Minimum wage that can lose its value the moment it is approved.
Raising amounts and not halting inflation is a waste of time.
Focus should be on policies and moves that will keep prices down or reduce it

An average Nigerian votes based on the combinations of perceived competence of candidate, religion, tribe, personal or community interest and party affiliations. The combination and the weight attached to each of these is dynamic and changes based on the background of those who are contesting.

It is what it is.

All these claims that one tribe votes only on competency and others do not is not backed by any serious evidence.

all you just stated are hogwash and shows you clearly does not know what you are talking about!

DOJ is a federal agency, had they gone after him on this, it would have been publicized more that it is the Biden federal government that is prosecuting him.

Plus Elections in the USA are state matters and not federal, so a State and not a federal agency like DOJ would have more tools and jurisdiction to prosecute him.

What is FECA? Is that Federal Employee's Compensation Act, what do they have to do with this?

Which Electoral Body are you taking about? Again the USA does not have a separate Electoral body, each state administers her elections themselves and advance laws to protect their own election hence a State is prosecuting him here.

Change of venue is at the discretion of the Judge and Trump had already appealed the denial for a change of venue before, but the New York Court of Appeal denied that request. Forum shopping is not allowed in the US, he did the crime in NYC, it is only fair that he face a jury of his peer in NYC.

Offcourse they will have to appeal, but what are the material facts upon which they will appeal? Remember that, Trump have already made several appeals on this case and each and every one of them have been denied...base of his track records, the chances of success are very slime.

You can stay in your bubble and pretend everything that happened was done above board. Experience have taught me over the years of following US politics is that its a waste of time arguing on Trump related matter with partisans on the left and right and those who are caught up with the "Trump is Hitler" bug.

Let's see how it goes after the appeal. The only thing I will correct is the error I made writing FECA instead of FEC.

Trump is the next President of the United States of America, whether the corrupt democrats like it or not.

Never underestimate what the democrats can do to hold power. They were caught unaware in 2016 because they thought Hilary had it in the bag and Trump was a clown no one will vote for.

Now they would do anything and convince themselves its for the right cause, as long as "Hitler" is destroyed

1. The US has the lowest inflation rate of any developed economy in the world right now
2. A bipartisan border bill meant to address the issues at the border was tanked by no one else but Donald Trump. He intends to use it as a cudgel against Joe Biden
3. The US president has little to do with the price of gas. Still, the US has fairly cheaper gas than most of Europe
4. Iran nearing nuclear arms is solely the result of Donald Trump pulling out of the Iranian nuclear deal

I know reality flies in the face of the narrative you are trying to paint. But a little research from your end to show you that most of what you have said lacks substance.

Lol. This looks exactly like what MSNBC turns out daily. The US economy is so good that Biden and the liberal media just can't understand why the people are even complaining.

And of course, even if Trump supposedly caused all these, what has Biden been doing in the past 4 years to correct these? For a man than came in and immediately cancelled all of Trump's immigration policies that kept immigration a bit under control, and now has a massive immigration disaster on his hand, he has surely done a lot

He committed the alleged crime in a 90-95% democrats area and even in the very city and state he was a resident of until a few years ago. A state where he grew up, amass his wealth and built his businesses in.

He was convicted by 12 men and women whom his very own defense team helped in selecting. Instead of looking for excuses or conspiracy theories, we should just accept the fact that he more than likely DID IT and the Jury was correct!

All his defense team needed to do was to convince JUST ONE JURY that he was innocent or sow a seed of doubt in just one person's mind, and they could not do it. The DA had a more tougher job, they had to convince all 12 juries and they did!

This is not a conspiracy. If judges and juries are always right, the system will not create room for appeal.

There is a reason the Justice Department didn't pursue the charge. There is a reason FECA, the electoral regulatory body looked at it and dropped it. There is a reason why a change of venue was not allowed. I can go on and on but its best to wait for the appeal process to be exhausted and a final judgment delivered.

Trump might have grown up in NY, but he is hated or at best disliked by the predominantly democrats city who have consistently voted 80-90 percent against him.

Except boycotting the case entirely which is impossible, his defense team has no choice but to go through and resort to appeal if not satisfied at the end.

I followed the case closely. The verdict is most likely going to be reversed on appeal but that can take a year or more. The case is weak and convoluted but Trump was most likely going to be convicted by jurors picked from a 90-95% democrats area.

In the meantime, he will be tagged convicted felon by the democrats and media ahead of the election which I think is what the democrats want. Its a political play and hardball, and the left hate Trump intensely that they will do anything to destroy him and justify it. To them he is Hitler and Stalin rolled together

I dont think I need to respond to this brazen and absurd falsehood.

This is because Egypt -

1. Is not the occupying power with respect to Gaza and West Bank
2. Maintains its border for the main purpose of avoiding a clash with that very same occupying power.

