That was a pre independent report that indicate Lagos state has huge population before independence, before the influx of people outside the region into the state to tap from it's wealth.

Same way you have strangers and foriegners scattered all over lagos. In the estate where i was in lagos there is hardly maybe just one yoruba tenant the rest of us are strangers likewise almost the entire area. Very few Yoruba people or Lagos indigenes around. Real fact.

During Christmas i hate been in Lagos because it will seem as if almost everybody is gone. Make public holiday reach if you have not observe the exodus movement out of Lagos you have not stayed in Lagos. Real fact!

This is entirely different from population of other Nigerians that troop into Lagos every minutes.

With or without people coming to Lagos from other states, Lagos has it's huge indigenous population even larger than many indigenous population from many other states

@ 24 when i was a temporary staff at NNPC Zonal office we had among the soldier men one who after greeting him asked me about my family and kids of which i told him i was yet to have any child, with great surprise and anger the guy looked at me and asked my age of which i told him i was 24. Now, right here @ 25 - 35 we are yet to bear children, that is the reality. Up North, @ 25 - 35 some are even having their second wife money or no money. Down South you will even see men of over 50 years who are yet to bear any child, they are waiting to ensure they build a house for both themselves and their mother before they even think of getting married and bear children.

If you have been to the North and have not seen this children then you have still not been to the North. Shey na goat born them?

Besides, where and where do you think Aboki resides in Warri. As far as to my village Abokis are there. There are places you will start traveling to in this country if you meet one Delta or Edo persons you go celebrate. Let me surprise you, you can travel from Lagos to Gboko in Benue and some of the few resturants you will see are mostly runned by the Yorubas. Down here we don't travel like the Northerners do that is why we always feel there are no people in the North.

On Monday in my place in Bayelsa state, several okada guys were arrested who were Nigeriens, because one of them killed an Hausa guy. I was shocked to know that these huge number of okada riders were not Nigerians but rather foreigners. I had thought that they were all northerners. So, where is the northern population if these large number of foreigners who impersonate the northerners are residing in this country. And they Ae being used to rig elections. Why aren't the huge numbers attributed to the numbers not do the rigging magic for them?

Anyway, that is the reality before our very own eyes and there is hardly anything tangible you and i can do about it. Up North they recognize and accept anybody as their own the moment you can identify with them in language, culture and even religion it is worst when they know you are of the same tribe with them even if you are from a neighbouring country. It is just their lifestyle.

Again, a lot of them inter marry from other neighbouring countries that shares the same values with them and this often helps in driving the influx of foreigners into the country. So many indices and logics you have to look into if you must do something about it. We down south apart from cameroun and i think Togo don't really have that leverage and even if you observe from the Togo axis you will see a similar phenomenon but to the Yoruba tribe.

Don't forget that after the federal government census exercise Lagos did their own and arrive at a very bogus result which the federal govt reject and refuse to work with because as at when the official one was going on a lot of strangers has moved to their various places of origin.

Declare census today and you will see and believe what i am telling you. The North don't joke with census and election. In virtually every nooks and crannies of this nation you have Northerners. They have the population.

That's true but looking at the census figure in 1991 before the creation of Jigawa state from Kano state,Kano state was just over 100k more than Lagos.After that ,they went ahead to allocate 44 LGA to Kano alone after Jigawa was created with 27 LGA.After that in 2006 again,Kano state alone is still more than Lagos that wasn't divided while Jigawa has 4m+ populace.Does it mean there in no population growth in Lagos?

I was a census officer in 2006 and i am telling you my experience from the street. Few persons who are strangers in my jurisdiction who were unable to travel refused to be counted. Bulk of these persons where southerners. Be factual, in your view take the strangers away from Lagos do you think Lagos will be so populated? Don't forget Lagos is the smallest state in Nigeria.

Right from Bible times people often travel to their place of origin just to be counted and have advantage over other people but down South the Igbo man will not leave the North to South just to be counted because he may return and everything will not be the same again. Down South the Northern man will travel and still come back to his Hausa quater and you may really not find anything to loot in their absential. Simple logic we cannot change.
