Ouattara is the most intelligent president in the ECOWAS region, and he is going for a third term, which majority of the Ivorians are not happy about, so he has to fulfill this France agenda for them to back him. He has already succeeded in changing the Constitution and shutting his strongest opponent out from the contest
Unfortunately, people are here to counter his intelligence and to enlighten Ecowas leaders. I have exposed him and his plot is now open for all to see. It is a battle he can never win. Eventually, Ivory Coast will lose out. This is just the beginning.

They are looking up to Ecowas. If Ecowas succeeds, the Central Africans will follow.

For now, they are just watching from the sides.

PoliticsBuhari, Nana Akufo-Addo, ECOWAS Presidents - Stop Alassane Ouattara by FieldMarshall06(op):
I am a staunch realist, a patriot & pan-africanist but I am currently not happy. Lately, I have not been, for the simple reason that our reputed ECOWAS seems blind. So blind that a Chairman, fifteen presidents and many experts cannot see beyond their noses and are being played like chess.

Let us take a look at the messing of ECOWAS.

Regarding the Ecowas Single Currency - Eco.
Before now, member states had reverted to a single-track approach which carries along all member states in an Ecowas-wide strategy. All members states were working towards a set a criteria in the single-track approach. Then, suddenly Alassane Ouattara, in connivance with France, launched a reform of the CFA Franc in the UEMOA zone, named it Eco, and pegged it to the Euro.
This CFA to Eco reform was not part of the Single-track Ecowas-wide approach that was laid out. It was part of an earlier strategy that had already been discarded in favour of the Ecowas- wide, single-track approach. As we know, WAMZ in their Abuja meeting, kicked against Ouattara's CFA to Eco reforms.

At the Niger Summit 2020, Ecowas leaders had the chance draw Ouattara's attention to the Ecowas-wide approach, but they failed. They listened to him rap deceitfully about their reforms in the UEMOA zone and also listened to the WAMZ chairman.

By this slip, Ecowas unwittingly buried the Single-track Ecowas-wide approach to the single currency.

Today, we have Ouattara pursuing a silly UEMOA approach which is actually a French orchestrated reform of the CFA. In reality, Ouattara had ambushed Ecowas with the CFA reform and WAMZ had rejected it. The 2020 Niger summit should have corrected that ambush, but Ecowas failed.

The major mistake of the Niger summit was the failure to return Ouattara/UEMOA back to the Ecowas-wide, single-track approach. And the failure to question why the name Eco was chosen to rename the CFA. Shame on Ecowas.

Today we have the UEMOA approach, which is subservient to France's influence. And now Ouattara in another cunning ambush sees the Eco delayed for 5 years. In reality, Ouattara is burying the Ecowas Eco. And that is the reason I am angry. Very angry with Ecowas.

Let me be clear about this, since Ecowas leaders are not intelligent enough. Ouattara is not working to deliver the Ecowas Eco. He is working to deliver the French Eco and it would be a slap on Ecowas if Ouattara's UEMOA introduces the French backed Eco to their member states.

The man is a French lackey that must be removed if the Ecowas-wide currency must succeed.

Get this clearly, all 15 member states must not use the Ecowas Eco at the same time. We can start with 10 or 12 members who really want their economic freedom. Later, others will join.

If Ecowas does not remove Ouattara from the Eco project; Ouattara will eventually destroy Ecowas.

Ecowas presidents must wake up and remove Ivory Coast from the single currency programme. Ivorians are not ready for freedom from France. They love their slavery, but they should not be allowed to derail the whole region. They should remain slaves alone. I will be mounting a relentless online campaign to pressure Ecowas to temporarily remove Ivory Coast from the single currency programme.

We are not all fools.

