uncover:
Yes.

You mean you paid £55? At the centre or while booking for appointment?
Travel / Re: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part 3 by fg17: 6:47pm On Aug 28, 2016
Please those that used the Ikeja VAC recently, did you have to pay for any extra charge to use the centre? Below is an information I saw on VFS website about Ikeja Centre:

An additional fee of £55 will be charged to use this visa application centre. You must pay this fee at the same time you pay your visa fee and before you attend the visa application centre. Failure to pay this fee in advance will result in your appointment being cancelled.

That depend largely on the specification of the gadget, how much does laptop/iphones cost in Nigeria? Then i can tell you whether its cheaper here or in Nigeria

Oga Justwise, thanks for the reply. as you pointed out the cost of laptops in Nigeria will also depend on the specification eg. doucore AMD processors with 4g RAM and about 500g HD could cost about N80k upward. While recent android phones are from N35k.

I think buying gadget frm any side has its advantage. 9ja is cheaper on the long run but you feel more secure when you do that in the UK whc is expensive. In my opinion, buy your phone ib 9ja and maybe get a sim only contract line at a cheap price, though mostly for UK calls only and not international calls. One big advantage of buying gadgeta here is the insurance u get with it but the 9ja ones do not have such and the fate of your gadgets are left in your hands, incase of theft, damage or loss.
I will say dont miss buying your Laptop here in the UK though very expensive compared to 9ja. We all know how funny laptops can get at times.

Ok, thanks for the response. it's just I am thinking of leaving my laptop behind and getting a new one in UK. On the phone I now think I do better buy here in Nigeria, as it will also proffer the opportunity to be on the net as soon as I arrive. Meanwhile I have to be taking some shots and uploading while on transit and once . Lol

While I don't really know how to go about buying this gadgets in the UK,I can volunteer some sites. I've checked out e.g. clove.co.uk,amazon, ebay (please be careful to transact biz with ONLY those who have high ratings on this site until you understand how their process works),Argos, phones4U,carphonewarehouse, pcworld, laptopdirect etc
As you will see it is FAR cheaper to purchase gadgets like PC's and phones in Nigeria than the UK only that UK offers more ease and variety
Note that phones in UK as in many developed nations comes with contracts or are carrier locked unlike Nigeria which is typically unlocked and carrier free
Also from the little calculations I've done, you pay a VAT of about 20% on this items, though purchasing here in Naija will increaae your luggage weight
Please do your research well to make the best choices before leaving Naija wink cheesy wink

vivichocs: hey fg, I will be applying for the Commonwealth Scholarship this year, will appreciate any advice from you as regards what to do so as to be among d lucky winners..secondly what kind of questions were you asked during the interview? ...tanx in anticipation. .

tried sending u a pm buh wasnt successful so had to quote u here..

I am actually for the Commonwealth Shared Scholarship. The one the UK Unis nominate candidates for, not the regular on the country nominates and call for interview. though whichever one, all you need is to follow the instructions for applicants and put up a good personal statement and justifications, follow through. After you have done all there is to(your best) then you leave the rest to the Almighty God in prayers, for HE has the final say.

Never had to attend any interview as a shared scholarship candidate. Have seen your PM and will reply, so watch out.

Wish you all the best, "It's Possible"

workinprogress: @justwise and @everybody Pls if u miss ur visa appointment date....do u have to fill out another online form or can u still use the online form u already have...also do u need to get a new CAS number because I have forgotten my reference number hence I can't reschedule or print my appointment letter and I don't know how to retrieve it as I got no email from vfs....so I think I should miss my appointment date and redo another one....or does anyone know any other way to get my reference number or solve this problem.....pls help its urgent

You can schedule with same CAS after the expiry of the initial schedule. This time you have to be cautious and either print immediately or save the page and print later. better still you can copy the Ref No. out.
