Working at Shell might end up not being as rosy as many think. I read the clause that says after 2-5 years of coming in as graduate trainee you become an Independent Shell Contractor. I think that means you only receive salaries and benefits packages for 2-5 years. Then you later become a contractor under shell where you no longer receive salaries but paid only when you have a contract assignment. In the long run the politics involved in securing a contract will be high. I trust Nigeria for that. Then no retirement packages. You just end up being used and dumped.

Please let's spread our tentacles for other opportunities cos I believe there are many companies out there far better than Shell in the long run.

You can also think of starting a business. May end up the best option afterall.

Sorry, I just want to ask two questions, I appreciate your candid advice, I also am I strong advocate of your advice, but

1) did you apply for shell graduate trainee position?
2). If yes or no , why?

You can apply only if you are from oil producing states. More so, hope your school fees is very low, if not, you will need support yourself for extra head cost. I think, the scholarship is between 30,000 dollars or so per year. I stand to be corrected, though.

From your post, you need people's phone number and email. At first, it was for LSU. Then you encompassed the whole south of USA.

BE CAREFUL O..WILL DO MY PART IN REPORTING TO THE APPROPRIATE AUTHORITIES COS I AV BEEN A VICTIM OF A SIMILAR CASE.. if you don't believe me..please carefully Google search the term "iboset", you will find out that it is incipient, everything seems new, d Facebook account, even the LinkedIn and there said they have people who have benefitted from it since yet everything is new as if it jus started and no background at all.. also carefully read the legal notice on their website and d registration from CAC, research on it.. but if you don't still believe, then apply on your on own peril.

I will be starting my doctorate degree at Purdue University, West Lafayette this fall in the materials engineering department, and I hope to share my experience as it was a rollercoaster, tempestuous ( any other adjectives?)journey all through. However, I suck at keeping abreast of discussions plus my phone strangely makes typing Cumbersome grrrr!!!
