Business › Re: He Told Me He Sent Me ₦2.1 Million, But This Is How I Knew The Receipt Was Fake! by femi4: 2:39pm On Apr 20, 2025
maureensylvia:
Sometime earlier this month, around past 7am, just as I was heading out to drop my kids at school, I got a call.

The person claimed someone referred him to me. He said his boss, a senator, urgently needed bags of rice for a birthday giveaway to prisoners and motherless babies. Sounds noble, right?

I gave him the price.

By 8:10am, he requested my account details.

Barely 10 minutes later, he forwarded a transaction receipt of N2.1 million and began calling repeatedly, urging me to send the goods immediately.

He said, “We trusted you enough to pay before seeing you. Please trust us back and send the rice now. We need it urgently.”

But something didn’t sit right with me.

Thankfully, I zoomed in on the receipt and noticed a tiny detail that didn’t match up.

I'll share the major difference here

I forwarded the receipt to my account officer, and guess what?

It was a fake alert.

I quietly thanked God and smiled. Because if I had moved by emotions, pressure, or excitement, I would have lost both goods and capital.

In business, emotion is expensive. Wisdom and structure will save you from tears.
You don't need the receipt cos receipt can be doctored perfectly sometimes. Next time check your bank app for incoming funds and acc balance

Ok hope you agree with the verse below about the condition of the realm of the dead that Jesus went to.
Ecclesiastics 9:10.

New International Version
Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with all your might, for in the realm of the dead, where you are going, there is neither working nor planning nor knowledge nor wisdom.
That verse is talking about humans

Ecclesiastics was written by King Solomon for Israelites.

Whatever you want to say, say it with your full chest and stop beating around the bush

Before he was resurrected, where did he go to?
Realm of the dead

Act 2:31-32

Seeing what was to come, he spoke of the resurrection of the Messiah, that he was not abandoned to the realm of the dead, nor did his body see decay. 32 God has raised this Jesus to life, and we are all witnesses of it.

I don't mean to be insensitive, but didn't he eventually die again?

See, death of the physical body is a natural phenomenon and an important phase in the continuity of live. Soul, just like God, is immortal and never dies. A more appropriate term for the word "death" is "translation".
No...he ascended to heaven

Luke 24:51: Jesus leads the eleven remaining disciples to Bethany, a village on the Mount of Olives, and instructs them to remain in Jerusalem until the coming of the Holy Spirit: "And it came to pass, while he blessed them, he parted from them, and was carried up into heaven

The message in op article is referring to spiritual death

In the strength of His resurrection, you, too, can humiliate death like a boss. You can forever enjoy eternal life that proceeds from God as you stay connected to Him in spirit and in truth, through faith in Jesus Christ

paxonel:
A critical question to all Christians and mankind.
To me, Easter is a day to reflect on the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
A day to remember that as Christ resurrected, i too will be resurrected to life the very day i die.

So, I therefore do not die in the real sense.

Romans 5:17 For if by one man's offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.)

It is also a day to remember that while I'm alife, I have the sole priority to live a little better, and to add a little sunshine to the world in which I'm living.
Resurrection n life

That's why he is comfortable living with it here in Nigeria .
Nonsense.
Minimum wage in Nigeria is N70,000
People are earning it and are not dead.
Minimum wage in UK is roughly £11 per hr. Or say £2000 a month.
Convert to Naira. N3,600,000.
And you will still FINISH all of it in UK and be begging for overtime. Because you are locked down and tied to spending that money in UK.
Abeg leave the guy and his N550k. He's doing much better than many of you overseas.
Small earnings,
Small expenses.
How can 70k be a realistic min wage. Your govt deceived you and you continue to deceive yourself. 70k is not a living wage. For an IT job, that amount isn't great

Stop converting to foreign currency. We don't use dollars and pounds. The main thing is the purchasing power. The purchasing power of that amount in Nigeria isn't so bad. But it will be terrible in the US or UK.

Learn how to read to understand. I didn't mention video anywhere, I spoke about what was written here on nairaland. You did an interview with someone and your introductory article tells what the interview is about but couldn't even mention the name of the person involved in the interview. Which kine nonsense be this?

See as they just put the guy in the brother's shadow. I was even hoping to see his name after opening the thread but all I kept seeing in "Odunlade Adekola's brother". This is terrible and one of the ways the media intentionally creates envy and enmity between people.

The dude has a life and a career of his on. You can reference him as someone's brother, but that should never be his description.

I honestly don't know why people can't be muted or blocked so I don't see their posts on nairaland.
