Deepthoughts:
You see if buhari had just waited for the appeal court, now would have been the best time to seek the ex parte order n neatly achieve his objective whether clean or selfish but now for jumping the gun n engaging in illegality of procuring a questionable ex parte order to suspend onoghen without recourse to the NJC/NASS both onoghen, tanko Danladi should all go.

I don’t agree with the NJC and NASS part

Onoghen deliberately suspended the NJC indefinitely- there was no guarantee that the other members would call his bluff , and form a quorum which would have been needed to recall the NJC

Now to the NASS - that is another matter. Because saraki would have deliberately refused to reconvene the senate, then the CJ would have had a free hand to do what he wants

I support buhari on this. Corruption is ingrained in our society and there is no easy way out.

How can the CJN confess to hiding huge sums of money in his bank accounts without no iota of shame.

U need to note jamb forms wasn’t as expensive back then, now jamb has become a full fledged business rather than educational opportunity.

You are probably right but wasn’t the price of the JAMB forms recently reduced ,

and based on the amount of money they are making it is important that the price of the those forms are reduced even further.

But we wouldn’t be talking about reducing the prices if the money had been secretly stolen - as a matter of fact we would probably be debating the moral of a price increase.

I must confess that I don't really understand much of what you wrote -but one thing I want to ask is -why did buhari have to bail out state governors who couldn't pay the salaries of their workers -

how much money did Nigeria make during the pdp era --don't forget oil was sold for over $100 a barrel

which type of infrastructure did the pdp leave their beloved country --how many roads, railways, airports were fixed

how much was in the external reserve when Jonathan took over and how much did he leave there.

how much was found in Jonathan's wife's account, how much was found in diezani alison-madueke' account, how much money did dasuki sambo spread across the nation while he was pretending to be father xmas.

how many local governments were under the control of BH during the jonathan's era

the list can go on and on..

so to your prayer, I keep money in the bank, and I don't go to clubs buying champagne nor do I wash my hands with alcohol --so basically I cut my coat according to my size.

It took me almost 10yrs to build my bungalow in badore...yes 10yrs of hard labor. And I have worked all over the world.

with all due respect, you obviously have no idea how the NJC works.

do you know that a majority of the members can call for a meeting even if the chairman may not be n agreement?

the point here is that PMB did not explore all his 'legal' options before resorting to illegality.

the Judiciary is an equal arm of government & is one of the tripods upon which democracy stands.

the executive has no right to unilaterally suspend and/or remove the head of that arm of government.

doing that sounds the wrong signals...

The NJC has called a meeting and that settles that

Did Buhari explore all legal options?? There are always other ways of doing things.

My point is - I am happy with the decisive action taken by buhari. We cannot have a corrupt Cj of our nation

Exactly.

Why didn't PMB also write a petition to the NJC?

The petitions against Amaechi, fayemi, oshio & others that were published, what happened to them? you

The bottom line is this, if PMB wants to be a tyrant, he should make it applicable to all.

Anything other than that, your attempts to justify his actions amount to perfidy...

EXCLUSIVE: How Onnoghen Postponed NJC Meeting Indefinitely For Fear Of Being Suspended

“Even though no reason was adduced for the postponement of the meeting, Justice Onnoghen was not sure that the body would not suspend him until the conclusion of the case of false declaration of assets pending against him at the Code of Conduct Tribunal.

The fear of Justice Onnoghen is not unfounded as the National Judicial Council has placed all judges who are on trial on suspension pending the conclusion of criminal cases filed against them as a result of the 2016 arrest of judges for corruption," the source said.

if you have a problem with anyone else --please write a petition and publish it..it is that simple

You clearly do not read. The constitution says where one omits in his assets declaration, he’s bound to resubmit same after admission. The constitution didn’t say they have to be suspended. Tinubu was freed by the same CCT Upon Admission by same CCT Chairman Danladi Umar. What is the matter with you guys? Jonathan’s BVN Policy is the only reason why you guys are screaming corruption today. But when your president leaves office, there is nothing to help continue his fight against corruption because he thinks fighting corruption is by shouting LOOSTERS. You are screaming CORRUPTION TODAY BECAUSE OF GEJ’s corruption Policy of BVN IMPLEMENTATION.

correct me if am wrong -but he would need to admit to this omission in a competent court of law...he can't just 'admit' his wrong doing on the streets or in his house.

