chocolateme: My friend came into Lagos to buy goods and decided to buy phone here before traveling back. Day before yesterday, she proceeded to the computer village Ikeja to get the phone, I should have escorted her. On getting there as usual, dem boys crowded her urging that she should come buy from them (you know the drill) she eventually followed the one that helped her carry her hand load to his shop. According to her, he showed her the iPhone 6 (gold) she checked it out and it was cool. They finally reached a price (145k) and she gave him 70k from her handbag and took him with her to around the under bridge area for ATM withdrawal, on getting there she started the withdrawal and suddenly the guy answered a call and told her that he wanna talk with a guy he pointed to across the road in a minute that he is coming. He gave her the bag containing her phone and went off asking her to be fast as no one was in his shop. She finished the withdrawal and started waiting for the son of a python but he never showed up till today, she decide to go back to his shop to balance him and was wondering why he left the phone with her but on getting there, she met no one and that was when it occurred to her to check the phone. My brothers and sisters, lo and behold! It was an over fake iPhone 6 but looks exactly like the original. But truly it was the original she first checked out. This one is sooo light. Since yesterday the riff raff has been asking her to go down with him if she wanna get her money back giving different locations and venues to meet him. I told her its useless trying to catch him for now. Lies. Of all ATMs within computer village, your friend had to go all the way to 'somewhere under bridge'. GTB, Fidelity, Skye etc dey within the village. On medical road, you have Zenith, Access and many more that are closer. Abegiiiiii. Leave matter for Mathaias jare. If your friend can skip all these banks and go under bridge, she be real MAGA |

All the stories have holes in them
1. If the victim was a suspected cultist, he is innocent u til proven guilty. 2. Did the police have proof of gun duel? Expended shell casings, bullet holes on walls, cars in the battle zone? 3. Who is the politician sharing Allah meat? 4. Where are the eye and ear witnesses? 5. What was the victim doing with #400k cash so early in the morning and how did he carry it( in his pockets or in a polythene/small bag)? 6. What does the autopsy report say - how close was the gun that shot him, what is/was the angle of penetration e.t.c.?
So much questions to be answered before a reasonable conclusion can be made.
What a loss. If both citizens and law enforcement agent will just do the right things at the right time, things would be better. |

Hustoto: Zenith bank's deposit base is above 3trillion. It doesnt mean they have that amt in cash. Transferring money From an account doesnt amount to cash shortage. Every bank has acct with each oda including Cbn and if bank a needs to collect cash from any oda bank including CBN, they debit the account with each oda. It is only when a bank has no money in their account with these banks that u can then conclude that there can be cash shortage which will also mean the bank is insolvent. Will moving govt funds lead to this? I Dont think so So what happens when the electronic money is not cash backed? When CBN said banks' capital base should be 25bn, it was solidly cash backed. When your electronic money is not cash backed, bros wahala don dey be that. I remember a bank that declared itself as the first Nigerian bank to cross the 1trn naira mark some years ago. The bank declared huge profits on paper but couldn't provide the cash backing. Today, the bank is history and has been bought over by another bank with smaller capability as at when it was declaring huge profits. Bottom line, all electronic money must be cash backed in the long run. |

brainpower: Nigeria's history is always very interesting to read especially concerning the civil war and event before the civil war but sadly, they aren't taught in our schools because of the dust they will dig up. The people we have now are liars who tell stories to suit them. E.g. OBJ who wrote 3 volumes of his book and mentioned other people's infidelities but decided to have an amnesia about his affair with his son's wife. Whether Igbo, Yoruba or Hausa, we really need to read a lot about this country even if the particular book doesn't favour us. It will help in creating future leaders that know exactly what's wrong with the country. I've never read a comment as yours in a long time. Your brainpower is saluted from here. |

It will help in creating future leaders that know exactly what's wrong with the country. I have read and re-read a lot of books on events from the first coup to the civil war. Truth be told, whatever situation Nigeria is today is as a result of the events of those periods. Infighting, lack of trust, nepotism etc grew so much within those periods. Reading accounts from different sources has given me a broad view of these events. If you read widely, one would understand why each party in the war did what they did whether right or wrong. As for me, I have learnt not to blame anyone for their roles in the war. That's why it is called WAR. I have spoken with elderly ones on both sides of the war. It is not a thing to pray for at all. If there will be a clamor for Biafra, the best way is by nonviolence. It may tarry but it is achieve able. |

Change2015: A little ridiculous to see that no attention is paid to the doctor who prescribed the drug. Was it prescribed in Nigeria or Burkina? Was he given any advice about usage and potential side effects? This is why I avoid all these sensational blogs, having taken pictures they have too little intelligence to dig out a useful story. Very enlightened post from you. The doctor is expected to find out from the history of the patient if there's any allergic reactions to some drugs. Tests should have been conducted. In fact, the doctor, GSK and sometimes the patient may be at fault. I've seen a situations where patients Dont want to wait for test results. They just say doctor, give me something now now. |

seunmsg: You are just being mischievous. We were listed in January 2012 when crude oil price was averaging $120 in the international market. Today, it's averaging $40. So, you can't compare the economic outlook of Nigeria in a period of economic boom to that of a period of economic recession.
And stop the lies, Nigeria's economy didn't enjoy 7% growth rate last year. Even the projection for this year going by GEJ's budget is around 4% or so. This should show you times are different. They just like being lied to. NOI was at the helm of affairs when things were going bad. Now the full blown output is here there are blaming PMB. Shebi they said all the gains in the power sector we are seeing now are because of the investments and planning of the GEJ cabinet not PMB's own. Let them also take the blame for this one too as they want glory for gains in the power sector. |