The fact that there's even talk about this issue of Nigeria building larger vessels is what's busting brain. Because if one were to think back 5 maybe 10 years ago, even as recent as a couple of years, judging by all the nay-sayers and prophets of doom, Nigeria could never develop. Well, seeing it before our very eyes, yes its good to criticize and not get cocky but what cannot be underestimated is the level of technological progress made and the level of local capacity built in-house.
I agree with both @kabe1 @FieldMarshall06.
on the one hand I think we should aim for a larger vessel after Seaward Defence Boat 3 but maybe what might help in achieving that faster will be a technical partner, one that will provide a handful of engineers to come in country and guide the process of development of a larger vessel. And I remember reading sometime ago that the Naval Dockyard Limited said something about government ordering 10 SDBs ?
Or even more ingenious would be to have detailed technical supervision of the crafts been produced by Damen Shipyards in UAE so as to replicate same once the technical skills and know-how is acquired. This should be one of the core mandates of the DSS or maybe a newly created secret agency solely tasked to acquire technical schematics, blueprints, knowledgeable personnel and information for use by Nigeria's industries, albeit after a process of bidding.
Once schematics are available for a ship like the 1300ton tank landing ship, high quality steel and other integral parts of the ship can be sourced on the open market.
Private companies need to come into this space pronto. yes, there are several private companies involved in the building of smaller boats, but they need to up their game fast, Naval Dockyard Limited is seriously whooping their behind which is just marvelous to see, that a government run enterprise outclasses all private companies in this industry of ship building. kudos grin
Very sound points.

Do we have the technical expertise to build missile armed ships?

I doubt it for the following reasons;

1 - We've not had an operational or modern missile armed ship for a long time.

2- We don't have a blueprint to build on. Luerssen FPB57 Fast Patrol Boat was a platform from which NNS Andoni was built.

3- Seaward Defence Boat 3 has shown that we can build modern ships, but building a missile armed vessels comes with it's unique complexities.

I don't mind Nigeria building more, but larger SDBs, we have a vast area that needs constant patrolling. We just need to build them faster.
We can build an enlarged SDB III to get a corvette. Slight adjustments to that ship would reach a Corvette. Or we use the Centenary class as a blueprint. We already have experience building hulls, so that wouldnt be a challenge.

We can get technical help from friendly countries to integrate missiles on the ship. Blue flag inc was the Nigerian company that integrated the systems on Karaduwa and they did a good job to integrate the radars, communication systems, etc.

There is nothing big about installing missiles on ships, " the challenge is integrating the SSMs, SAMs, torpedoes etc with the ship's radars, fire control systems, sonar, etc ". To integrate those, we would need our own combat management software (CMS). The MoD could either get a Nigerian IT company to build the software or contract it out to a foreign IT firm to build. Trust me, the MoD are experts in getting around these situations.

Once we get our own CMS, integrating all imported weapons, radar, sonar, fcs, etc on the software is straight-forward. I have good programming knowledge, so I know what am talking about. A good CMS is the koko, to bring all weapons, systems, communications, controls, safety, shut down and fire up, trouble shoot, etc in one or more computer screens, where officers can manage everything through one software.

There is a big learning curve but the NN has competent weapons officers and engineers. Together with Blue flag inc, Zinox computers, IT firms and defence programmers; we can pull it off. And if we did, it would be one of the greatest defence achievement from Africa.

But a caveat, the navy would need to acquire the missiles, radar, sonar, torpedoes, etc from compatible suppliers. We cannot use a Chinese missile suite with British radar. There might be compatibility issues, but we might use British radar with German missiles. They are both western systems.

About building them faster, I agree with you. If we are able to build Corvette I and II, we could then standardize the corvette II as a standard hull for NN ships. This way we can rely on a single trusted hull design and then automate the cutting and welding process for faster building. There is actually a plan for this standard hull for the NN.

I guess we should expect more local SDB's.
Nah. After the third one is completed by December. We should be planning for a Corvette of 55-70m length and over 1000 tons. Fully armed, ocean going vessel and suitable for combat.

That should be our target now, not building more SDBs. My opinion.

