Beautiful city!! However,With all the billions of Naira spent, It should have been way better than this and comparable to the likes of cape town, Algiers and even Windhoek. Most of the satellite towns do not have good access roads and other basic amenities. The city is filled with houses that only a few off its citizens can afford. Showing us Transcorp Hilton from different angles hasn't done justice to this... My two cents |

CocoAces: Typical Nigerian, always equating success with affluence, lol. In any case, if you know your people well then you should know better than to try and compare yourself with another who has made it. In-fact, the richer a Nigerian man is, the more skeptical you should be of his riches, lol. I hope that makes sense. Also try not to put your eyez in others pocket yeh, and appreciate all you already have. oK peace! Yea so true... Like your half face lol |

I do not understand this man to be honest!! We have critical issues on ground and yet he is going to attend a nuclear security summit that is of no importance and relevance to Nigeria.. He should have just sent a discreet delegation Honestly I just give up!!! |

Siena: Multiply the 7 reasons to remain in Nigeria by at least 10. That will give you reasons NOT to remain in Nigeria. The way I see things, remain wherever you feel most at peace, and be happy. Nigeria is not home to everyone. I would NOT be happy living in Nigeria, not even if I was a billionaire. There's more to life than money and power. My point exactly...Infact you took the words out of my mouth. Nigeria is not home for everybody. Where ever you stay and you are happy and at peace, stay there. In advanced countries of the world you do not need to be a millionaire to live a decent life.In Nigeria one has to struggle to enjoy a decent lifestyle e.g providing your electricity, water etc I am still not convinced about the OP reasons to remain in Nigeria... Well whatever rocks your boat |

ttmacoy: Yes we don't have things like earthquakes, sub-zero temperature etc. in Nigeria but I still haven't seen how we have used that advantage.
Japan is a country that suffers from earthquakes and they have been very innovative in finding ways to build buildings which can withstand earthquakes. Countries like the US etc. have cities with sub-zero temperature during winter yet they find ways to advance and continually improve.
Scandinavian countries have very very cold winters yet the standard of living and quality of life is so much higher than Nigeria despite the fact we have very good weather.
China has extreme weather as well and yet despite that have been able to grow rapidly over the past decades. Dubai has extreme weather as well and yet see what they have achieved.
As they say necessity is the mother of invention, so I think if we had extreme weather or such in Nigeria it may have pushed us to be innovative in our thinking rather than depend on oil and keep praying for miracles.
Yes we can look at it as we have a lot to be thankful for (which in my opinion is just accepting mediocrity), but we can also look at it as Nigeria is like the servants in the bible who buried their talents and keeps praying to God, and God sits there shaking his head saying Nigeria oh Nigeria I have given you everything you need to be a great nation, but yet waste your potentials and keep calling my name. @ttmacoy I agree with you 100%.. our problems are man made not natural. We keep praying to God with out making efforts in changing our ways. We put religion at anything......God has blessed us abundantly with both human and natural resources but decades of bad leadership, Greed, and corruption has kept us in the dark... We really have a long way to go!!! |

emirati1: Forums like this expose the deficiency in the Nigerian Educational sector, Is it not glaring from those pictures, that the Chopper is airlifting the president from d villa to the Airport to join the presidential Jet? The president has always used the chopper from the villa to the airport instead of causing unnecessary traffic on the airport Road whenever he is traveling ...Hw can anyone imagine using a chopper for an almost 8hr flight? A lot of Educated illiterates on the prowl these day You just took the words out of my mouth..It beats my imagination when people say things like this.. |

kokoA: Fake people everywhere in this town. Thanks to Baba people are beginning to live on exactly what they earn. It is only in ABJ you'd find a civil servant of level 14 driving a car of 10million naira. I pray they begin to sell all those their empty houses scaterred all over. My thoughts exactly.. In a developed country like the UK and US this cannot happen as you will be probed and arrested. Your income must reflect in your lifestyle. A lot of overnight millionaires and billionaires in this city will be compelled to sell their luxury properties sooner or later |
