Well if you ask me about this German dude...he was perched on a precipice between old style tradition and contemporary modernity as you prolly have come to know it..... He wanted us to be prepared as possible..because if we were not well enough prepared the future we would encounter would be full of negation and despair...what is happening now..

I will say Nietzsche's philosophy is a mix of atheism..nihilism and perspectivism..He believes that there is no objective meaning in the universe..that existence is meaningless and that our values are nothing more than products of our own perspective...

Did you read about his argument? that there are two central ideas in philosophy..which is the idea of God and the idea of the self...
He claimed that both of these ideas were created in order to explain things that could not be explained...He also claimed that God was created to explain the universe and the self was created to explain the experience of consciousness...He argued that both of these ideas are myths that need to be overcome..

He was afraid of what would replace God, and he was opposed to the idea of Atheism.