Allasene Quattarra was imposed by the French with the help of Obama to do exactly what he is doing today! Goodluck Jonathan was Nigerias president then and he supported the invasion..This is one of the most alarming foreign policy disasters of the otueke misfit, who acted like a deer in the headlights when faced by the western gang up in Ivory coast. The man was imposed military by the French. The French army, with the support of one Obama, the so-called first black American president, invaded Abidgan, went straight to the presidential palace and removed Gbagbo even before the electoral courts made the final pronouncements. Many west Africans didn't see the dangerous precedent being set.... Gbagbo was taken to the Hague, where a spurious charge of "crime against humanity" was rightly thrown out.

Although not convicted, they are still holding him while leveraging on their massive media power to drive home the propoganda that the stooge Quattarra, is the people's choice. Quattarra has always been a French lackey, right from his days as the ivorian prime minister. Southern ivorians know this and voted massively against him, leading to a North/South dichotomy in ivorian politics.. Jonathan made several very dangerous foreign policy blunders deu to his acute naivety. The other one was in Libya where no matter how hopeless the situation, he shouldn't have sided with the Europeans. Today, Boko Haram is being armed and financed majorly from Libya, while Quattarra whom he supported is so anti Nigeria with his regional fiscal/monetary policy allignments with the French, you start to wonder what Jonathan saw there to allow the French violate the sub region so blantantly under his watch..
You are very correct. Jonathan goofed on Libya and Ivory Coast. That man is a shame.

And many Ivorians are anti-Nigeria.

It’s all about economics my friend, within the euro zone Germany has the strongest economy. It’s uses it’s economic muscle to support the zone.
Most of the borrowing is bankrolled by Germany.
Within the euro Zone you also have stresses and strains, between the more advanced countries like Germany, the Netherlands and France and the southern countries like Spain and Italy.

To get into monetary union there are a number of huddles to cross, bring public sector borrowing within a similar range among member countries. There is the need for interest rate alignment before you can head towards monetary union.

The euro is strong because of the economies behind it Germany France Netherlands etc. Which economy within Ecowas is strong enough to back the proposed West African currency?
So what has your point got to do with my topic. Am talking about Ouattara ambushing Ecowas and you are writing crap. Smh.

PoliticsECOWAS, Alassane Ouattara & the Eco. by FieldMarshall06(op):
Who has read the latest comment by Ivorian President, Alassane Ouattara, that the Eco would be delayed for 5 years. This is the second time he would ambush ECOWAS and I was scratching my head as I read it, see the link below.

It is very clear that Alassane Ouattara is out to sabotage the Eco. This was very clear right from the initial change of the CFA to Eco. He attended the Niger summit 2020 and fooled everyone that their programme is in line with the wider goal.

What suprises me is why ECOWAS and Abuja would continue to allow the foreign agent named Ouattara to sabotage its programmes. His comment delaying Eco for 5 yrs is another ambush like the first one he did.

Please ECOWAS is bigger than one country. There are 15 countries in the bloc and over 300 million people. One country should not be allowed to derail the goals of ECOWAS.

Rather than allow Ouattara to continue to mess ECOWAS about, we need to remove Ivory Coast from the Eco programme. A temporary removal of Ouattara would save 14 other countries the stress of his betrayal. When Ivory Coast gets a new president, they can rejoin the Eco.

I urge ECOWAS leaders get firm with Ouattara. He cannot toy with 15 countries. No way. The Preasident of ECOWAS commission, Jean- Claude Kassi Brou, is Ivorian, but he must protect the community. He is there for all 15 members.

Until Ouattara is temporarily removed from the Eco programme, we are dealing with a foreign agent hell bent on sabotaging the aims of ECOWAS founding fathers. We must not tolerate it. President Buhari, Nana Akufo Addo and Jean Claude Kasi Brou must get rid of Ouattara. This does not stop Ivory Coast but ensures that the programme is free from sabotage.

Please ECOWAS must stop Ouattara from messing us about. Remove him from the programme. We are not fools here.
