oh, I do believe that spirits exist, after all, I am possessed by one by virtue of being born-again. (Yes, to be born-again is to be possessed by the Spirit of Eternal Life - John 3 vs 1-21.) If you have the Biometric Residence Permit (BRP) as a student, worker or a dependant, you could enter and go out so far you have your money for flight and informed your school or took permission from your place of work.

That your kind of scenario is common in Canada, Australia and US where people that are extremely fortunate to enter with tourist visa or student visa and decided not to go again.

I have decided to rant out my predicaments on this forum today.

What is the way out of poverty for me?

One inlaw is even living with us, making it 8 in number, all in one room.

This thing don come big pass me.

I know most of you here would blame me for impregnating a woman to give birth to that number of children but then, life is life. It happens like that sometimes.

They say a poor man's prayer is "e go better" but instead of things to get better in Nigeria, everyday things get worse.

Truth is, except I drive myself out of this mess to a better life for me and my children, this poverty that is so stricken will likely be extended to my children, which I really don't want.

No two ways about it except ...

But like a car without tyres, can it move even if it has fuel? Definitely no.

For 4 days now, I sleep outside in an abandoned car because of financial war at home. I can't go back home and I even feel like never to go back there but should I abandon them like that and run away? To where?

When I went to the market the other day with 5k to buy food items for the house, I was crying and talking to myself on my way back because I came back with almost nothing.

Nigeria have succeed to plug life out of poor Nigerians. The poor cannot breathe again. Let's die and go.

Advice: never give birth when you are not financially strong. Unfortunately, I've learned my lesson the hard way.

Nice thread brother. If you can afford to start the business, pls do ooooo. I follow join the japa train, paid 18k pound for skul fees, house rent in london is abt 1500 pounds monthly, as a student, you can only work max 20hrs a week in the UK. I will not say i am regretting, but i will advice be financially capable before you consider japa. Depression and the bills are real in europe.

Based on tips, I had to attend an interview today. The information was that if I am shortlisted, I will start work latest first week of March. So I was very happy and ready to do anything to attend the interview.

As an applicant without a kobo, I had to kneel down begging a neighbour before he borrowed me 1k to enable me pay my way. The transport fare to and from was to gulp N400 or more.

My in and out was just the 1k. In fact, my feeding was also inside the 1k - everything. So it was a priceless 1k that every kobo was very important.

Early in the morning, I heard people arguimg over the deadline for new naira notes. People refused to collect the old naira notes.

So I boarded a bus with the N1000 note which I paid to the conductor. My transport fare was N100. When I came down, the conductor gave me new N500 note and two old N200 notes, making it N900. I refused to collect the old N200 notes. He insisted he didnt have new naira notes to change for me. Argument ensued as I refused to collect the old notes.

Like I said, that was the only money with me. So I didnt want to take any chances of collecting old notes that I will later not be able to use. So in the midst of the argument, he wanted to move and leave, I tried to stop him by gently holding his t-shirt. I didnt know his polo shirt was that soft. Unluckily for me, the polo got torn.

That was how war was declared. The conductor and the driver descended on me. They first targeted at tearing my shirt too despite showing remorsefulness over getting his shirt torn. Not once, not twice, they kept tearing my shirt till at some point, I put a resistance. Of course that couldn't be without a fight. I won't lie, those guys dealt with me. Two agbero hands descending on one non-agbero hand. Before people could intervene, they tore my shirt and a part of my trouser, gave me serious bruises, got me so dirty and stopped me from attending the interview.

I went back home like a mad man.

A very sad day for me.

May God help and bless me with a well-paid job.

Ok please can you put a figure to what is realistic. Assuming we are ready to work like mad, hustle with any job available. Or may be the wife should be the one on student visa to allow the highly educated husband hustle for a living.

YOU DO NOT KNOW THE GRACE YOU HAD FROM GOD... shey someone who entered univesity at 23 or 25 FOR the wrong course and had to switch to the right course and start afresh then graduated at 31 with 2-1 and then nysc at 32... remember he went to school with girls who are UNDER 26... so many of them are usually NOT understanding or serious with REAL LIFE TIME COMMITMENT.... after NYSC he needs a JOB that is requiring 4 years experience and under 35yrs old applicants....

BIKO, will you allow your own blood sister or cousin marry such a guy? will the future seem bright to you? which PARENT in this age will dash their daughter to such a guy

When you advice people, pls consider that NOT ALL FINGERS ARE EQUAL and remember that your level is someone's prayer point... I have sen guys marry at 20+ struggle to have children till 40+... and I have seen 40+ give birth to twins and triplets. Pls let's be guided... LIFE IS THE OPPOSITE OF SCHOOL.... School will teach you before it tests you... LIFE WILL TESTS YOU, EXAM YOU then you will learn the lesson.

