U can only apply for visit visa to USA in Germany not the student visa.my oga at the top can add and remove to my suggestion above. University of Göttingen is also a nice school. I think the University is ranked top 150 - 200 in the world

thanks boss for your input. I just visited the us embassy site (Germany) now, they said one can apply for a student visa in any us consulate but the challenge will be how to proof ones home tie so it will depend on the vo's discretion to issue the visa or not. on the block acc money, I think I once read about someone who funded his acc before interview and was unfortunately denied. he said he filled out some form and his money was refunded, not the complete amount tho. but I don't know how the process is or how long it takes?

Actually, am trying to work against any "what if" situations and wanted to make sure I start my graduate studies latest Jan so that I won't waste time with admission and all. I want to find out if I would be able to apply for a visa in Germany if eventually am given a fully funded scholarship in US.

Got admission from university of Gottingen and expecting Heidelberg's decision too. at the same time, I applied to some usa universities for spring 2017 (starting January 2017) with a possibility of a full ride scholarship. am in confusion as to what to do. Do I proceed with the admission from Germany? if I do? what r my chances if I apply for a USA visa in Germany? (less than 3months of arrival into Germany).
Make no mistake Germany is a good country with one of the best education. however, schooling in USA is a dream.

I haven't lived in New Jersey so its gonna be ''hearsay'' information I will give you. If you are considering NJIT, best to search on google the cost of living and possibly how to survive there. Yeah its expensive, I know someone going to NJ for masters but then she has a family there so accommodation taken care of. There are folks schooling in NJ, they dont have 2 heads. Everything is about planning. if lets say NJIT gives you full funding are you gonna abandon it cuz of cost of living? I mean you should have some money to sustain you on a full ride, that should be cool

NJIT is a very good school. One of the best in NJ. But its expensive. Call the grad cord and if funding is available then apply. If you get funding consider the sch strongly. I mean for PhD you gotta get funded cuz of the length of program+ stay

you are right brother. however, I contacted their respective graduate coordinator about the possibility of funding and they said yes, I should apply. in fact, one of them said I'll have an advantage cos few people apply for spring. so funding will not be as competitive like fall.

I think both of em r tryna give us what is obtainable over there. personally, I believe our "why" should be the motivating force. why? why would I want to leave my 90k/300k paying job for germo? why would I want to sell my house for a dream? why would I want to sell my danfo that's earning me sth aidY? why would I want to switch my comfort zone in Nigeria where I know a lot ta people aidy for germo where I know nobody except God? it's a personal and thought provoking question which u have to be honest with yourself.
once you know your why is worth all your landed properties even with any inheritance(in case u have one) or borrowed money ,then why not? I am a dreamer. I love dreams and I aggressively pursue them streetly (in olamides voice). if your dream is to pursue an MSc probly following that up with a PhD, why start thinking about "if things nor work nko or if I nor see job". shuu! nawa you oooh. it's your dream man. chase it. I heard u need the language to increase your chances of getting a Job after studies, man what r u doing now? reading this epistle? start now(with a street mindset). if u r IT related, be proficient in at least a programming language. Get yourself pimped soteh u go become hard to refuse for any potential employer. From my little experience, it's about what u can do not what u have studied in school. forget naija graduate mentality, get acquainted with the reality. love-vendor yourself with the necessary skill and wait on God to do the best. On the renewal issh, I think the ancestors should tell us how they go about theirs. you guys keep saying students job o, e no easy,e nor shegba, pepese kan, e no shey kinikankinikan (mean no disrespect Biko, edakun) and u r still there u never come back house. tell us how u do am. I know of scholarship for outstanding students after the first year e.g. Heidelberg Msc scientific computing dey give 800yuros (nor mind the spelling ) for top 25% students. who tell us say we nor fit tip the class? additionally, u can apply for other available scholarship. haba!shey we nor fit find sponsors for the second year ni sef? nawa oo. I believe there must be a way out aside depending on people home for second year funding(well nah the ancestors sabi pass).
my point is, let your reason for going germo be strong so that when the challenges come, you will be strong and conquer.
