to take care of the living expenses yourself.

Therefore, in a bit to progress and not waste more time at home as I had already spent two years working on this, I decided to go to South Africa to start my PhD. I got a 3 years visa for my studies and September I decided to leave. When i arrived, my supervisor advised me to wait till next year to register officially as the year is almost over. But I can continue my research unofficially. I agreed.

Early this month, I received a letter that my scholarship has been granted for my studies in New Zealand to start immediately. Which is great news.

My question is, will the 3 years study visa in my passport for south africa affect my chances of getting a study visa for New Zealand? I havent been officially registered as a student here so will they have reservations about the S.A study visa?

Ps. The scholarship is not from New Zealand.

Perfect reason to travel to the UK and stay a month or two depending on your research need but you have to mention this in your application so as to have it on your file
I mentioned it in my application that I have collaborations in the UK and would be making lots of trips there. However, for the first trip, I stated it was for a convention.
So if I overstay the 22 days on this first trip, would it still affect future applications?

Do you work or run your own business in Nigeria?
I work but I am on study leave. Running my PhD research in S.A. I have some research collaborations in the UK so I will be making lots of trips there.

I will be surprised if you are able to renew that visa. PhD research was not mentioned in your application and you did not budget for 2 months stay.
Ok thank you so much.

But for clarity sake, its compulsory that I stay for a maximum period of 22 days for the first trip, Then subsequent visits can be more than that?

Also what duration am I allowed before I can return?

Hello house and Justwise. Please help me with this. I have been to the UK twice now for both a convention and visit. I did a renewal and applied for 2 years instead. I have just received a 2 years visit visa and while applying I stated I wanted to go for a convention just like I did last year and will stay for 22 days.

Will staying for more than 22 days affect my future applications?

Remember I have been to the UK twice now but I am confused that if I stay for more than 22 days with this new visa, it will affect my future applications.

Please Justwise and house advise me.

Wow. This is strange. I know someone that got his in one day when he applied for withdrawal.
TravelRe: General South Africa Visa Enquiries by Fekonzy: 8:13pm On Mar 05, 2019
I dont understand what useless, inhuman system these people operate there. I have applied for a withdrawal since thursday and these people have refused returning my passport. Is it by force? I have no interest in going to their country again and its still a problem for them. I went to vfs global today and they said maybe it was ommitted and they will include it when they get there. I have not received any email till now meaning these people have not found my passport and application till now. What do i do please. I have been in lagos since Wednesday, and i need to go back to my base and resume work. I am confused. I just need my passport returned. What sort of rubbish is this?

Thank you very much for your prayers.

He has done it.
TravelRe: General South Africa Visa Enquiries by Fekonzy: 8:43pm On Feb 20, 2019
That means nobody got an alert. This shows that it was just a rouse, giving people false hope. Quite disappointing. You can just see how these people are playing with us, Nigerians. Our government is not speaking for us. Nobody is speaking for us. Its a pity. I dont stay in Lagos, Abuja or Ph, I would have been paying them a visit from time to time till they grow tired of me. It is really a pity

Imisi43:
So incase anyone gets an alert pls let us no..who knows they could alert us this week or nxt

Hello. @justwise and others.
Please i have a question to ask. I want to apply for a renewal for my visa that will expire around april. I want to apply for a 2 year visa this time around. However in the past i had been denied a visa three times. But on the third time, i appealed through the organization that organized the convention i intended on attending and they overturned the decision and gave me a visa.
So i wish to ask would the past denials pose affect my chances of getting the visa? And can i get a 2 years visa if i apply as a tourist
now? Also I have a student visa for south africa as I plan on starting my phd research next month. Please what are my chances and any advice for me?

One thing I know that delays PhD application is when the candidate does not have a supervisor willing to take him/her.
It is quite the contrary, I have two supervisors very much interested in my research and they wrote to me that they have both indicated interest as the application came to the department. I dont understand why it is taking this much time.

Ask the department or the graduate admission officer.
I trust they will tell you what is delaying your application and how long it normally takes.
I did that and I was told such things take long and my application is still with the department for two months now. Please anyone at the University of Otago or have an offer there? I need to know how long it took the person and whether mine is getting unusually long....

Please help!

TravelRe: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 3 by Fekonzy: 12:43pm On Nov 27, 2018
I had applied for a UK visa twice in the past and got denied due to so many reasons, insufficient funds, and no strong ties to my country. Fast forward to august this year, I applied again to attend a convention and again was denied with no hopes of administrative review or an appeal.

It pained me cause I have been to two European countries, Israel, Dubai, and even had a valid norweigian schegen visa as I also had a conference to attend and paper to present. It was all painful. I decided to report the issue to the organization inviting me and they were very angry with their refusal. As this time, it was like the embassy misrepresented the information and documents I supplied them. It was like they used another individual document to assess my application. I filled the administrative review form pointing out their errors very vividly and expressing my disappointment in their assessment. I sent the form to the organization to show them the errors they made in my application. They worked on it from their own end and somehow got the home office to look at it and review my application a second time. A week to the convention date, they emailed me and told me to resubmit my passport, that the decision had been overturned. I sent it after the weekend as I had to travel to Abuja to make the submission. They delayed till the end of the week, when the convention had already started to end the next two days, I received a call to come and pick my passport with my visa in it. I was disappointed cause of the delay and all the flights leaving the next day will arrive the next two days, when the convention must have ended. I still made the trip but I missed the convention. But at the end of the day I was happy that the fight was successful and they were not able to deny me my right. I am back to my base and forging ahead with my work and life in general.

Dear house,
This is my first time writing on nairaland. But I have a question to ask the gurus in the house. I am a lecturer and I had applied for a visit visa twice in 2015 and got denied. This August I reapplied for a business visa for a convention I was chosen to attend. I was refused and The reasons they gave was really disappointing, they even accused me of taken a loan that will expire Feburary this year whereas I put in a fixed deposit certificate that will be retired August. They said I did not include ties to my country, whereas I put in a landed document to show that I have a land even though Co owned with my fiance here in Nigeria. It was like they used another person's document to evaluate mine. I wrote to them pointing out these errors and they denied it stating that I do not have rights to an administrative review. I reported back to the alumni president and he contacted the m.p whom he gave the names of the representatives who were chosen for the convention. They gave him an assurance of a review as they wrote to the home office on that. How possible is it for a positive review. As right now, I am very angry and disappointed in them. Note since 2015 I have travelled to over two European countries on studies and workshops, Israel and even have a valid norweign Schengen visa for a conference I was meant to attend this month. Please I need a reply. Has anyone been through this?
