Crime / Re: Nigerian Police Clash With Indian Men In Heated Confrontation (video) by Felixv: 4:22pm On Mar 25
indians are probably the worse human beings on earth

I show them no mercy --had a confrontation with a group near landmark beach a few months ago ---the huge slap I gave one of them could have been heard in bangalore.

I would not even wish my enemy to visit their country
Health / Re: My Experience With Hard Stool. by Felixv: 2:19pm On Mar 25
you might need to visit the hospital for medical advice --this is definitely not normal

A guy I know who had this same problem found out that he had cancer --do not be surprised at what might be lurking in the dark

I guess the normal advice would be to ensure you are always hydrated.

This I have seen.
Will this really solve the japa syndrome??

They'll simply resign & leave the system!!!

As a matter of fact, this policy will only end up hampering the chances of the very few that genuinely intend returning.

Instead of the government to address the main issues pushing the health workers away (which mainly bothers around remuneration & welfare), they keep beating round the bush & embarrassing themselves with archaic & not well thought out policies.

we can never compete with the west -that is a fact we need to accept. All we can do is produce more health care workers and pray the government invests in the health care sector.

they need to invest in the hospitals and give those hospitals the best equipment possible

Science/Technology / Re: Guys Using Solar Energy Instead Of Nepa Or Gen. by Felixv: 2:51pm On Feb 18
solar is the deal -but you need to be careful of the products out there -my dry cell agm battery died after 1 year of moderate usage so definitely avoid any indian made product.

am running on 4 solar panels, mopower inverter and 2 dry cell batteries.

carries only the simple devices -fridge,fans,tv and bulbs. This does not carry the AC so I converted to an air cooler instead.

my plan now is to increase the solar panel to 8,and by some tubular batteries -probably 4.

good luck

'Please, I really need advice from lawyers that are there, how do you cope migrating. Is it advisable I leave, if yes, what are the first things I might encounter, if am relocating it will be with my family. I just don't want to regret relocating. The exchange rate is just too much
'

You would have to decide on your own if leaving Nigeria would be beneficial to you or not.

I have seen both sides of the coin -some have become extremely successful and some have failed miserably and it does not matter what profession you are in.

The main issue is the lack of a clear objective. You must have a detailed plan.

brother I hear you --recently one of my relatives gave birth to his 4th child.

I had to hide my anguish (according to this guy his wife insisted that they have another child),I made my contribution and just kept quiet

the moral of the story -everyone is feeling the pain -we just have to survive any way we can.

I honestly get your point -but there can be no price put on our freedom. And American prisons are definitely not safe -rapes,murders and constant threats to one's life is a constant in those prisons.

Maybe the problems we face in Nigeria have given many of our youths a sense of hopelessness and I will never discourage anyone from escaping.
Travel / Re: I Want To Japa, But My Friend Who Is Abroad Has Been Discouraging Me by Felixv: 2:12pm On Oct 07, 2023
I think he meant the US and not Canada. I too was wondering how he would retire and earn a pension while working illegitimately -this is definitely a tough call

in the US you need to work for at least 10yrs before you earn your 40 points which then qualifies you for the state pension. And how much you get at 65/67 depends on the amount of money you contributed into the system. Note that only greencard holders and US citizens quality for the state pension.

What about health care -without health insurance you are living a risky life. I guess there are probably some charitable hospitals that might render some free services.

What about driving ,rent ,transportation and then the actual type of work you would need to do.

My point is be prepared for a hard life and good luck. I hope the guy does not end up in federal prison like a huge chunk of Nigerians.

we have a huge population currently serving time in prison for different type of offences.

Celebrities / Re: Mohbad Vomited, Developed Goosebumps After Three Injections – CP by Felixv: 1:57pm On Oct 07, 2023
This seems to be a very unfortunate incident some of the factors that probably led to the guy's death include

fighting -disorderly conduct
alcohol
lack of discipline -which probably led to the refusal to go to the hospital

and finally the use of improperly trained medical personal

we should try our best to avoid the quacks and chemists when it comes to our health

I hope his family find peace and unfortunately that poorly trained nurse might bear the brunt of this issue

Hw abt laundry skills(washing and ironing). Is it important?
Can one use it to make a profit over there?

bruh -every handy work is important -the question is 'will they pay me enough to survive' --that is why it is important to do your research.

Here is an example -
Job description
Experienced folder needed for Brooklyn laundry service.. Must be willing to learn to fold to our high standards

Experience: Required
Employment: Part-time
Salary: $15 – $20 hourly
Starting time: Immediate start!

---when it comes to handy work in the states your main competition would be the mexicans.

Travel / Re: Nigerians Abroad Should Stop Advising Nigerians NOT To Japa by Felixv: 5:17pm On Sep 13, 2023
Quidsin:
Don't ever listen to Nigerians abroad discouraging you not to relocate.

My story here -

I started my Masters in April 2016, I did not complete it till Jan 2020.
It took me 2 years to get my certificate, I had to do Clearance at PG school twice before getting it. I finally got it in December 2022.

Two of my friends Japa last year OCTOBER.

FAMILY 1.

Wife started Masters in October 2022 and finished in April 2023, was lucky to get a job in June. They are doing very well.

FAMILY 2.

Wife graduated as Best graduating student in her Masters (she studied an engineering course). Offers have started coming in for her to do another program, I think a scholarship is coming her way.

This is a country that works. If you know how much it cost me to tip and bribe those guys in PG school before getting my certificate. Imagine them telling me the person in charge is not around.

Please 🙏 Japa if you have the means.

just a few questions

which country and course did these individuals study --also how much did they have to spend.

you would do well to list the costs iteratively

travel expenses
accommodation
cost of college
degree obtained
rating of college
employment prospects
did they obtained any loans and how long will take them to repay the loans

thanks -this information would help a lot of people.

The reason why this forum has been around for a long time is because this is where we come to share our life experiences -I certainly know that because I have been a member for a long time.

We should tolerate disparate views -this shows that we have matured as a people. There are cons and pros to travelling abroad and considering the situation Nigeria is now I guess there are more pros -but is it guaranteed. What is the probability of success and how do we quantify success.

No one can give you that answer -people can only share their own opinions and the rest is up to the individual.

Nigeria
So Tinubu went to the G20 summit and came back stating that he spoke to the Germans about bringing back VW to Nigeria -I read this and felt bad -and this is where I sympathize with people like you -our leaders have taken us for a ride and it seems they would not stop.

Now why would VW come to a country that cannot produce enough electricity for it's citizens when VW has so many other options. This alone should encourage me to advice people to leave Nigeria -but I have seen our people suffer miserably in some of the strangest countries and at the same time I have seen many Nigerians have a great life here also.

so make up your mind and come back here with your own life experiences.
