stagger: I do not understand how some people here reason.
People who were imprisoned in another country were brought home. Were they supposed to be just let into society just like that?
How do you sort out the serial rapists, killers, drug pushers and armed robbers from those just passing thru Libya without papers enroute to Europe (which in itself is an international offence)?
While I do not agree on keeping them in mainstream prisons, they ought to be held in a transit camp so they can be properly identified and their offences verified.
How are we not even sure some of these people went to Libya to train in Al-Qaeda camps to return here as Boko Haram terrorists? Can't your asss hole read? They were not given fair trials. Everything was done without a lawyer and in arabic as well. Are u humpty Dumpty! empty headed like two calabash joined together |

Kai! I remember when I was in Nigeria few years ago, it was hell! There was a church opposite my house and a mosque beside my house. The church would declared vigil from 12am till about 5am with claps and drums o! and by the time they finish I would sigh and plan to catch some sleep but alas! The mosque would start their own. It was not funny at that time though. |

That is why pretroleum industries have never created jobs in Nigeria whereas a potential 3millions jobs is being transfer to foreign company we buy fuel from!
NLC was only masses concerned but thay saw the truth. Nigerians refuse to know the truth. Please dont follow the multitude, they are almost ever wrong. That is how they killed Jesus! I am sure you think with your balls and not your brains. where do you want a man that earns 18,000 naira a month to get more money when the prices of things double in the market, having in mind that he was eating twice a day with that amount before the increment of PMS. where? And yet another error is the failure of government to appreciate that this issue is more about trust than spin. All over the world, governments suffer from trust deficits. It would have been expected that the Administration would invest a lot of effort into building trust with Nigerians by front-loading some of the palliatives. But rather than reassure Nigerians, the government chose a shock-and-awe approach. After promising that the subsidy will stay till March/April this year, the Administration removed the plug on January 1st, 2012. This ambush method is an expression of bad faith. It has seriously undercut whatever little trust people have in the government and more than anything else has activated widespread opposition against subsidy removal and the government itself.

Politics › Re: Subsidy: How Govt Lost The Plot by Finland(op): 8:18am On Jan 10, 2012 |

The first major misstep was in allowing the governors to lead the charge. It would be recalled that the governors met with the President in late June 2011 and called for the removal of fuel subsidy so that they could have money to pay the minimum wage. This was the first strategic error. By making this an issue about more money for government, the governors succeeded in muddling the water and solidifying opposition to the reform agenda. Why should Nigerians endure certain pains for uncertain promises from governors who, save for a few, have not given good account of the resources in their custody? The Administration did nothing to reframe the issue. (Yet, the cardinal rule is that you should be the first to frame the issue and on your own terms). Worse, the government keeps courting the governors as allies, even when it is clear that the governors as a group lack both the credibility and the capital to help when the attendant anger expectedly mutates into demonstrations, strikes and riots.
• Adio is a member of Thisday Editorial Board. Source: http://www.thisdaylive.com/articles/subsidy-how-govt-lost-the-plot/106801/ It was never about the masses. It was never about the in-fracture. It was about more money for the corrupt governors |
