Homosexuality is legal in ireland. What would a christian in Nigeria think about that? I'm pretty sure they'd say all Irish people will go to hell. Nigerians would definitely go to war over it. You see my point?

Let me chip in; but abortion is illegal (the only exception is when the pregnancy poses threat to the mother). And this is largely influenced by religion in Ireland.
.
Now you've just brought a case of homosexuality; hope you know there are homosexuals who claim to be Christians also? Even though I see it as the peak of contradiction.
In the Rep. of Ireland you mentioned; believe me, a lot of people are opposed to homosexuality. Homophobia isn't strictly a Nigerian thing. There are religious homophobes as well as irreligious homophobes, both in Nigeria and everywhere else.

Believing that some god can come down to help anyone do what they can do for themselves is the basis of greed, laziness and insanity. Does anyone need to be told that it is wrong to be tribalistic and not to be part of nepotism? etc? No. But if you ask a religious person, they'll tell you it is the devils work in the minds of people. Life is fraught with daily challenges and a lot of people do not know how to tackle these challenges. All of lot of Nigeria's problems are self inflicted and instead of taking personal responsibility and learning from it, they rather blame the "devil". And they keep blaming the "devil" thereby denying themselves the opportunity to develop resilience and also learning from whatever life lessons life is trying to teach them. Take away religion and 50 percent of the world's problem is solved.

What is the guarantee that taking away religion can lead to 50% of the world's problems being solved.

Ireland for example is a European country with about 78% professing a particular faith. Only 10% identifies with no religion. Assessing this country, would you say they are faced with problems which are directly (or indirectly) related to religion?

In my opinion, the problem isn't religion, but religious extremism. It is in extremism you find people blaming every problem on religion, it is in extremism you see the manifestations of Jihad.

No sarcasm. The last time i voted was for obama. And what is Nigeria's problem?

Nigeria's problem is multifaceted. From the very foundation, I'd say illiteracy. That is the foundation of our problem.
Another problem is tribalism, nepotism, and religious extremism. Mind you, not religion but religious extremism of some sects.

You are the one being stupid. Go to Cornell University, an Ivy League school and see that they have separate courses for Animal Sciences which studies the husbandry of farm animals and associated products and Animal Biology which simply studies the science and physiology of animals in general. If you still don't understand why the courses have to be separate, then your case is a lost case and I would rather watch paint dry than respond to you again.

We are talking about UNN here, not Cornell University.
Good luck on watching paint dry.

You are exhibiting even more stupidity. Nowhere in the world are both curricula merged. Animal Science is an agricultural discipline, zoology is not. That you fail to understand that is a testament to your aforementioned stupidity.

Now, where would you place a course like "Bioinformatics"? isn't that more like a cross disciplinary field? Sort of a merger of Biological Sciences and Computing.

Can you see your stupidity being exposed?

Do we not have Disciplines like Agric and Bioresources Engineering? Which cuts across Agricultural Sciences and Engineering which is domiciled in the Faculty of Engineering.

So, shut up and run along.

No. The problem in Nigeria is not only it's leaders. The citizenry contribute to 90 percent of it. We have people vigorously rooting for dino malaye, fayose, Buhari, etc as leaders to look up to. These people would not be there if not for the support of the citizenry. And the ones who don't support them will support anyone who gives them gala and lipton or rice and garri.

How did you come about your 90% statistics?
.
A bit of digression...
Did you vote in the last election? Will you vote in the next?
.
If your answers to both questions are NO. Then what moral right do you have to accuse citizens who partake in the voting process.

Davido started his tertiary education in the US but relocated to Nigeria. He studies music in Babcock University.
Education is a means to an end but must not be formal education. A higher percentage of Nigerians have higher education than persons in some developed countries but are we doing better than their citizens?
Persons like Davido should be celebrated in Nigeria. His contribution to the entertainment industry, tourism and economy of the country is enormous.

I disagree with that. Name one developed country that Nigeria has more people with Higher Education. Just one.
US alone has over 4000 Universities, how many do we have in Nigeria? slightly above a 100. How can you compare?

With Soyinka's education he is not making progress too? Wow! Tell me more.