CCT is responsible for asset declaration so he MUST present himself before them and then settle this case -but he refused and not only that he also deliberately shut down the NJC.

buharideens seem to vaunt your rudderless subjectivity at every given opportunity.

not 3 months ago, some buharideens were told how the petitions against Amaechi & other favoured looters was going nowhere with the efcc.

they said that nobody can do anything & due process must be followed. they further argued that until efcc does something on it, we cannot expect PMB to act on their matter.

now, PMB has bypassed due process & suspended Onnogen. as much as Onnogen deserves to be removed, disgracefully, from office if found culpable through due process, why didn't PMB follow the same due process of writing to the NJC & NAss & request the suspension of Onnogen?

why are buharideens suddenly up in arms against following due process when it comes to issues of wrong doing by PMB?

this is where I always differ from pmb's supporters & call them double standard hypocrites.

when those whom PMB does not like run foul of the law, he comes down swiftly & disregards due process & disobeys court orders.

when his favoured crooks are caught with hands in the cookie jar, he suddenly remembers that things have to be done slowly according to due process. who is deciving who?

today, babachir walks free, daura who essentially carried out a treasonable offence, walks free. Amaechi walks free, fayemi was allowed to recontest & win an election, oshio walks free & even brags about how converts to APC are free to enjoy their ill gotten wealth.

buharideens know these things, but choose to remain instruments of deceit & anarchy.

if Nigeria is to grow under PMB, he must treat every corruption case the same way. you either follow due process for every accused or you use the same dictatorial hand for all. that way, there would be some level of consistency in the anticorruption fight.

but what is due process ---

“We must recall that it was CJN Onnoghen who wrote the minority judgement in favor of the President in his 2011 election petition. In fact, that the President had to act today is simply a question of duty and adherence to rule of law. He had nothing personal against the Chief Justice.”

the CJ is the head of the NJC

should the CJ not have allowed the NJC to sit and then decide the case.
why did the CJ suspend sitting of the NJC indefinitely

so he is allowed to play a game of cat and mouse.

let's actually get to the core of the argument which your premium times (like pdp,nba and many others) has so cleverly ignored

why did the CJN hide his assets, why did he not declare everything, what is he hiding and is it morally right -as a chief judge to be dishonest.

he admitted to this offence and his excuse was that he forgot ---how can you forget billions of naira sitting in your bank accounts, how can you forget ownership of about 55 houses ...lol

I beg thief na thief..haba a whole CJ .....we are indeed shameless.

let me cut and paste from...

Akinloye pointed that Nigerians should not forget that monies were traced to bank accounts belonging to Justice Onnoghen. “We must remember that security agencies have also traced other suspicious transactions running into millions of dollars to the CJN’s personal accounts, all undeclared or improperly declared as required by law.

“We must also remember that the Chief Justice of Nigeria in his response admitted in to the charges. He was quoted as saying that it he forgot to declare the account, an act which is totally unknown to our laws as defences in the circumstances of his case”.

Akinloye then posed some questions to those who are opposing the suspension. “Should the President have simply ignored the allegations against the CJN? Or should the nation just pretend that this did not happen? Did the CJN actually forget to declare his assets? These are questions that must be asked”

Onnoghen is not been tried on a criminal case. No body is disputing how he got monies in his account, if not you would have had EFCC and ICPC gruelling him.

The case is about a mere declaration of asset.

APC and their devilish croonies are trying to turn in around into a criminal case which it isn't.

When in 2015 Osibanjo a mere judge in a,state declared almost $1 million in his bank account, how come nobody questioned how he got them?

The CCT trial is not a corruption trial.

Are you serious - a mere ‘asset declaration!!!’ He is by law required to do that - declare all his assets.
He broke the law and as a law layman isn’t that a crime.

Professor Osinbajo has his own law firm and was making money. He was never a judge but instead a practicing lawyer.

Key Difference: A lawyer is a person who practices law, whereas a judge is a person who presides over the law. ... It is the job of a lawyer to advise their clients in all aspects of the law. They may also prepare a case for their clients and argue it on their behalf in a court of law.

A JUDGE MUST BE IMPARTIAL and above board. He can decide the fate of any case.
