RevenuesBoost: We all know the health benefits of fruits, but it's unfortunate that many Nigerians still find it difficult to include them in their daily meals.
Some people only eat fruits when they're sick, but trust me, making fruits a part of your daily meals can help prevent you from falling ill so often. Fruits are rich in vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, and fiber that help strengthen your immune system and keep your body healthy.
How often do you eat fruits? Is it every day, a few times a week, or only once in a while?
Mattswaggz: The widow of late Nollywood actor, John Okafor, popularly known as Mr Ibu, has appealed to Nigerians for assistance, saying she and her children are struggling to pay rent, school fees and other basic needs.
The appeal was made in a video interview with a content creator, King Mitchy, on Wednesday, in which the actor’s wife and children spoke about the family’s living conditions following his death.
Speaking emotionally, the widow said the family had been without electricity for about two months after their power supply was disconnected over unpaid bills.
She also revealed that they rely on water from a well because of their financial situation.
"We fetch water from the well. Because I have not paid the house rent. And they have even cut my lights for two months now. No lights since. We have been like that. Every night we go to look for a place to charge our phones. And… It’s not easy,” she said.
One of the actor’s daughters praised her mother for keeping the family together despite the hardship.
"I want to thank God for my mom. She tries everything she can to feed us, to pay our school fees, to make us happy,” she said.
The widow further disclosed that her children were at risk of dropping out of school because of unpaid fees.
“Right now, they can’t go to school again. I can even show you the message the school sent me today,” she said.
The content creator who conducted the interview said support was being sought to help the family pay school fees, settle rent and restore electricity to their home.
Mr Ibu, one of Nigeria’s most popular comic actors, died on March 2, 2024, at the age of 62.