In prisons the world over, smuggling of illiicit goods such as drugs, tobacco and alcohol still occur. That there is successful smuggling into Gaza does not disprove its status as a prison. It actually affirms it, because if it were not blockaded, there would be no need for smuggling. They would simply legitimately import arms just the way other free countries do.

Names are not so relevant as actually history. Names come from many sources. That the world "Nigeria"is a British invention does not mean the peoples called Nigerians today did not already live in the space called Nigeria today.

The United Nations and the International Community have recognized Israeli settlements on the West Bank as illegal for decades now. There is no justification for them. What does the word ïntifada mean? It means uprising. And yes, a captive people have a right to rise up and revolt. Even violently, yes, because they are kept captive with violence.

Millions of black South Africans had access to white reserved areas in apartheid South Africa with their work passes in order to go and work. What part of the mechanics of cheap slave labor do you fail to understand?

You accuse me of lying and yet you lie with breathtaking ease.
At all events, they have all been flattened as we speak - under the usual Israeli excuse that they are actually Hamas bases.

Now here is what you biblical lot fail to understand. Populations move. Migration is a steady fact of history. Conquest, wars, famines, trade, and myriad other factors ensure the constant fluidity of populations.

Now settle down and understand. Jerusalem was sacked in 70 A.D, almost 2000 years ago. After that, most of the Jews moved into diaspora, in the middle east as well as Europe. Mostly into Europe. In the intervening time, there was the rise of Christianity and Islam. At the time of the first crusade about one thousand years ago, Arabs had already migrated into the land called Palestine (I have told you already that the fact that Rome gave the name is inconsequential). And through four to five crusades which lasted centuries, Arabs and European Christians contested that land and dwelt there along with a small Jewish remnant, because the majority of Jews had since moved into diaspora.

Now, you have European settlers who are recognized as indigenes of America even though they only moved there in the last few centuries. How can you claim that Arabs who have been in Palestine for over a thousand years from the time of the crusades are not indigenous to the land? Indeed, they were the dominant people of that land thoughout the last millenium all the way down to the time of the Ottoman Empire which also colonized the place.

After the second world war, there was a move by European powers to resolve the Jewish question of Europe by creating a Jewish state. And because Britain held Palestine under a United Nations Mandate, they were able to create the State of Israel in 1948 under a United Nations mandate. And for this reason, Jews who had been living in Europe for 2000 years, Jews who had been thoroughly Europeanized therefore, were moved back to a Palestine which already had Arabs dwelling there for more than a thousand years. There is no way you can claim that a settler population which had lived in Europe for the last two thousand years to the extent that they have become white - unlike the brown color of their semitic cousins in the same region - are more indigenous to the land than those who have dwelt there for the last one thousand years.

And yes, this is why it is not wrong to call them Europeans. They are settlers from Europe, and many of them are not actual Jews. Any serious observer knows that the Israelis of today are simply not the same as the Israelites of the bible. Those Israelities of the bible were semitic people just as Arabs are semitic people - they were not the caucasian white men we see in Israel today. They were every bit as brown skinned as Arabs are today.

Needless to say, when you try such a settlement of a foreign poulation, conflict will break out. That Israel came out on top is a fact of life based on the technological superiority of the Europeans. This says nothing about the authentic and historical issues at play. \

Since that time, every peace agreement which has arisen from the Western world to resolve this issue is horribly skewed. At all events, the apartheid repressive policies which the European colonial settlers have maintained agains the indigenous Arabs remain inhumane and condemnable by all people of conscience.

And Ashkenazi Europeans. Please try not to send me to google. I find that irritating.

I know where he was born. And it is inconsequential.

I have not insulted you today. You have started again and later you will end up the way you did the other day by calling me rude.

Please try not to ask me to read up elementary things.

This is not a mere appeal to authority. Mandela and Tutu are not professional experts in some field of knowledge such as humanitarian sciences. They are people who lived through a very very real, very very vicious and visceral racist system and they are recognized heroic fighters against that injustice. It is not unreasonable to think that such people will be in a vantage position to recognize the very system they laboured against when pepertuated yet again by Europeans in another land.

At all events you should be careful with the negation of what may appear an appeal to authority. As a lawyer, I know very well that even courts of law, which are places of evidence, place reliance on the testimony of both experts in a field as well as people who have had substantal experience of a matter. So some appeals to authority can be rational, and i put it to you that even where citing the views of Mabiba and Tutu are an appeal to authority, it would be a rational one.

Firstly, there is no reason why Arabs will not be part of Israel when as I have told you, they have lived tehre for over a thousand years. It is the Israeli population that was imported, not them. Secondly this takes nothing away from the reality of apartheid being enforced against the Palestinians of the West Bank and Gaza.

I dont think your focusing this issue around Jesus is useful in anyway. As far as the Jews are concerned there are far more important historical figures than Jesus. Such as Abraham, who came from Ur of the Chaldeans - a place which was in modern day Iraq. So be careful when you want to go back into history and just how far back yoy want to go.

