A drone attack on a Syrian base housing U.S. troops killed at least six Kurdish fighters late Sunday. The attack marked the first in Iraq or Syria since the U.S. launched retaliatory strikes against Iranian-backed groups after three U.S. service members were killed in a deadly drone strike in Jordan last month. The Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), backed by the U.S., said Sunday's attack struck a training ground at the al-Omar base in Syria's eastern province of Deir el-Zour, The Associated Press reported. No U.S. troops were reported killed in the attack, the AP noted. The Islamic Resistance in Iraq, an umbrella organization of militias backed by Iran, claimed responsibility for the latest attack in a video message. The same group had claimed responsibility for the attack in Jordan late last month. The SDF had initially blamed "Syrian regime-backed mercenaries" for the attack on Sunday but later said "Iran-backed militias" were responsible after an investigation. The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, a British-based organization that tracks developments in Syria, said seven SDF members were killed with at least another 18 injured. This attack comes as the White House is warning Iran that there will be further retaliation if Iran-backed militias continue their attacks. National security adviser Jake Sullivan made the rounds on morning news shows on Sunday, warning that the recent U.S. retaliatory strikes in Iraq and Syria are "not the end of it." It began with strikes on Friday night, but that is not the end of it. We intend to take additional strikes and additional action to continue to send a clear message that the United States will respond when our forces are attacked, or people are killed," Sullivan told NBC News anchor Kristen Welker on "Meet the Press." Separately, U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) said late Sunday that U.S. forces conducted a self-defense strike in Yemen against a Houthi land attack cruise missile. CENTCOM said the U.S. struck four anti-ship cruise missiles that were preparing to launch against ships in the Red Sea. https://c.newsnow.co.uk/A/1215872474?-12152:29580 Nlfpmod mynd44 |

The young man has moved on with his life as he cannot wait forever |
LADY WHO ASKS HER BOYFRIEND WHO EARNS 60,000NAIRA TO WAIT TILL HE GETS BETTER JOB BEFORE THEY GET MARRIED, RECEIVES INVITATION TO HIS WEDDING TO ANOTHER WOMAN I am a 26year old lady. My 35 year old boyfriend and I have been dating for close to 5years. I love him so much as he really gets me and I strongly believe he is my soulmate. He has been talking about us getting married before the end of the year. I told him about how we need to be more financially stable before thinking about getting married. His salary is 60,000naira while mine is 70,000naira. He said he has been making moves and plans as he feels marriage is the right step to take in our lives. I insisted on we waiting awhile longer as the economic situation in this country does not make it wise for us to start a family this way. This led to a huge fight. We did not speak for 4days. When he came to my house the 4th day to apologize, he asked if I had changed my mind. I said no. So we made up and continued our relationship. That was June last year. However, few days ago, one of our mutual friends sent me invitation card of his wedding. This man that I have persevered with for 5years is getting married to another woman in April and is still behaving as if all is well. Why would he do this to me? Was he deceiving me all along? How was he able to hide a whole serious relationship from me? Was I wrong? Can I still get my man back? I don’t even know how to feel or what to do. Please advise me. Belgium on Friday summoned the Israeli ambassador in the country over Israeli forces’ bombing of the Belgian Development Agency in the Gaza Strip. “The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Hadja Lahbib, summoned the Israeli Ambassador to Belgium, H.E. Idit Rosenzweig-Abu, to the Foreign Affairs Cabinet. The meeting took place in the presence of the Minister of Development Cooperation, Caroline Gennez,” said the Belgian Foreign Ministry in a statement. “On behalf of Belgium, the ministers strongly condemned the bombing and destruction of the offices of Enabel, the Belgian development agency, in Gaza,” it added. Stressing that the destruction of civilian infrastructure is absolutely unacceptable and violates international law, the ministry said: "The violence must stop. Belgium calls for an immediate ceasefire by all parties, permanent and unhindered access for humanitarian aid and the immediate and unconditional release of the hostages." The ministry also repeated the call for resumption of the peace process and political negotiations that could lead to a two-state solution. “Belgium will put the issue of compensation for the damaged infrastructure of projects financed by the EU and its Member States back on the agenda of a subsequent European consultation,” it also warned. Since Israel began its campaign against Gaza nearly four months ago, dozens of countries and international humanitarian groups have decried the bombing of hospitals, civilian housing, and houses of worship – all places off limits to attacks under the rules of war. Israel has killed more than 27,000 people in the Gaza Strip in response to the Oct. 7 cross-border offensive by Hamas, which took the lives of 1,200 people and took 240 as hostages. The military onslaught has caused mass displacement and destruction and created conditions ripe for famine. https://c.newsnow.co.uk/A/1215540632?-14432:11 Nlfpmod mynd44

