seal777: TO THE GLORY OF GOD : SEAL 777, VISA GRANTED 7 FEBRUARY, 2013.
I had my visa interview this morning at the Lagos embassy in what i can consider the easiest and cheapest interview by a nairalander and my visa was granted.
Depart home 6.05 am, got to the embassy gate 6.58, submit 2nl and cleared with a tag number B417, went through security check and made payment in the interview hall, called at window 15 for submission of original and photocopies of credentials and was ask to wait for my number to be called.
I was there 2 years ago for a study visa which was denied but the whole arrangement has changed compare to 2011 with all activities brought under one roof in an open hall.
I sat in the front row so as to have a better view of other people's interviews but was forced to leave my seat for an elderly woman who wanted to sit close to her son. I ended up sitting at the full glare of the slim white lady of window 16 and I would confess, she was very direct and straight to business unlike others who were very calm and much more friendly in their interviews.
After hours of waiting, I.saw the white guy in window 14 talking to another white chubby guy in the cubicle showing him my credentials in the process and few minutes after that I was called by the white guy in window 14 for my interview.
My interview lasted for less than 5 minutes and it goes thus:
Co: Good Morning Me: Good Morning, how was your nite? Co: Good
TOOK MY FINGER PRINT AND TAKE OATH
Co : Are you ( he mentioned my Surname ). Me: Before he could mention it I completed the names and told him, very correct. Co: What is your highest level of education. Me: Bachelor of science in accounting. Co: Which school is that? Me: Obafemi Awolowo Univerisity, ile ife Co: did you observe the national service? Me: Yes Co: Where? Me: Kabba, Kogi state Co: What was ur service all about? Me: Teaching Co: What are u doing currently? Me: I am the Business Development Manager in my own company ( i had the registration certificate but he never ask me ).
He kept typing and later brought out one white form and circled an address and told me my application is fsvourable and should go and pick my visa next and make sure I pay the 165 dollar green card processing fee.
CO"S INTERVIEW ROLL CALL FOR THE DAY :
Black lady in window 13 : Granted 4, Denied 2
White Guy in window 14 granted 5 visas ( including mine and curiously granted a guy his visa without WAEC. Denied 1
(THE GUY CLAIMED HE NEVER SAT FOR WAEC IN HIS SCHOOL BECAUSE HIS PARENTS COULD NOT AFFORD 34,000 TO PAY BUT INSTEAD OPT FOR GCE WHICH IS MORE CHEAPER 6,500 ). HE NEVER TOOK WAEC AT ALL.
White lady in window 16 Granted 2 visas ( 1 dv and one other to little girl on filling ) Denied 4 married couples ( all with 2- 3 children each ) Pending 1 married ( ask to wait for appraisal of their case ) i left them there anyway. God is my witness, my interview lasted between 2 to 4 minutes because of his typing and was the shortest and simplest of the whole interview I observed in the hall.
Kudos to Kemzone for the indepth links, very educative and informative and to other guys in the house GOD BLESS US ALL.
ALLAHU AKBAR, HIS MIGTY NAME BE PRAISED FOR HIS MERCIES. Me: bef Congrats, welkam on board. |

I woke up as early as 4 a.m, prepared and ready to face any CO at the embassy. I prayed, wore my suite and tire and set of to the embassy. I reached there exactly 5:30 a.m and looking around I was the second person to reach the embassy. I waited under the tree outside the embassy very refreshed and ready. A pastor come around where we were sitting prayed and shared the word of God with us. By the time it was 6:00 a.m a lot of people came around also waiting to be called in for interview. I had a hint to make sure I was part of the first 10 in the line so I started walking towards the gate. At 6:45 we were called in for security checks. I left all coins and mobile fon out just to avoid long hours of wait. I just went tru without any hindrance. I paid my VISA fee and my documents were checked n they collected all thus both original and photocopies. I was called to window 4. I realized that CO denied abt 3 people due to incomplete documents and other reasons...on filling my dv lottery I made a mistake in D.O.B and wrote 1990 instead of 1987, I swore an affidavit and took it along in case I was asked abt it, to be frank I was soo scared, I prayed n left all to God. CO: Gud morning Me: Gud morning CO: raise ur hand n swear to tell the whole truth Me: I did n swore CO: showed me my form I sent to KCC and asked me to answer question 41 before we continued, which was abt weda I hav been arrested b4. Me: I did n she asked me to sign beside it CO: she then made me take the oath again to tell the truth Me: I did just that CO: which year did u complete secondary school Me: I told her CO: what did u do after u completed SHS? Me: I was waiting to be admitted into the university CO: ok, how many times did you write WASSCE? Me: once CO: which University did u attend? Me: told her CO: when did you complete? Me: told her CO: what program did u study? Me: BSc Economics and Business Administration She picks up a blue sheet half of A4 paper and circled the DV and asked me to come pick up my VISA on 8th Feb 2013. CO: congratulations and thanks for coming Me: Thank you CO: dnt make any preparations until u take your VISA. Me: Ok thank you. God has really answered my prayers and that of my friends, family and everybody. I was never asked abt the DOB issue. Thanks to all who help and adviced me along the way. Ghana and Nigeria are really brodas and sisters n I tink we should combine our two countries into one cos we think the same....hahaha that's just by the way. Sori for my long story tho |

