Good morning Everyone,

I own a 2004 Honda accord (Scrap EOD), as some of my fellow car owners will call it.

The engine runs fine but I struggle to start it only in the mornings.

Every other hour of the day, the car starts just once as it hits ignition.

Once the car is left in a state of inertia till the next morning, it struggles to start.

I kindly seek the advise of experienced engineers/mechanics on this issue so I can know how to repair or restore.

Are you sure oil is not getting into your plugs. Go n get a new car/engine

This is essential since you changed top gasket. The mechanic has experience. My advice to you is to continue using the car like that. The fan running after the engine stops is also normal as it has been disconnected from the thermostat and connected with a relay.

It's wrong, the engine will deteriorate with time

My mechanic did some engine repair.

He changed valves, bearing, rings and top gasket.

He disconnected a cable from the thermostat so my fan runs immediately I start the engine, and stops about 3 mins after I stop my engine. He told me that this is essential for the valves to settle. And as well to avoid overheating. He said after 3days drive, I should come so he connects it back.


I’m not comfortable with this. I do not even understand why it has to be so. I’m thinking the engine, temperature and cooling system cannot work optimally with this. I want to connect back the wire (he showed me). But I need advice from an experienced person.


Pls help assist with an advise sirs.

Your observation is correct
Your car will burn more fuel cos the thermostat that controls the temperature has been disabled. Tell him to return it to factory settings.

Your fan shouldn't run immediately you start the engine, especially a cold start. The thermostat decides at what temperature it should for optimal engine performance

It sinusitis/Sinus infection. A Google search would help you understand the infection. It been over three plus weeks now I've been battling this infection.

The first time it started over three weeks ago my mom rushed me to a healthcare centre and that where I was told I've frontal sinusitis. My head seems as it it wants to explode... The pain is out of this world, it feels as if something is breathing in my forehead that is causing extreme pain. I was given antibiotic injection for three days and some drugs..... The drugs just relief me of the pain for some hours then it starts again.

So as the doctor told me and with my research, this infection is chronic (long term) and it been taking a big part of my life. I'm just 20 and I don't know my this is happening to me ... I've been living on pain relief/anti-inflammatory drugs for the past three weeks now .. I'm confused I don't know what to do.
