ceejay80s: hello guys a friend came from port Harcourt to see me on 24th morning he was with me till 25th , we were at night gisting and I ask about his wife..... to cut the long story short,
the father in-law is still alive but the wife, sister and her sisters husband called him that they will be coming to his place to return the bride price, I asked him , who did u give the bride price to? he said the father, I told him to ignore them until the father in-law calls u or ur father before u go and collect it.
Nairalanders I hope I am right?
HAPPY NEW YEAR TO U ALL It's not wrong to return bride price...culture is dynamic A bride shouldn't have a price, she's invaluable. Let's do away with modern slave trade |
Crime › Re: One Chance Drivers Exposed In Benin City ! ( Video ) by femi4: 5:32pm On Jan 01, 2025*. Modified: 6:17pm On Jan 01, 2025 |
JoeEeL: In the video, 2 men were talking. The driver popped his collar. They were discussing about a location. The audio is not clear at all. The lady sat at the backseat, the right corner, wore pink and white and told the driver 'you fit help am', and that's about the clearest thing I could hear.
Then she opened the door and ran away, the men didnt even say a word but just looked.
Now, lessons u can take note of as regards ur stupiid comment:
1. Not everyone is broke. 2. You don't know who is who, especially online. 3. People can comment issues not because it affects them but because it can affect someone else (there are likely thousands of nigerians who don't have data to watch videos). 4. It follows good user experience to always have alternative source of information for any media. For images, there's the alt text which is that text that displays on a photo that fails to load (or loads slowly). This helps the user to have an idea of the image even with bad network, low data. On Youtube, there's a caption feature that makes people read the text along as they watch videos. This helps for people who do not properly hear the language of the video they are watching. Other times, the caption feature can serve as translation if the video was in another language.
Hope you learnt something in the first day of your 2025. I hope you make more reasonable comments in 2025. Good bye. ✌🏻 You need a hearing aid. Go n get one , it's too early in the year to be deaf The driver was discussing with the lady about golden chain, diamond wedding ring (first 12secs of the video) business and where they could sell it (47secs) then, He asked about her tribe, she said Delta 1:07secs The driver and his accomplice were discussing about diamond. His accomplice told him how he got the diamond and how they are pricing it 2.5M plus a plot of land (1:22 -1:33)secs He asked if the lady would be interested in the business by helping his guy and @1:36secs He asked if the lady was recording..... she alighted from the vehicle knowing full well that the driver almost caught her recording them |

Nairaland General › Re: What Did You Learn In 2024? by femi4: 7:19am On Jan 01, 2025 |
Dpharmacist: As 2024 draws to a close, I’ve been reflecting on the lessons this year has brought into my life. From personal achievements to professional growth, this year has been a profound journey of self-discovery, challenges, and triumphs.
Here are some of the key lessons I learned in 2024, and I hope they resonate with you as well.
1. Consistency is Key to Growth
This year, I embraced consistency as a powerful tool for achieving my goals. Whether it was through my professional work as a health professional , my participation in the ALX Foundations course, or my ventures into writing books on diverse topics, I realized that showing up every day—no matter how small the effort—leads to significant progress over time.
2. Self-Investment Yields the Best Returns
I invested in myself by acquiring new skills like study design, statistical analysis using Python and R, and even some aspect web development using HTML and CSD through platforms like Chisquares. These skills not only enhanced my professional competence but also opened new doors of opportunity. The lesson here? The more you invest in yourself, the more valuable you become.
3. The Power of Collaboration
Being part of teams and communities, whether it was my subgroup in the ALX program or collaborating on various projects and outreaches, taught me the value of working with others. The diverse perspectives, feedback, and support I received from my peers proved that collaboration often leads to better outcomes than going it alone.
4. Adaptability is a Superpower
2024 wasn’t without its challenges. From competitive environment to navigating personal projects, I learned to adapt to changing circumstances. Challenges taught me to stay flexible, focus on solutions, and keep pushing forward.
5. Every Day Brings a New Lesson
Through my journey in 2024, I noticed that each day has its own lesson. I embraced the idea that each day offers something new to learn. From wealth creation to health and philosophy, life’s daily struggles and triumphs are filled with lessons if we choose to see them.
6. Purpose Drives Success
Whether it was contributing to the fight against climate change (my Grand Challenge) or writing books( such as Resolutions Recharged and Effective Followership) to educate and inspire others, I learned that aligning with a higher purpose fuels motivation and leads to meaningful achievements. Purpose gives life direction and makes the hard work worthwhile.
7. Time is Your Most Valuable Resource
One of the most significant lessons I learned is the importance of time management. Balancing work, learning, writing, and personal development taught me to prioritize effectively and make every moment count. Time management is about Self management. When lack management you will never go far.
8. Never Stop Learning
In our fast paced world filled with a lot of distractions I have developed the art of learning very fast and still effective at retaining what you ready. It reaffirmed the importance of lifelong learning. In a world that changes rapidly, staying curious and willing to learn rapidly is crucial for success.
9. Building Systems for Long-Term Success
Through my automated data vending business, I understood the importance of creating systems that work for you. Automating processes not only saves time but also ensures consistency and efficiency.
10. Gratitude is the Greatest Attitude
Lastly, I’ve learned to be grateful—for the challenges that shaped me, the opportunities that came my way, and the people who supported me through it all. Gratitude helps maintain perspective and keeps you grounded even when the road gets tough.
I will leave you with this quote :
No matter your altitude always have the platitude to give gratitude, for that is the right attitude – Dpharmacist 2024
Final Thoughts
2024 was a year of growth, resilience, and purpose. I faced challenges, but I also embraced opportunities and learned invaluable lessons. As I step into 2025, I’m more prepared, more focused, and more determined to make an even greater impact.

