This is not a matter of boyfriend or strangers. I think the guy didn't help himself with his past and now its haunting him and wants to end his serious relationship but then the hardest thing to drop is an habit especially a bad one.
But i would want you to be careful and try understand what really went wrong with your guy and some of the girls he dated that has been disturbing you.

He might not have said the whole truth about them, You could also cajole those girls to tell you why they feel you should leave him.

i have often said that the most idiotic people on this mother earth are arsenal fans, they are so gullible and stupid believing they have a great squad which is full of young, unambitious players. I bet henry made a great mistake signing his entire life to arsenal as they don't look good to win titles not only in this decade but in future ones.

Well a good true story is mine.I was dating this girl when she told me she was going to yankee, this was 3 years ago and promised heaven on heart about not leaving me, Story, we were so tight about 3 months when she got there, always calling and sending mails, chatting.You name it (even f**king through the phone)
But 1 year to her stay and we lost contact which she blamed on her school work. I can't remember the last time we talked again since then, probably a year ago, i don't even feel what i felt for her back then. I guess the saying goes "The Nearest is the Dearest"

I was a victim of this once and can pretty tell that those kinda relationship are by far the most unpredictable relationships you can ever have,

There was this girl i met last 2 years and we hit it off immediately but then the problem from her household which the main culprit was her mother came to the front.
i could bet on my whole life that her mum didn't like me despite the fact that i looked presentable. I stopped going to her house cause of this and the so called relationship dwindled and eventually died(if i may say so). After a year i went up to see her and she introduced me to her boyfriend. Shocked beyond words i withdrew back into my playa's mandate.
But recently i called her up and said we needed to talk and she was so happy i called and it was quite evident that she had a lot to talk about.
But the basis is even if we still hook up her mother would still be a critical issue.
My question, What should be the role of the mother in her children's relationship? Scare potential suitors? or Welcome everybody?

Well to be frank its difficult to deal with a depressed friend. Have loads of them crying on my shoulders but you gat to make her understand that she's to stake a claim on what she wants in life. If she want to be with Dan then you guys know you have to do the begging now and not later.
But then the main thing is that you must tell her to face the fact that she alone has the power and the will to do something either to placate the situation or move on with luke.

Crying doesnt solve Dan coming back. I guess you have to wipe off the tears and see if its still redeemable and you really have a lot to do about convincing Dan to come back into your life. You must be a real joker for you to know that you love Dan after dashing out your virginity to a guy that you claim you like.

Anyway my best advice is to let Dan leave and try to build up a relationship with luke. R Kelly said "when a woman is fed up there's nothing you can do about it" but then when a man is fed up, Only GOD can intervene.

Cute girls and cute guys Well from my own experience i think its basically due to PREDICTABILITY. I know what a cute girl can do and cannot do and that basically puts me off each time i see them

I must say i am HIGHLY disappointed on the so called christians on this forum, i think enough is enough when it come to issues of religion. Thanks alot for your advice @ ratio, yeepa, mide2 and rikkyjen and prettyH. The guy was actually in Naija on my birthday just as he promised and we spent two whole weeks together. We talked about alot of issues and i got to know that he even entertained more and worse fears than i do. Anyway, we talked about everything, our hopes,dreams,fears, etc for each other. I am in no doubt whatsoever right now that the guy loves me and the beautiful thing is that i am also massively in love with him. IWe have both realised that it is only God that can see us through it all, which is the more reason we need to keep talking to God about our relationship.

@ yeepa, you are right. Nairaland is not really the right place to seek for advice. Some people posted some opinions that were really unfair. They simply refused to understand my little problem. I don not know why they think a long distance relationship is all about money and an avenue for leaving Nigeria??

Anyway, i have followed my heart and i am quite convinced that things can work out perfectly well between us despite the distance.

Well seriously i do think you and this guy are head over heels in love with each other but then you have to be careful, Like i always say THE GREATEST UNPREDICTABLE THING GOD CREATED IS THE HEART OF A MAN.
I have seen a blooming relationship of 10 years go down the drain and well i obviously have seen some that eventually led to marriage but then the thing is i don't subscribe to dating out of your country "The Nearest is always the dearest".

I wonder why some of us believe we cant make it except we get to lie about so many things.Well to be highly frank its so hard to tell the truth when you know a lil lie off the block could save you from imminent harm but i dont think i'd be in support of churning out white lies just to please someone else .If you'd remember even Abraham lied about sarah but i dont see that as a justification, keep that devil away please
