PlayerMeji:not true --got ask bill gates , elon musk or even Mark Zuckerberg |
I need to cry --whats the conversion rate 1000 russian ruble= 10cents |
brother I hear you --recently one of my relatives gave birth to his 4th child. I had to hide my anguish (according to this guy his wife insisted that they have another child),I made my contribution and just kept quiet the moral of the story -everyone is feeling the pain -we just have to survive any way we can. |
looks good ..but I was expecting a huge catfish..lol even my regular joint has increased their prices https://farmcityltd.com/our-menu-mixed/ |
chicken, turkey, meat and fish --protein is very important for our well being. |
you got to respect a leader like that ---he is fearless |
is that why you are single...LOL 2 boxers a day 1 during the day another for bedtime after a nice shower -always nice smelling fresh for the lady. |
I honestly get your point -but there can be no price put on our freedom. And American prisons are definitely not safe -rapes,murders and constant threats to one's life is a constant in those prisons. Maybe the problems we face in Nigeria have given many of our youths a sense of hopelessness and I will never discourage anyone from escaping. |
I think he meant the US and not Canada. I too was wondering how he would retire and earn a pension while working illegitimately -this is definitely a tough call in the US you need to work for at least 10yrs before you earn your 40 points which then qualifies you for the state pension. And how much you get at 65/67 depends on the amount of money you contributed into the system. Note that only greencard holders and US citizens quality for the state pension. What about health care -without health insurance you are living a risky life. I guess there are probably some charitable hospitals that might render some free services. What about driving ,rent ,transportation and then the actual type of work you would need to do. My point is be prepared for a hard life and good luck. I hope the guy does not end up in federal prison like a huge chunk of Nigerians. we have a huge population currently serving time in prison for different type of offences. |
This seems to be a very unfortunate incident some of the factors that probably led to the guy's death include fighting -disorderly conduct alcohol lack of discipline -which probably led to the refusal to go to the hospital and finally the use of improperly trained medical personal we should try our best to avoid the quacks and chemists when it comes to our health I hope his family find peace and unfortunately that poorly trained nurse might bear the brunt of this issue |
Love800:bruh -every handy work is important -the question is 'will they pay me enough to survive' --that is why it is important to do your research. Here is an example - Job description Experienced folder needed for Brooklyn laundry service.. Must be willing to learn to fold to our high standards Experience: Required Employment: Part-time Salary: $15 – $20 hourly Starting time: Immediate start! ---when it comes to handy work in the states your main competition would be the mexicans. |
Quidsin:just a few questions which country and course did these individuals study --also how much did they have to spend. you would do well to list the costs iteratively travel expenses accommodation cost of college degree obtained rating of college employment prospects did they obtained any loans and how long will take them to repay the loans thanks -this information would help a lot of people. |
The reason why this forum has been around for a long time is because this is where we come to share our life experiences -I certainly know that because I have been a member for a long time. We should tolerate disparate views -this shows that we have matured as a people. There are cons and pros to travelling abroad and considering the situation Nigeria is now I guess there are more pros -but is it guaranteed. What is the probability of success and how do we quantify success. No one can give you that answer -people can only share their own opinions and the rest is up to the individual. Nigeria So Tinubu went to the G20 summit and came back stating that he spoke to the Germans about bringing back VW to Nigeria -I read this and felt bad -and this is where I sympathize with people like you -our leaders have taken us for a ride and it seems they would not stop. Now why would VW come to a country that cannot produce enough electricity for it's citizens when VW has so many other options. This alone should encourage me to advice people to leave Nigeria -but I have seen our people suffer miserably in some of the strangest countries and at the same time I have seen many Nigerians have a great life here also. so make up your mind and come back here with your own life experiences. |

