Chidolalar: Wow this is so insightful and informative. From what u wrote, then I wonder why people always condemn the UK. How I wish I can just see myself in the UK, US or Australia and enjoy the benefits of living in a sane country where things works for the common man. As it is now in Nigeria, there is no futuristic hope for the common man in Nigeria. And migrating out of Nigeria now to these working countries like the UK, US, Canada, Australia is now very expensive and difficult. People you see condemning Life in the Uk are either 1. The deported ones 2.The ones who could not secure their stay and were forced to come back to Nigeria 3.The sadist who do not want other member members of their families explore such opportunities 4.The ones who came on visitors visa and were not allowed to work 5.The ones whose application were refused from Nigeria And lastly the ones who can’t even afford the cost and expenses of coming to Uk |

fastseo: No starter should consider London because everything you pay is twice or even thrice elsewhere from house rent to gas to electricity bills.
An example is a two bedroom house rent which could go over 1800 to 2000+ per month excluding gas and electricity bills in London then places in Scotland or Northern England where you could see same house for 500 pounds per month
Exactly what I preach too
Even in Scotland like Aberdeen 2bedroom is 650ponds..Same minimum wages everywhere o
My neighbour rented a 3 bedroom flat this month for 450 pounds...
The salary structure is exactly same with that of London... Makes no sense.
So anyone complaining ask him if he is a student or how much is house rent is, does he spend soo much on luxury like buying expensive clothes, shoes, mortgages on expensive cars etc because u can't eat ur cake and have it |

Chidolalar: Which work are u doing that your one day wage can conveniently feed you for a month and your 4 days wages can conveniently pay your transport fee for a month The minimum wage in the UK is approximately £11 per hour. If you work for 8-10 hours a day, your daily earnings would range between £80-£100. This makes the UK an affordable place to live, especially if you manage your finances wisely. Food Expenses Food is one of the cheapest commodities in the UK. For example: Poultry: A kilo of chicken or turkey costs around £4. Buying 5 kilos would amount to £20. Rice: A 4kg bag of rice is priced at about £4.50. Purchasing 16kg would also cost approximately £20. Oil: Groundnut oil costs about £2 for 2 litres at stores like Lidl. Eggs: A crate of eggs is just £1.99. With these prices, even someone earning the minimum wage can comfortably afford basic food items. Transportation Expenses Transportation in the UK is also budget-friendly. A monthly bus pass typically costs the equivalent 60-66pounds…which is just about your 6hours daily pay(at minimum wage) This ensures affordable and reliable mobility across cities. Housing Costs Housing is the largest expense for most people in the UK. For a single person, renting a single apartment with bills included in major cities (outside London) costs around £400-£600 per month. 2 bedroom flat is arround 700-1300 pounds base on the city you are excluding London and you don’t have any business with 2bedroom if u are still single. This amounts to about 6 days of work on minimum wage if you rent only single apartment. To live affordably, avoid unnecessary loans such as car loans or phone loans, and start in modest accommodations. As your career progresses, you can gradually upgrade your lifestyle. General Living in the UK Living a decent life in the UK is achievable even on a minimum wage. If you work full-time and earn around £1,700 after taxes, you can cover your basic expenses comfortably. Converting any leftover earnings to Nigerian Naira (where £1 equals approximately ₦2,000) highlights the financial benefits of being in the UK. Building a Future If you're living with a spouse and both of you are earning and cooperating, your financial potential doubles. This makes it easier to save, invest, and achieve your goals. These calculations are based on reliable figures and reflect the realities of living in the UK. With a valid work visa and disciplined financial planning, the UK offers incredible opportunities for a better life |

