courage54: They should keep on deceiving theirselves. Is only the gullible citizens dat will still go ahead and vote dis mistake in power come 2015 dat I pity.Gullible...yea, that's the word that best describes you(r) post. You quickly ran to a conclusion to avoid ever having to reason. That's the problem I have with most people here. Instead of using observations and deep thoughts to x-ray every event of the past and present and every spoken word on the subject, you rather take the easy way out; 'I don't want to believe it's Buhari, so it has to be GEJ'. What if some other persons are doing these terrible things? Do you know of the arms found sometime ago at a Lebanese outfit in Area ll, abuja? Do they belong to PDP or APC? Do you know about all the suicide bombing that have taken place and where they perpetuators are from? If you do, then ask yourself a little question that even a simple mind like yours can attempt to answer; How come GEJ finds it very easy to convince muslims from the north to bomb themselves? Why hasn't he used at least one of the niger delta militants that are readily at his disposal? And please don't say that crap about the insurgency not being religious. Look around the world and maybe you will tell yourself the truth. |
courage54: Why not tell ur dumb ass president to tell us the names of the people sponsoring boko haram, because am very sure that if boko harama has any connection with any opposition party they won't hesitate to use them to score some political points. But since is an insider thing, they are keeping mute!If GEJ tells 'us' the names of the sponsors of BH, please what will you do? Is it enough to know them and mention them to 'us'? I am not particularly responding to you alone, I am using this medium to ask other people who always ask this same question; 'why will GEJ not tell us the names of the sponsors of BH?' I don't mean to curse but it is really a dumb question. GEJ has suddenly become a 'prime suspect' because BH now kill even muslims, right? How many muslims spoke about the matter with such passion when BH was bombing churches at first? Some years ago, OBJ came for a rally in Imo state and implied openly that Ararume 'kills people'! A president giving such info to 'us'(the masses), what will you do with it? He'll need to prove such assertion beyond reasonable doubt! |
In Imo state, a rented crowd can only cheer you at ceremonies, at the polls, real and truly concerned people come and make sure their votes count even if they have to pay the ultimate price. We were here in 2011, we are already home again. |
Emessy: Islam will take over Nigeria , The world ,CAN can Go and DIEKids...lol. Joseph! wake up! You are dreaming again! And if I quote you? |
gratiaeo: You are a bastard for cursing your family and Yoruba as a tribePlease pay no attention to the Slow-one(Sloan). He's always been like that. |
tosscash1: nope, until hez 18I don't know what type of contract he signed but he won't be the first under-eighteen to appear in the EPL. Age cannot stop him. |
PenSniper: You are obviously an irritant, a mischivious lie-peddler, an arrogant slowpoke consumed with and blindfolded by hatred trying hard to rewrite history. I regret the time i've wasted on you because its apparent you belong to the dregs of a pompous society.Son, your words ... childish. Well, I don't do that with kids. When you grow up and become capable of having a good debate or conversation, then we can talk. A little education about debates: To debate, you first make your POINTS and probably give examples to buttress your views and not take out your frustration on your opponent by calling names etc. Thank me later. |
HisRoyalHardnes: Ihejirika isn't in the contest. Why do you think Dr Otti has no chance? |
ChrisOD: But managing the army isn't as executive (nearly absolute power, per Naija style democracy) as being a governor. I might be wrong in my assessment of him, of course. But I believe of the three Otti is the most fitting.Again, I agree with you, managing the army is not even close to being a governor but the experience of handling tax payers funds and being accountable for it will have to count at some point. |
ChrisOD: Otti fits the bill. Abia has tried a biz man in Kalu, a civil servant in Orji, and now it needs a thorough professional such as Otti who will invest public money in developing Aba city.I understand your sentiment bro, but I personally think any of the three will do well. Ihejirika has nothing to offer in terms of economic mgt? I don't agree with that. Come on man! He managed military funds better than any other person I know of in the history of Nigeria! Do you know how many military facilities he overhauled even while effectively handling the security crisis in the country? |