Let me tell you a little story --a friend of mine just gave his elder brother ( 66yr old man with 3 children) 700k to rent a room and parlor somewhere in ijesha. So this elderly gentleman is going to share 2 rooms with his 3 children and his wife. The question I asked is -why does not own his own house ,why can't he pay his own rent and who is going to pay the rent next year. My friend didn't give me any answers -because he has no answers. I think she knows what she is talking about and I am sure you can find half a plot somewhere near lagos for a reasonable amount -maybe you wouldn't be able to finish the construction in 10ys -but at least buying the land would show commitment and also serve as a drive to make you aim for something higher. Sometimes we need a target to motivate us -don't feel bad about her request just take it as a motivating factor or an impetus to achieve more in life. |
Documentation is the main problem for many guys abroad -many are illegal so they have no choice but to live a life of survival. But a friend managed to sneak into NJ and because he is a very good barber has been able to carve out a life for himself. He still does not have any legal documentation but he works. Through that he has been able to build himself a house in the north for his young family. And also help many of his siblings. I guess this can probably only happen in the states where a single haircut costs about $25,don't get me wrong he stood out in the snow hustling for customers to pay for his rent (barbers have to pay a fee to work in a shop). But as time flew by he carved out a niche for himself -the African community liked him and he became their go to guy whenever they needed a haircut. So my message is -work on a skill that would allow you work -it does not have to be a professional skill but surely a trade -beauty care, tailoring ,carpentry ,plumbing ,painting -any type of trade. Another advice is to avoid crime -we have a huge number of Nigerians in federal prisons in the states and that is definitely not a nice place to be. decide on a trade or solid education, which one would become your life saver would depend on many factors but I believe the former rather than the latter is your best bet -remember locals would be happy for you to do the dirty work rather than the white collar work. I would avoid any asian or arab country and definitely not india -I wouldn't wish that on my worse enemy. The US is still the best place for an illegal immigrant. |
you are at the right age to take this risk -although I have to say that canada is also pretty expensive but I believe if you are focused you can earn a good degree and start a lucrative career. if anything focus on a technical degree. Don't forget that canada allows students to work |
the UK still offers a great health system and it is not expensive. It's true the Uk is expensive but with good money management skills and 'not' living in London you should be fine personally think of the positives good schools good health care good career advancement and a decent pension scheme Not sure if Nigeria can match any of the above.
|
I am sorry but the correct 'noun' is women and not girls ---why? -married women are even worse and this is a fact. So basically many women have this problem. reasons money -many women want the expensive cars, nice cloths, expensive phones and just a great life in general -they see rich men as cashcows. men -many men just cant be loyal to one woman -so obviously many women have been cheated on so eventually the good ones turn astray. |
Your Network Determines Your Net-worth. Try to find people who can help you --75k is painfully low to even think of saving! |
the cost of living in Europe really hits the professionals from Africa quite hard. |
I guess I saw this topic late --damn what a deep story. |
oh -sorry --let me delete this! |
I only drink beer or glass of shots....if you work hard for your money you won't waste it on crap. but again I do like my sneakers --- |
I blame the guy for this fiasco -he obviously saw the menu so he should laid the ground rules. Or at least told her how much he could afford. We should not embarrass people outside in this manner. |

if you are young with a decent education and earning a poor salary then you need to work on your side hustles ---invest time in making money |
it's not just civil servants -but anyone who does not plan for the future would retire poor. But the way things are in this country many people would definitely retire poor or would work forever. a pension plan is a must medical plan your own personal house -no matter how small invest in your children (if you have any) and try to have a stable home. |
number 2 seems fair. subletting is becoming a problem in lagos. but to be fair the other 'rules' seem weird and unjust -look for somewhere else. |
Have you researched the job market, what skillsets are in high demand at the moment. I know in the US cloud is a big deal and some of the skills needed range from DevOps -installing virtual machines, configuration network environments to supporting customer implementations. There is a lot of automation taking place that quickens the implementation process (mostly with scripts). I would recommended that you investigate the local job market and use that as a leverage. cloud commuting is definitely the future,we see more customers moving from onprem to datacentres but am not sure there is the volume in Nigeria at the moment unless you plan to work for a foreign company. |