And how did the so called promised land now become the inheritance of his descendants? Because their mountain deity told them to go and kill the Canaanites there and take the land as theirs, right? By genocide right? Please see the book of Samuel to read the specific genocidal injunctions of Yahweh where he decrees that even the cattle of the people who owned that land should be slaughtered. Is this the biblical history on which you benchmark your belief that this land belongs to "the chosen people?"

cc: tctrills. I only tag you here because I doubt I will ever have the special energy to address you on some of the issues touched on here. I can only pray that you will think seriously about them for once.

Defending the indefensible. They can smuggle rockets and guns but can't smuggle the cookies their children need?

Okay. Don't go to the Sambisa. Just try to stop a robbery operation in a bank. If you have the power to be feared by armed robbers, you have to put the power to God's work. If you don't use such power to save lives by stopping robbery in a bank, you are abusing the power.

No. That is also being presumptuous. If Christ with all his power will avoid those who are trying to kill Him (John 7:1), who are we not do. You do not deliberately and voluntarily expose yourself to danger and expect God to step in, especially if you are not a Christian that fully fulfills the conditions for divine protection and deliverance

This man is acting like a shortsighted fool. If you cannot prove something with sufficient evidence, you either hold your peace or go back, bid your time and gather sufficient evidence whenever another opportunity presents itself. Otherwise, you will just turn yourself into a loony conspiracy theorist among sane and objective people.

Has he ever given it a thought that if he ever wins an election in the future, someone else can adopt the same position towards him. At that time, he will be the one claiming he wins and criticizing others of not accepting the result.

That's being presumptuous. Go where you are not meant to be or do what you are not supposed to do, and you are likely on your own.

God's divine protection and in fact all of God's promises are conditional - something sadly not properly taught or obscured by many men of God.

Define amicably. Doesn't it boggle the mind that we are still talking about negotiating a 2009 agreement that govt keeps running away from? Multiple attempts by ASUU to get federal government to make good on signed agreements and they are still called names. If government is sincere these demands by ASUU will be met by sundown. I doubt earned allowance owed is even up to half of 90bn but they rather spend on Hajj with zero returns on investment

Amicably means without striking. If strikes didn't work over these many years, I wonder if it will ever work. Strikes probably had more bite many years back when we had only public universities. But now?

Sports / Re: Your Thoughts On CAF's 2-Legged Final Play-Off? by firearcher: 2:23pm On May 21
I understand CAF's position. Football is money. CAF will definitely make more money and fill the stadium for each final match using this approach. They get to the chance to earn double for tickets, TV rights, etc

Unlike Europe, fans in neutral venues don't turn out enmasse to watch clubs from other countries, except if maybe they want to throw the stadium open for free. They certainly won't pay premium price. If there are renowned stars in both team, maybe they might attract some fans but beyond that, forget it. Except if their governments will cover the cost which is often the case.

And the finalists fans? How many can afford to travel? Africa is also big and international travels is still a lot of headache.

Regardless however, I don't like the idea of a 2-legged finals. We have tried it before and the home-win at all cost was the order of the day. Officials and players are all placed under undue pressure and the North Africans are the worst at hosting such finals.

CAF should explore other opportunities and options before reverting to this outdated practice.

Lol. I always smile when Nigerian commentators claim tax payers money on TV because I know the Nigerian government at national and subnational levels largely don't rely on tax revenue. They rely and depend on oil money. And I guess we are cool with it as long as government doesn't disturb us for taxes.

And that's why most can spend and steal anyhow because they really didn't work for it and their citizens also cannot seriously claim that their "tax payer" money is being mismanaged and stolen. What they can claim is that politicians alone are stealing "common wealth" forgetting that this "wealth" is coming from a part of the country and we are only laying claim to them by association in this union called Nigeria.

When Nigerians truly start parting more with their hard earn money in form of taxes, we will start holding our government more accountable.

We must learn to punish bad behaviour in Nigeria to deter others.

Here is a business owner admitting he had to count his losses.

On the contrary, we saw someone who arrogated public land to himself. He lied about his worth of investments being demolished. He claimed what he built in 6 years, was demolished in six hours and he miraculously rebuilt in 6 days.

What is 666 again?

When he arrogated public land to himself, some Nigerians took his side against public interest.

Now that it became clear he lied about the worth of what was demolished, we all move on and he said he is open for business.

He did not apologize. He is not accountable. And we move on.

He misled the public. He ought to be arrested or fined to serve as a warning.

Lol. That man even fail to realise that when that road is completed, his business will also benefit from the number of businesses and people that will now operate, travel and move along that corridor.

If not for the construction, how many Nigerians even knew the business exist there. Now compare it to when that place opens up completely.

He is short-sighted and above all selfish like some of our politicians who are probably his cronnies. They will willingly sacrifice the greater good for their own selfish interests