Last time at the polls, Abians were forced to choose between the devil and the 'deep-black sea', with the likes of T.A. Orji, Ikonne etc emerging as flag bearers for their political parties. Hopes were lost and many abians stayed back at home during the elections. The story this time is different and politics in abia is becoming interesting already as some names that have recorded great success in their respective fields are coming up. Some of the names are; Lt Gen O. Ihejirika rtd: Immediate past COAS. Who was successful during his time as army chief and helped restore sanity in abia state some years ago when kidnapping and all other vices almost drowned all economic activities in the state. Dr. Ugochukwu Ogah: the president Masters Energy Group. A successful business man in the oil and gas sector, whose benevolence, especially in the area of youth empowerment in recent years, cannot be ignored. Dr. Alex Otti: A former assistant director at First bank plc and recently, the Group managing director of Diamond bank plc. More names are also coming up and I personally think there's hope for Abia state! |
Ghost01: Freed by Ojukwu? Was he a prisoner of Ojukwu's or a prisoner of the Nigerian state? Btw, who was Ojukwu then to free a prisoner of Awo's stature? Tribalism won't let you your head.Son, what was Awo? former leader of western region, and what was Ojukwu(military head of eastern region). I am not one of you tribalists here who hide behind the computer to say words that don't mean much. I am a solution based critic of persons not their tribes! If a man does something good, give him the credit regardless of what name he bears!!! If Obasanjo did well as a president, I'll give him the credit and I don't care how many Igbos are up against him! But you won't know anything about that. |
Ghost01: @Filiks, you don't get to sell your own fallacious view as the real history. Awo was released from prison on August 3, 1966, when the only known Biafra was the Bight of Biafra. Ojukwu declared Biafra's Independence on May 30, 1967. The Civil War started on July 6, 1967. Stop trying to sell untruths as historical facts. So what was my own fallacy? Read my post again and maybe you will observe that I asked you to read and did not give you the info. You answer should have been; Awo was a free man when the war started, he was freed by Ojukwu prior to that war. This is why people fail little tests sometimes. |
PenSniper: Why display your naivety and crass ignorance on the social media ? Are you from mars or just trying to be outrightly mischievious by trying to rewrite history ? Dont ask me, tell Ojukwu's rank between Jan. '66 and the start of the war. FYI i was a living witness of the crisis from the start to the end so if anybody is peddling his parents' falsified account, it can only be you. Mr. Mischief, Awolowo remained in prison throughout Ironsi's tenure. In conivance with his Igbo cohorts, he prefered to let him rot in jail since he escaped being murdered along with other regional leaders save Igbos'. Awolowo's release was Gowon's first action on assumption of office., He didnt even send aids, he went personally. Again, ask those who know better than you and they will tell you that Awolowo went to meet with Ojukwu just before the start of the war. Where did you learn your own version of the events ? Even the senile Chinua Achebe couldnt deny these facts in his book of lies and falsifications. No matter how much you people try to rewrite history by turning truth on its head, you shall fail because truth is sacrosanct.Ok, you clearly did not answer any of my questions. Maybe you didn't understand them or you just know that the answers will not support your views. I ask again, what was Ojukwu's rank before Gowon came into power? If you know the answer, then it's only sane not to use the expression 'he had a FEELING OF SUPERIORITY'. I asked a second question; 'where was Awolowo when the war started and who released him?' The answer, from your ramblings, should have been ; He was a free man, Ojukwu released him in the east where he was serving prison term. Your claim of being 'a witness' to the events of 1966 is so childish. Speaking grammar doesn't translate to old age or wisdom. Please read my comments again and maybe you'll see that I am not here to indulge in all your children's e-wars between yorubas and Igbos. I can write a whole text book on the Igbo leaders that got it all wrong in the past as well as the yoruba leaders without any sentiments. |
simiolu1: For clarification; I am SC. I was diagnosed when I went for my medicals in my 100Level days. My elder brother is AC. He found out too when he went for his medicals in school (Unilag). |
simiolu1: For clarification; I am SC. I was diagnosed when I went for my medicals in my 100Level days. My elder brother is AC. He found out too when he went for his medicals in school (Unilag). Thanks for sharing. I'm sure you've enlightened many. God's all the way. |