Firstly I work with a reputable company here in Nigeria in the maritime sector as a FTE and I get approximately 400k monthly and I am being offered a salary of 3500sr(1.3m) for the Saudi Arabia job. I will only visit my country once in a year, am not married and am 33, n pressure of marriage dey my neck.
Though accomodation and flight expenses will be catered for by the company but I don't know if it's really worth taking the move though I don't know the cost of living in saudi Arabia.... I don't know if you have a saudi Arabia experience.. please I need your inputs...
Thank you very much You will regret it if you don't move. People left 500k job as far back as 2022 for Europe without job waiting for them. You already have a job waiting for you. So you're hitting the ground running |

Daejumong: Should a pastor return money given to the church by a corrupt politician?
Some years back, a high ranking politician donated millions of dollars over a period of time to help the ministry of one of the biggest pastors in Nigeria. The pastor never queried him even though he knew it was beyond the scope of his salary!
Few years down the line, the politician was convicted of massive corruption and had his properties confiscated and bank accounts frozen!
The pastor does not believe he needs to return the money to the government! He believes it is God’s blessings and since he never knew it was acquired illegally, he has no need to give it back . The pastor in question is one of the biggest in Africa and worldwide!
Do you think the pastor is right? Is this similar to spoils of war in the Bible? Is this a case of the sinner’s wealth being stored for the righteous?
Proverbs 13:22: "A good person leaves an inheritance for their children’s children, but a sinner’s wealth is stored up for the righteous." The pastor has no evidence to back that claim. He only know who pays what |

Family › Re: "My Wife's Ex Is Back, And Their Romance Is Rekindling – Should I Walk Away? by femi4: 11:52am On Dec 31, 2024 |
Sapasenator: Hello Nairalanders,
I am completely lost and need advice. My name is Olumide Adeyanju(Not my real name), and I’m a 42-year-old civil engineer based in Lagos. I’ve been married to my wife, Tola, for seven years. We have a son together, Jidenna, who is five years old. Our marriage hasn’t been perfect, but I thought we had something solid—until recently.
When I met Tola, she was a divorcee. She told me her first marriage to a man named Dapo Olatunji ended after three years due to irreconcilable differences and I believed her. According to her, Dapo had anger issues and was overly controlling. She said she left the marriage to protect her mental health and focus on building a better life for herself. At the time, I admired her courage, and we built a beautiful relationship.
Last month, everything changed. Tola and I were invited to a wedding in Lekki. As fate would have it, Dapo was also at the wedding. It was the first time they were seeing each other in nearly 10 years. I noticed they exchanged pleasantries, and while it seemed cordial at first, something about the way they looked at each other didn’t sit well with me.
In the weeks that followed, I started noticing subtle changes in Tola’s behavior. She began acting distant and spending more time on her phone, often smiling at her screen like a teenager in love. When I asked her what was going on, she brushed it off, saying it was just "work stress."
Then, two weeks ago, I came home early from work and found her on a video call with Dapo. She didn’t realize I was home, so I overheard parts of their conversation. They were laughing and reminiscing about their past together—things like how they used to travel to Abuja for weekend getaways and the time he bought her a surprise gift for her birthday. It felt like I was intruding on a private moment between lovers.
When I confronted her, she admitted that she and Dapo had been talking regularly since the wedding. She claimed it was "nothing serious" and that they were just "catching up as friends." But I don’t believe her. Her behavior has changed so much. She’s more secretive, and I even found out she met up with him last Saturday without telling me. She said it was a "closure" meeting, but why does she need closure after all these years?
Now I’m stuck. I love Tola, but it feels like her heart is being drawn back to Dapo. I’ve spoken to my elder brother, Kunle, and he thinks I should stand my ground and fight for my marriage. But my best friend, Tunde, says I should let her go if she’s already emotionally checked out.
I don’t know what to do. Should I confront Dapo directly? Should I give Tola an ultimatum to stop talking to him? Or should I quietly walk away and let her decide who she really wants to be with?
Please, Nairalanders, I need your honest opinions. Have you experienced or heard of a situation like this? How do I handle it? Walk away quietly....You are not the bone of her bone |

SweetBuns: Good day nairalanders. Merry Xmas and a happy new year in advance.
I'll try to make this short and sweet. So I met this guy at my favorite foodspot not too long ago. He was tall, dark, handsome and jacked.... Basically the type of guy I like so I was obviously attracted to him.
He then approached and talked to me. Whilst we were at it, I remember him cracking some very bad jokes (not bad in like an offensive way, but a bit too dry), but for the sake of being polite I went along with it.
We exchanged contacts and met up for a first date not too long after. And to keep things short, he wasn't funny whenever he tried. At all. He did look a bit nervous, but It was still so bad to the extent that I felt uncomfortable watching him try and even guilty if I failed to laugh.
He's also very arkward when it comes to intimacy, the first kiss was really, really arkward and I could tell he was trying his best but......
He also has this habit of sending me some really unfunny memes
Besides that, he is truly loving, warm and sweet. We have a whole lot in common between us and I'm sure I'm attracted to him
Initially I thought it was something related to his initial nervousness and would resolve on its own with time, but things are still the same
I'm a really funny person and Ive realized that I bond best with the people I laugh and play around with.
Is this going to get better with time, or is this just who he is? If he's not funny, try n be the funny one. Complement him or mould your own man. Don't always be at the receiving end, initiate too You want him to be tall, dark, handsome , rich, God fearing, funny, good kisser et al.....my friend, mould your man n let him be |
