Noted. What should I do with this information?
Ah, the common Nigerian idiot who believes any one who doesn't believe in God, must be of the devil. Such foolish thinking can only come when all that exists in one's head is a few verses from that old piece of crap called the bible. yea one of them called me anti-Christ . |

How could we possibly have free will if God did not allow bad things to happen? I guess I should make the point clear that I am not saying that our choices are always responsible for the bad things that happen to us. Just sometimes.
What happens much more is that we make choices for good things for us and they result in bad things for others that we are usually unaware of and never thought to consider. And the more humans there are, the more choices for good stuff with inadvertent bad consequences. The population of humans has grown from 1.8 billion to 7.34 billion in a century. Advances in science and technology combined with human decisions about how to use them have increased unintended consequences exponentially. For a little example, my decision to stop drinking coffee means the livelihood of some poor Africans or Latin Americans or Hiwaiians or Javanese is diminished very slightly. But when 999 more people stop drinking coffee, two or three workers somewhere have no way to feed their families. And so on up the multiplication tables. But then there are possible consequences to my health sound sleep if I don’t stop drinking coffee, with a whole range of compounding issues for me and people in my life. God could fix things so we are fully programmed and never make another choice again. But then we wouldn’t be human. And things that happen in nature, like being eaten by a tiger, might not be pleasant, but they would be neither good nor bad, just nature in progress.
Hurricanes, volcanos, earthquakes, tsunamis, astroid strikes, etc., are nature on a grand scale — and grand is not always good. God could have avoided all that and made earth into a great aquarium and terrarium contraption engineered for human comfort. Among other things, our brains would still be about the size of a couple of walnuts. No need for much brain without problems for them to solve.
I think back to something 20th Century historian and writer Will Durant said: “Civilization exists by geologic consent — subject to change without notice.”

SKhanmi: They blocked one section of sagamu-Ilishan express way...So everyone had to go one way for a distance & rejoin further up. I was in one of those tiny datsun kabukabu prevalent then. The driver was about to turn at ilishan junction when he unconsciously took his foot off the accelerator. It was at that moment one of these huge terrible luxurious buses swept past us at breakneck speed,He didn't change lanes!!! He faced traffic from shagamu! One meter more & he would have dragged/crushed us halfway to Babcock junction. That memory is emblazoned in my brain. It's so easy to get blotted out of existence. Wow |