PenSniper: The simple and stark truth is that Ojukwu had a feeling of superiority complex towards Gowon, so rather than accept the latter's leadership, decided to gamble for power using his own people as sacrificial lambs. But this truth, can only be acceptable to a sane mind. It was this truth that made Ojukwu turn deaf ears to wise counsel, history and prevailing circumstances. It was the realization of this truth that made Awolowo risk his life against all wise counsel to travel to the east to make Ojukwu see reasons that he was headed for a suicidal mission. A later discovery of this truth made Victor Banjo, Emma Ifeajuna, etc to see sense in stopping the war to prevent further bloodshed but got executed by power drunk Ojukwu. It was all power play between Gowon and Ojukwu- seniority in the army. Senility, propaganda, morbid hatred and outright mischief made elders like Chinua Achebe compromise the truth in writing the trash - There was a country - to pollute an already foul atmosphere. Honestly, these are no leaders to be celebrated. The Yoruba say that a worthy elder, facing imminent departure, does not defecate the seat he leaves behind thus giving those behind him the task of clearing the stench. You speak good english but content therein ...empty. Ojukwu had a 'feeling of superiority'? Really? Please what was Ojukwu's rank before Gowon came into power? If you find that out, then your statement will either change or you will just confirm your bias which you think of as truth. 'Awolowo risked his life...'? Please go and read again where Awo was when that war started and who released him. Like I said before, stop taking your parents account as history read widely and make your own judgments. |
Let me start by saying this; history is always one-sided and totally biased, it is often tilted towards the thought, believe and level of knowledge and understanding of the writer of such piece of history. I personally fault Ojukwu for leading the Igbos to that war, considering the fact that he had a good knowledge of the material and human resources available to both Nigeria and Biafra. But any piece of history that tells Ojukwu's story can never be complete without mentioning the role he played in the failed coup of 1966 that is today referred to as the 'Igbo coup'. Aguiyi and Ojukwu foiled that coup but most people tell the story, completely and conveniently editing that part of history. Maybe it will be just fair to call it 'THE IGBO COUP FOILED BY IGBOS'. He also executed Ifeajuna(the nigga that tried taking over Lagos during that coup), He was not applauded, in fact Aguiyi was killed soon after as a reward for his job! The role Ojukwu played in the 1966 coup was actually the reason why he was naturally angry when the killings of the ordinary Igbos, going about their businesses in the north, was 'okay' to the then government. For these, the Igbos love and respect him. |
iamjane: You began well but your ending betrayed a common weakness- self-aggrandisement!Sorry ma'am, I didn't talk about their differences cause I know nothing about it. I only referred to his comments. What's happening between them is best known to them but trying to conveniently redefine the word 'family' is very immature! Your ability to adequately love and care for your family(your wife and children), while you are still loving the family(your parents and sibs) you come from is what makes a man. And please don't use the wrong scripture here. The focus is on the obvious dispute between the brothers. The bible carefully explained very clearly the rigorous process you must go through in matters concerning disputes between brothers. |
naijadeyhia: Hello folks, I am a believer and would like to ask this question because many churches and believers seem to be following a trend which I see as unscriptural. Why would a church ask an intended couple to run a genotype test before "permitting" the wedding. although I have my own position on this I would like to hear yours.'My people perish for lack of knowledge'. So it's good to know, try to know all you can so you won't perish for lack of knowledge. |
nedu2000: mark 14:21 ".....Yes o, Judas made his choice! Luke 17:1 confirms our view. |
lakpalakpa: You are not a wise person!!Seriously? Rochas did build many of the school buildings constructed earlier with pre-cast walls and the bill of quantities for those buildings were prepared based on that type of construction. The person you quoted said it in other words already. Do you get it now? |
No 4 is so TRUE! It doesn't make marriage less interesting though. |
Newmanluckyman: ...ur on point. There is nothing better than a united house.Allowing woman issue to destabilize their hard earned family unity is to say the least very immature on both sides.Truth! |
tola9ja: Luke 19:27 jesus said all my enemy that they want me to reign bring them and slaughter them infront of me is that not a word class violenceGo and read son. |
ULSHERLAN: But he said d blunt truth and with dis I respect him moreBeing a man does not lie in ones ability to ejaculate inside a woman to welcome a baby after 9 months! It rather lies in ones ability to harness and relate with his environment(human beings inclusive of course) in harmony. Read his statements again and you'll probably now see that it sounded more like his son wrote them. |
