Got to d embassy at about 6am.
Mine ws a bit tricky as d lady at d frst window sed dere ws a mstk in my ds160 d sevis no precisely.. ws confused nd wordered aw it happnd.. was so sad i went to d rest room for about 15min.. thinkin aw i wl explain to my people dat my mistake led to my refusal and wre i wl see mony to reapply.. ws convinced i wld b refused cos error on ds 160 is a huge one.. (infct my brodr told me i ws supposed to b sent bak to reapply)
Was d 8th person on line.. was directed to window 2 (female vo). Ws so nervous but immed i stepped in her front i regained composure

Me - in my third year at d uni, my course was modified to agricultural and Environmental Engineering, so i had the opportunity to take a lot of environmental engineering courses.. thats wre i frst pickd the interest so i decided then i would purse it at the masters level....cuts in again

ME- i pickd fsu particularly because they offer specialization in my area of interest which is Environmental remediation processes.. Researsh work are currntly ongoin in bioremediation nano-remediation and even phytoremediation which i have never even heard of. Im so exited and curious to know what phytoremediation is and it can be successful applied to the solution of or environmental challenges.. i have spoken to the professor currntly workin on it about my interest. Prof youeng tang and he has agreed for me to join his research team (first time she let me land)

Me-- i plan to return to my country and work wt d federal ministry of environment becos i bliv it is the right platform for me to gain the much needed practical experience i need. The federal g. Is currently embrkin on a lot of envir project such as the clean up of ogoni land which is a vry huge project that will go on for so many years. Visa approved ds morning..silent follower thought but i will share my transcript for the benefit of others as i really gained from ds site.. advise to applicants.. pls take ur time to go through the thread,dont give in to Laziness cos it will be worth it in d end, read other peoples transcript, get familiar with the questions and how to answer them, practice and pray.. i was asked about 10questions but it wasnt a problem cos i prepared for all. was a bit shakky at first but then i regainned my confidence cos i knew wat to say. Please take yout time to read through there is no question dey will ask u that aint here alredy.. i will also share a list of questions i i compiled and anyone who needs visa prep materials can mail me.. preparation is key. Transcript comin soon..

Vo:I will be approving your visa, collect your passport at your choosen location in the next 4 days and she gave me a while paper.( I wanted to correct her and say it is 3 working days but I couldn't wait to correct her, at this moment I wanted to jump and shout but I compose myself and tell her thank you) people were already looking at me may b because of the time spent or because my voice was aloud enough to receive attention).

VISA APPROVED (20/10/16).I got to the embassy in Abuja around 8:am cos my interview was scheduled for 9:am. I sat down on a chair i paid #200 for and started singing Way Maker by Sinachi,that song didn't leave my mouth till i got into the interview room.It kept my nerves in check and boosted my faith.I got on the line and everyone in front of me was denied,one albino who brought his mother in law for interview got his visiting visa cancelled,the V.O said his wife was leaving in the US illegally.Me i kept saying my case is different cos i be God pikin. It finally got to my turn o.Me:good morning(not sure if he answered).............V.o why are you going to NYFA) ME:It provides intensive training in a short amount of time,it focuses on hands on learning experience as classes are held in studio sets similar to the one used by broadcasters the world over)..........V.o cuts in:how did you find out about this school).......Me: i usually go thru the profile of the people i look up to to have a clear sense of what their journey is about and a couple of them had gone to NYFA,so i did my google research).........V.o:who are some of these people? )..........Me: i mentioned the names)...........V.o:did you apply to other schools).......Me:yes,university of Georgia and Wichita state university).........V.o: why didn't you go to Georgia?.....Me:i was about saying why i chose NYFA again but he said no,i said why didn't u go to Georgia,i now said cos its not as hands on as NYFA)......V.o:what do you do now)........Me:i finished my NYSC in may and i was working for the orientation broadcasting service and i still work with them voluntarily,i have been going on auditions too).....V.o:auditions for what)......Me(to be a T.v presenter,he nodded)......V.o:have you travelled out of Nigeria before?).........Me: i said i have not had the need to)......V.o: who will pay for this).......Me: i got an $8000 scholarship and my elder bro would pay the rest).The V.o was now looking so confused like he was looking for what to ask me(i knew it was God at work)he just gave me the 2white papers.My prayer before the interview was that my bank statement should not be checked cos the money was not enough and it was printed in july,i studied accounting but I'm going for broadcast journalism.God did it.Thanks to everyone and walspring for helping with my sevis fee payment.God is the answer to it all.

Visa approved this morning at Lagos embassy glory be to God in the highest, the alfa and omega, the beginning and end, I started my journey from obalende wia i slept yesternite , on my way going I met met traffic though moving little by little got to embassy some minutes to 6:30am we did normal screening and finger print though it was only one machine or two for the thumb print fast warded to in vo section the first two person in my front were denied one student and a couple my interview goes does.........................................Vo= good morning. . . . . . . . And the most funniest part of it was Dat wen I left embassy am abt to reach under the bridge wia to take obalende bus I was checking my white paper and I sensed Dat my international passport is no more dere na so I turned back, on my way back to embassy na so I remembered Dat wen visa has been issued u won't go home with ur passport dnt mind me it was over excitement lol. . Visa approved today at the Lagos US consulate general office after first denial on Wednesday 19/10/2016.

If at first u don't succeed, dust it up and try again.

If u try, u can either loss or win but if u don't try u have already loss.

Ok, I need serious assistance here...I am planning to apply for my student visa soon. Please I will really appreciate any one who can guide me through the steps to follow. I wanna do my masters in the US. I need to know the very first step to take. l need a step ny step breakdown of the process. Am yet to collect my Certificate and transcript from my school, am I supposed to get those first, or apply to schools first then request for the transcript when I get the admission? Am planning to write GRE, am I supposed to write the exam first before looking up for schools? PLEASE HOUSE, I JUST NEED TO KNOW WHERE TO START FROM. Thanks.

Most schools I read about concerning scholarship/funding that's what they usually state that at each semester student must maintain a certain Gpa to qualify for the scholarship.. Although each schools has their own policy on funding

Maybe those with funding/scholarship who have spent 2 or more semesters should help out on this

I got the same offer. 3.0 should not even give you headache, things are very easy here if you work hard

Sometimes each school can custom how they choose to distribute their funding...its their money their choice
It would have been safer if the offer covered one year but as it only covers per semester depending on 3.0 GPA. ...then what choice do u have ??. Still not a bad deal
You just know from beginning that you must maintain 3.0 or u can lose it. .....personally except u are playing I think 3.0 is attainable so u should be fine.....most funding have a min GPA expectation anyway .....d only other issue is whether d school will then expect u to show a balance for d other semester before releasing i20...I dont know but u have to confirm that. Congrats on the GA... its a tremendous help in this Buhari economy

wrong! if you get your admission to the US, you can apply for the visa from germany, close your blocked account and withdraw all your money. I know of someone in Bonn who did exactly this last winter.

@fesobi92 if what acedboss said is true.I believe u can follow the Germany procedure after u gained usa admission in Germany u can apply for your visa in Germany and withdraw all ur money from Deutsch bank.I hope this one help.thanks

Got admission from university of Gottingen and expecting Heidelberg's decision too. at the same time, I applied to some usa universities for spring 2017 (starting January 2017) with a possibility of a full ride scholarship. am in confusion as to what to do. Do I proceed with the admission from Germany? if I do? what r my chances if I apply for a USA visa in Germany? (less than 3months of arrival into Germany).
Make no mistake Germany is a good country with one of the best education. however, schooling in USA is a dream.