Some followed this man's advice and now are too broke to even come online to complain... they married so early in the name of things will be better... then BOOOOMMMM wife delivers twins or triplets... or something else happens... and the meager 150k salary became minus 200k debt.... and over the years... the man has become bitter and sad that HE WAS LIED TO and those who lied to him that made him rush into marriage on a low salary, have all abandoned him.... Now they vehemently advice anyone against making their own mistake. THAT'S ONE SIDE OF THE COIN...

THE NEXT SIDE.... they married early, favor, luck or whatever good spirit, shined on them and things began to boom so well and now they are doing well and they think it is because they married early so they advice everyone else to marry early thinking everyone else has the same luck they had. THAT IS THE OTHER SIDE OF THE COIN.


So you see, no two marriages will have the same story... everyone can actually know which side of the coin they belong to. Sadly we lie to ourselves alot in Nigeria... meanwhile abroad, a 40 years old getting married is still very much celebrated like a 20 years old... age is just a number. Getting your life working wella before marriage is what counts.

Switch from Chemistry to Health Sciences instead.

Your background in Chemistry should give you a foundation for Health Sciences. You are already familiar with chemical composition, you can easily understand the drugs. For you to have graduated Chemistry, you must have drawn so many molecular diagrams, therefore, you will be able to handle diagrams in Health Sciences.

Chemical Engineering is a different thing entirely. If you had studied Chemical Engineering, your mindset will be different from a Chemistry graduate. Where you would have been applying to work by now will be different. Your approach to the job market will be different. You cannot switch now. You will just be a black sheep lost in the crowd. Pick Health Sciences instead.

Hello everyone. My sister has a visa biometric appointment tomorrow morning 14/12/2022. She did her TB test today 13/12/2022 hoping she would collect the result today and go for the visa biometric tomorrow with assisted service. However, she was asked to do the TB scan twice and later was told to see the Dr. Dr said the result is abnormal that she needs to come by next Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday for examination and she can now get a result after 10 weeks. Meanwhile, her course starts on January 7 2023 and the school said she must be present for matric on that day. Note that her husband and child have their TB test results already today.

Please what step can she take next:
1. Defer admission to September 2023?
2. Is it possible to ask for refund of school deposit?
3. If she defers for September, when is the earliest she can apply for visa?
4. If she collects a negative TB result after 10 weeks, can she still use it for September admission, as the validity of TB result is 6 months.
5. What's the earliest she can apply for CAS for September start if she defers?
6. Is there any luck if she goes ahead with the visa biometric tomorrow?
7. Can the dependants (husband and son) go ahead with the biometrics without her?
8. If they all cancel their visa application, will there be refunds of both IHS and Visa fees; and when is the latest they can cancel?

Sorry for so many questions. Thanks in anticipation for your kind feedbacks.

I’m confused right now and need a solution!!

I’m actually working (45k month) and I’m also doing business but my business is booming sometimes I sell close to (150-200k a month) and the work is really giving me small stress sha! It a government work. I’m thinking of quitting and focusing on my business but I’m scared that if I quit I will loose to opportunity of doing government work or what if my business crash tomorrow.. I got banned tonight and now inadmissible to Canada for the next 5 years. I am devastated. This is the saddest day of my life beside my father's death

I just got my cas for my admission in UK and at the stage to apply for study visa to UK having paid my tuition fees. I am considering requesting for refund of my fees but I see from the school site that there must be tangible reason to request for refund e. g Visa refusal, I have not been refused UK Visa yet because I have not even applied. Visa application fee is too high for an application that has very slim chances of success. It will be double pain to proceed with the Visa application and be rejected and the school seemingly not ready to make refund without a concrete reason.

I need advise please my people

Did your father build the house? If yes the house belongs to you and she has no right to send you away. Stop touching her things or money. Stay put there but spend yoir money for feeding and other things don’t use her things.

I wanna know if I can still use Form A for payment, and meetup with the deadline. I haven't been issued CAS, as the school needs me to pay 50 percent of my fees for them to give me CAS certificate. The school resumes Jan 23rd. Any advise

I have an issue, my visa was granted but when I went to pick it, they wrote entry date 16/12/2012 instead of 2022, I saw it and they apologized and send I should leave it, they will send it back so that it can be rectified.

Two days after, I got a mail from UKVI with the the letter your vignette has been successful with the correct dates.

Normally I should get the deliver mail and collection mail 2 days after, it’s been more than a week and nothing from the TLS, I even went there today and they said it’s not ready.

As anyone experienced an error and how was it rectified?