If you come to the UK with the right visa (work visa), I can guarantee you will live a much better life, almost like heaven on earth. Nigerians who complain about the UK being bad are often those who came through the wrong means, such as buying fraudulent work visas (COS) and then getting stranded, or coming through visiting visas. If you come through these channels, you will regret leaving Nigeria.
However, if you come as a student, having paid your full tuition fees before leaving Nigeria, or you come through a work visa, the experience is completely different.
For instance, my one-day wages in the UK can conveniently feed me for a month. My transport expenses for the month are just five hours of wages out of my eight-hour workday. My house rent and bills amount to just four days' wages, and I work for 20 days.
I speak in parables. When I convert how much I have left to naira is in 6 figures after all monthly expenses. Let me add that this is not just my experience but also that of most of my people here who came with the right type of visa and are not overstayed immigrants.
Well in as much you not in the UK, you will continue with this propaganda. I have stayed in the UK for just 2 and half years and what I have been able to achieve, I can’t in Nigeria for 9years. It displeased me when people that haven’t been somewhere would be discouraging people not to go. Well best of luck to people who diligently study places and plan towards moving. Peace |

It is wrong to ask for payment when you are a member of a church and still get your source of livelihood elsewhere. You cannot be working in the bank, a company etc, and still tell your pastor to pay you because you are a drummer, instrumentalist, etc. Does it mean you cannot help God's house without being paid? If church instrumentalist be paid then Sunday school teachers, ushers, sanctuary keepers,Ministers, choirs, technical department officers and every other people working in the house of God be paid . I pray the lord gives us Wisdom. It's a personal decision though. As for me and my family,we choose to serve in God's vineyard with our Gods given gift and talent free. Lets assume Jesus didn't abolish it, Making it free will , If u do things that God hates, ur tithe is equally useless to him. You are still young and you have got lots of opportunities here bro. I Had to log in because of this trend and because we are in the same age bracket. psalmsjob: You guys focus on the money earned but not on what the money earned can purchase....the purchasing power of the money. See another analysis for you to stop Lmao
If our bobo londoner works for the standard 8 hours per day and earning £10 per hour and he works for 5 days a week; he would have earned = £10 x 8 hours = £80/ day x 5 days/week = £400/week x 4 weeks = £1,600 per month. With this earning bobo londoner is taking nothing home at month end and cannot afford to buy that kind of £10 food every day if he does he might be in debt see why:
Now for bobo pays average of £1,480 for house rent monthly and pays average of £140 for transportation to work. That's £1,480 + £140 = £1,600 per month ONLY . If bobo londoner tries to buy his £10 food everyday as man must wak that's £10 x 30 days = £300 per month.
Therefore, bobo londoner must werk on Saturdays to survive that's £80 x 6 days × 4 weeks = £1,920 - £1,480 - £140 - £300 = £0.00 per month
So Bobo Londoner must werk on Sundays to have £80 at every month end
Workers in Nigeria do not work on Saturdays and Sundays before you start your comparison again That your sampling is biased. If that's the case for everyone no one would come to the UK. If you want to Live a Luxury Lifestyle and don't want to have any savings back home then UK is not for you. People here Rent 3 bedroom apartments and let out rooms(share apartment) and they have huge and reasonable savings at the end of the month. And within some few years of consistent (3-5years) savings they get their own Mortgage. Priorities Matters Oga. Why would you earn 1600 and pay 1480.Is that 1480 for a room or 2bedroom. If London no pay you then you move to more viable cities. Don't use your extravagant Lifestyle to compare with people with good savings Culture. You can make it easily here in the UK if you know what you are doing. |

UK & US ARE OVER-RATED NIGERIA IS STILL BETTER in terms of cost of living see a practical example why doing a price comparison: 1 pound to 1 naira today is N1,001 so are you saying with £10 x N1,001 = N10,001 you cannot buy everything in that basket and collect change in Nigeria today?
1 Sliced Bread = N800 2 Spaghetti = N1400 1 Gesha = N600 1 live chicken = N3,000 1 75cl soya Oil = N1,400 1 Midium size Butter = N600 2 Gino Tomato paste = N1,000
Total = N8,800 so your change is N1,200 that's if you exchange pound to naira at offical rate and buying at the most expensive stores or high brands. If you exchange at black market rate and buy at public market "days" you will collect as much as N6,000 after buying everything in that basket....that's about £6 left.
LET'S JUST THANK GOD FOR WHAT WE HAVE AND STOP LOOKING AT AND GLORIFYING ANOTHER MAN'S LAND MORE THAN OUR OWN....OUR OWN NA OUR OWN O The Op is bereft of ideas and he does not know he's bereft.