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5VzeXSGagS0 Iran has begun construction on four more nuclear power plants in the country's south, with expected total capacity of 5,000 megawatts, the official IRNA news agency reported. Iran seeks to produce 20,000 megawatts of nuclear energy by 2041. The country has one active nuclear power plant, a 1,000 megawatt plant that went online with help from Russia in 2011. It's also building a 300-megawatt plant in oil-rich Khuzestan province, near the western border with Iraq. The UN's nuclear watchdog said last year that Iran has increased the rate at which it is producing near-weapons grade uranium. Director General Rafael Mariano Grossi said in the report that Iran "in recent weeks had increased its production of highly enriched uranium, reversing a previous output reduction from mid-2023," according to an IAEA spokesperson. Iran had previously slowed the rate at which it was enriching uranium to 60 percent purity, which is just a short technical step away from the weapons-grade level of 90 percent. The West has long suspected that Iran is acquiring nuclear weapons. Iran denies it is seeking such weapons. IRNA quoted Mohammad Eslami, the head of Iran's atomic agency, saying it will take up to nine years to complete the new plants. The report said the four new plants are being built in the port town of Sirik on Iran's east coast, some 1,150 kilometres (715 miles) south of the capital, Tehran. Nasser Shariflou, the head of the project, told IRNA that the project will cost some $20 billion and will create 4,000 jobs. Each plant is expected to use 35 tonnes of nuclear fuel per year. https://c.newsnow.co.uk/A/1215383467?-14432:11 Nlfpmod mynd44

Joe Biden is weighing up launching strikes on Iranian military assets in the Persian Gulf after three Americans were killed in Jordan by a Tehran-backed drone. The president has demanded advisors present him with options on how to respond to the attack without dragging the US into battle in the Middle East, Politico reports. Insiders revealed any revenge bombings will taken place in the coming days as the commander-in-chief and military brass study a range of targets. Fears of war were sparked over the weekend when an Iran-backed drone killed three American soldiers at a remote base near Jordan's border with Syria. The victims were named on Monday as specialist Kennedy Ladon Sanders (pictured left), 24, specialist Breonna Moffett (pictured right), 23, and sergeant William Rivers (pictured center), 46. Iran-backed militias, calling themselves the Axis of Resistance, have also launched more than 160 strikes on US targets since the October 7 terror attack by Hamas. It comes at a delicate time for the White House, with Biden not seen out and about on Monday after sparking health fears due to a bumbling speech in South Carolina. Meanwhile Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin has only recently returned to the office after going AWOL to have prostate cancer surgery. On Sunday, the Axis claimed responsibility for the attack on the outpost in Jordan, saying it was a 'continuation of our approach to resisting the American occupation forces in Iraq and the region.' Iran's foreign ministry spokesman Nasser Kanaani said on Monday the militias 'do not take orders' from Iran and act independently. But Tehran is widely known to be the driving force for the attacks on the U.S. targets. Biden's own aides, according to The New York Times, admit the efforts to hit targets in the region in response to drone and missile attacks - to 'restore deterrence,' the administration says - have failed. The president, who was not publicly seen on Monday, but was shown in White House photos meeting his advisers, has ordered his team to draw up a list of options for retaliation. Politico reported that they include attacking Iranian personnel in Syria or Iraq, or Iranian naval assets in the Persian Gulf. Iran has suggested any strikes within Iran itself would cross a red line. Former CIA chief of staff Jeremy Bash said escalation is 'unavoidable'. He said: Biden 'cannot avoid the international challenges even in an election year.' He added: 'There is a sense that our deterrence measures to date have not been received by Tehran as we hoped, so escalation is unavoidable Once Biden has made his call, retaliation would likely begin a few days later and come in waves, against a range of targets. Campaign officials hope that the 81-year-old president, who spent six years as head of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee and has deep relationships with many key players in the Middle East, will impress wavering voters with his calm and competence. The Pentagon and State Department have spent decades drawing up scenarios and creating lists of possible targets. The New York Times reported that the U.S. has identified the major drone-making factories, and their overseas suppliers, which are working to help Russia in Ukraine, and providing armaments to the Houthis in Yemen and Hezbollah in Lebanon. The working assumption of American officials, the paper said, is that Sunday's attack was by an Iranian-made drone. The Pentagon has existing plans for potential strikes on Iranian missile sites and air bases, in case a conflict broke out between Iran and Israel. Israel has been carrying out high-profile bombing runs, practicing attacks on the Natanz nuclear site and the underground facility at Fordow. The U.S. has even formulated a cyberattack option against Iran, code-named 'Nitro Zeus,' the New York Times reported. The cyberattack would disable Iran's air defenses, communications systems and crucial parts of its power grid. Republicans, led by Trump, are demanding Biden take decisive action. Trump backed away from attacking Iran in November 2020, shortly after the election. He asked for options on attacking Iran's main nuclear site, a day after a U.N. watchdog report showed Iran had finished moving a first cascade of advanced centrifuges from an above-ground plant at its main uranium enrichment site to an underground one, in a fresh breach of its 2015 nuclear deal with major powers. https://c.newsnow.co.uk/A/1215038621?-2809:1022 Nlfpmod mynd44