idoo4love: All thanks to God for his favour and mercies. I got to d embassy at about 8.am and I had to wait cos my interview was scheduled for 10am . I paid 300 naira for d chair cos my friend accompanied me .Went in at about 9.45am and I was given a blue card . Several security check and I even had to remove my belt . I was called by a black man but I told him I was yet to pay and dat the cashier was not on seat. So he called her to attend to us. I made payments (54,500) and was told to seat. Ahhh I Sat down for over 3hours and I listened to several interview sections. You go fear God ooooooo. At about 2.10pm I was called to window 13 and joy filled my heart . So......
Me : gud afternoon and welcome back (cos she went on break)... Co : gud afternoon and thank you. Co: What's your year of birth Me : kkkkkkk Co: bt in your application it says ..... Me: it was an human error and I attached a letter to d forms I sent . Co :okay What do u do now Me : am a student Co : which skul Me : kkkkkk Co : course Me : kkkkkkk Co : level Me : kkkkkkk Co : wow Co : tell me about d courses u're offering dis semester Me : kkkkk (and even d 1 I did last semester cos couldn't remember and den I had to jst say somtin without waiting a second ) Co : tell me about "iiiiii" course Me : kkkk (jst said sumtin relating to d course wit boldness lol) Co : okay congratulations (she picked up a typed document and circled d address... Go to that address and pick up ur passport) and she gave me back my original documents . Me : thank you (I jst packed my documents and ja commot for there b4 dem go con call me back dey throw me question lol ).. And guess want all these didn't last up to 6mins . My God is a God of perfection ..HE KNOWS MY NAME,HE SEES ALL AND HAS D KEY IN HIS HANDS..
LESSON DERIVED : 1. Master ur olevel "i.e. Waec" welllla even if u av a bsc cos d woman in window 16 likes asking questions on it. I witnessed a lady's interview and she was denied "sad". 2. When ever u pray, always tell God u want d Co that will grant u ur visa regardless of d "window"..And God will prove himself strong in ur life... Even if u are to be interviewed by d lady in window 16.... Like sum1 will always say here ,"FAITH WORK WONDERS" ... Be bold and make sure u say something even if u're not sure. D Co dos nt knw ur lectures, pastors ,courses ,friends and family in ur photo album etc (incase dem ask for names....jst say something meaningful.... They jst wanna hear from u.. That's all...infact I mentioned a topic as course. Once again special thanks to boss Temmy for his selfless support, care ,callssssss , mails, in fact he helped me with a sample of d letter I attached. imagine that... How on earth will I forget u and ur good works. God bless u and ur family. May he be there for u all d time . And to every1 here (even d dv 2011 winners) I say a very "BIG" thank you to u all. Ur posts and comments really helped. Above all PRAY AND THRUST IN GOD..He's working on ur case .. HE his d master key!!! Congratulations for your successful interview... Your interview has given some of us hope n joy cos I made a similar mistake in the year of birth, I typed 1990 instead of 1987. I hope its a similar mistake as yours? |

House wat do u tink abt this...I knw a friend who has won the DV 2013, he won tru an agent. He filled the form 4 years ago n the agent kept on playing every year with his particulars till he finally won. One day he was called by the agent to his office to see the 1st NL for him self. He did that n they both went tru the process, they visited the official site n opened the letter for him to see n also withholding the confirmation number form him. They 2gether filled the forms and all the necessary documents and he become current and received the 2nd NL. Now the agent has asked my fren to get ready with the following: 1. 500 dollars as processing fee 2. 5000 dollars as consultation and service charge Total: 5500 dollars was requested from him b4 he will be given his confirmation number and the other documents. His due for interview last week of January. He is thinking of stopping the whole process, what do u tink he should do? He is in Ghana tho... |
