Did the OP say 'the peaceful university town'? Like seriously, this is not new to Uli na... I did my SS class there and cases of murder occur almost every month. It is even a slogan... "Uli ama ọgọ", which means that the Uli person is so brutal, even to his own inlaw. As for the abracadabra boxing Pastor... It is your end |

I'm not against tithing. But I believe it is for the 'levites' and not the ordained priests. The purpose for tithing have been abused no doubt, by the Shepherds. Albeit, tithing should not be preached against. We should rather start a campaign that will admonish the priests who misuse it, and persuade them to do the right thing. The priest who receive it from the lay should make sure it goes to the 'levites', and not keep it to themselves. Aaron(a priest) had no inheritance nor allowed to take tithe... But the Levites(his clan people) who are not ordained but help him in the tent are to receive the tithes

It was a Black Wednesday December 20th 2017 for the students of English and Literary Studies of Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University (formerly Anambra State University) in particular and the whole University community at large, as a 300Level student Died after a brief illness. The deceased, Miss Oluchi Okoro (aka Fabulous Baeluchi) was said to have attended 8am lectures on Wednesday, complaining of headache. As normal with most students, she took only panadol extra. Later, in the night, things became worse and the CBN Hostel inmates, alerted the school's Medical center, who could not do anything but referred her to the School's Teaching Hospital at Amaku, Awka. She was taken to the teaching hospital in the school's Ambulance. On getting there, she was denied treatment by the medical personnel on duty citing the unavailability of her school ID card. According to a friend who was with her when she eventually died about three hours after arriving the teaching hospital, "they refused to attend to her unless we provide her school ID card. We pleaded, telling them that she is a bona-fide student, that had she not been she would not be living in the hostel, and not driven down to the hospital by the school's Ambulance. But our pleas fell on deaf ears. Consequently, Oluchi died about three hours later." It is more saddening to know that as soon as she died, her lifeless body was deposited into the mortuary, without any deposit, or a request for the ID card in the same Hospital. Requiescat in Pace young soul. https:///p96XF3-10uO

I don't know why someone will bring The Late Ikemba to this. For those saying rubbish about the school's name, Is it a bad thing that the school formerly known as Anambra State University was renamed after a son of the soil? Or you would have preferred it to be named after Robert Mugabe or maybe Bola Tinubu. The guy understands the electorate. A school with over 75% female voters. Anything to get their attention is welcomed. Machiavelli once said "Money(Success) is Welcomed, even if it comes in a dirty Sack" |
Professor Wole Soyinka, the 1986 Nobel Prize winner in Literature, has won this year’s The Europe Theatre Prize. Announcing the award, the General Secretary, The Europe Theatre Prize, Alessandro Martinez, said Professor Soyinka won the Special Prize category of the award for his consistency “as a proponent of an ideal bridge between Europe and Africa in a deeply delicate period for the present and the future of our continent.” The award will be conferred on him in the evening of 17 December this year in Rome, Italy, during the celebrations of the 60th anniversary of the Treaties of Rome and the G7 meeting. The Europe Theatre Prize which was established in 1986 as a pilot project of the European Commission under the Presidency of Jacques Delors, is awarded to personalities of theatrical institutions that “have contributed to the realization of cultural events that promote understanding and exchange of knowledge between peoples.” https://www.pmnewsnigeria.com/2017/12/12/wole-soyinka-wins-europe-theatre-prize/

At about 1:45am On Monday(4th December 2017) Corp members caught a young man who disguised as a corper to rob them of their valuables. It was an almost successful mission for him, as he has already taken phones and cash of some of the Corp members in the boys Hostel before he was caught after a vigilant Corp member raised alarm. He was beaten by the angry corpers, who sang while beating him, before handing him over to the soldiers. This is the second time the camp is robbed. The first robbery occurred in the early hours of last Mondays(27th November), at the Godswill Akpabio Hostel, accommodating female Corp members. It was successful, as almost 20 Android phones and cash was carted away with by the hoodlums, while the female corpers slept. |

Most marriages in d Bible are traditional marriages... Issac and Rebecca is a perfect example... Traditional marriage is d biblically accepted marriage... The Church wedding we see today is just a blessing of marriage already celebrated at the traditional level. Court or Registry marriage is accepted to me... But that must be after the traditional marriage because that is the prima. You can chose to bring a priest who can bless ur marriage and it must not be in a church |

I don't think this pastor is saying the truth. This Accident happened somewhere between Odumodu junction and Awkuzu junction (near NYSC orientation camp) in ANAMBRA state. And the hummer was actually heading to Awka/Enugu from Onitsha. I wonder how someone going to Lagos from Sapele(Delta state I guess) would take that route, heading to Awka/Enugu I saw it with my eyes, and the burnt car is still parked there as evidence. Someone just got scammed. |

What started like a normal Facebook trend metamorphosed into a real contest as interested Ladies were made to contest for an undisclosed price. And the price goes to the girl with the Best make-up free picture. A committee, known as the Council of Elders, which have Goodluck Chiemelie, an alumni of the institution as its spokesperson was set up with the job of collating the pictures. Thereafter, the services of a model from a distant school was employed to do justice to the collated pictures. The judgement were based on four ground: Dentition, Skin Condition, Posture and Smile/eye. Eleven Pictures made the First batch. With ODINAKA Onyegbu, a final year student of the Department of English coming first with a Cumulative point 4.66(First class), Akunebuni Chinenye and Aniekwena IFEOMA came second and third at a Cumulative point of 4.44 and 4.38 respectively. Congratulations to the winners.

I only want to speak on this issue because I am a witness to this particular accident. The road in question is newly tarred, and the cause is over speeding from the SUV that killed the five. The SUV was actually speeding to meet up a convoy he was part of. Trying to overtake another vehicle it his the bike face to face. The only blame the government should take in this is their inability to construct bumps on this road. Apart from that the SUV driver should take the blame. And the casualty would have been lower if IKPONKA (RIP) was not carrying excess passengers on his bike. How on earth would you carry two women, and two children on one bike. Requeiscat in Pace dear friend. Oraifite youths will surely miss your idiosyncrasy |