Exactly my point. You bible crazies have degrees in sexual matters and the bible but when it involves using the same bible to guide you as a people on how normal people think and behave in a society, all of a sudden you can't find the bible. If your way was the standard, Nigeria would not be the shiithole it today.

Are you blaming Christians for the ''shìthole" status of your country? Tell me.

Then answer me this. Why is it that it is only on the subject of sex and morality that Nigerians are experts and can quote every passage in the bible? But when it comes to human decency, jungle justice, and just generally doing the right thing, all of a sudden amnesia occurs and they somehow do not understand nor remember what morality means? Why is that?

What was the post for again?

What truth are you saying? You spewed rubbish from the beginning of this thread.
Mr. man I know you studied a course that isn't popular in the society, but you use you mouth to debase other discipline. Many people have educated you on this thread, you still proved headstrong as if you know more than the people in that discipline.
If you are proud of the course you studied/studying in school, be proud of it and tell us. Stop beating around the bush.
As for the OP I have told him what to do, it is either he accepts the course or get another Jamb form.

So you do agree that there are courses that are not popular in the society? Haha, see you've just shot yourself.
.
And is it that you were blinded by your narcissistic tendencies that you did not see where I told him to pick another Jamb form? of course... after telling him how useless a course like Animal Science is which is currently being taught with an obsolete curriculum.

You see, a lot of people are quick to cast aspersions on the existence of God, Heaven, Hell, etc.
Now I ask, why not live your life as though these things do exist? When you die, you stand to lose nothing if eventually they actually don't exist.
.
But, woe betide you that in the end, these things actually did exist. Then it would be "had I known".
.
Give Jesus Christ a chance.
.
The atheists of today are actually Christians who find holiness a daunting task. Hence, they resort to atheism not because they do not believe in God, but because they are too lazy to live a Christian life of holiness.

As long as Nigeria is concerned, that is the status quo. For your info, not everyone would leave this country for economic migration/greener pastures.
Get rid of néocolonialism from your brain. Study Medicine and Surgery or anything as long as you aren't making money, your education is a waste. Lastly, don't rubbish any discipline.

So practising a noble profession like Medicine or (probably) rendering other services in say the academia in another country other than yours is your definition of neocolonialism?

You see, the fact doesn't absolve either the accuser or the accused from their sins. If I sin, and you sin and I accuse you of sinning, you are still a sinner.
It was still sinners who wanted to stone Mary Magdalene to death for sinning differently before Jesus came to rescue her. Jesus still condemned her sins. So it doesn't matter who accuses you for sinning, the fact is that you should repent.

You are the one assuming. Yes, Animal Science is a nice course just like any other course if you use your brain. Your certificate needs to be questioned because, you lack deductive reasoning. May I let you know that the guys that earn most in Nigeria aren't doctors, but engineers/IT experts. This is a fact, get that into your thick skull.

Again, another flawed reasoning. Do you think everyone's career prospect is limited in the Nigerian space?
Are you saying it's a must to practice the said Medicine in Nigeria?

Lol Jude 1:7 doesn't say it is unnatural to desire a sex doll. Don't lie to prove a point. Although, I seriously condemn the act.

Jude 1:7
(New American Standard Bible)

Just as Sodom and Gomorrah and the cities around them, since they in the same way as these indulged in "gross immorality" and went after "strange flesh", are exhibited as an example in undergoing the punishment of eternal fire.

.
Now I ask;
Is sex with a doll not gross immorality?
Doesn't a sex doll qualify as "strange flesh"?

Has THE released her ranking this year?

They have and for the first time in its history we have two UK universities top the list.

1. University of Oxford, United Kingdom
2. University of Cambridge, United Kingdom
3. California Institute of Technology, United States
4. Stanford University, United States
5. Massachusetts Institute of Technology, United States
6. Harvard University, United States
7. Princeton University, United States
8. Imperial College London, United Kingdom
9. University of Chicago
10. ETH Zurich – Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zurich, Switzerland.

And the interesting thing about this ranking is, they are ranked based on the following indices; Teaching, Research, Citations, Industry Income, International Outlook, No. of FTE (full time enrolled) Students, No. of students per staff, International Students, Female:Male Ratio.
And the range of programmes offered in each University is taken into consideration.
