Nigerians think they are doing UK a favour forgetting that these people are doing it primarily for their own interest and good too. And the moment they think it's no longer favouring them, they will shut the door.

And when they need to again, they will open up and the cycle continues.

I guess many Nigerians of recent generation have never witnessed a mega project of this scale designed and executed in their lifetime before. Most of the infrastructure we rely on today were built many decades ago, some even before Nigeria's independence.

Projects like this is what Nigeria needs to improve the future of her people. I commend the current government for the courage to embark on it. If they don't do it, the money will still probably end up somewhere else with nothing to show for it.

I wish them all the best and hope this master plan is not abandoned by successive government.

Lagos is what it is today because the LASG govern with a master plan which successive adminstration have been faithful to. Otherwise, it will have collapsed under the weight of its own population.

When rich men and their friends in government divide our national assets and territories among themselves, they forget that those governments officials won't be in power forever.

Its just appalling the ethnic dimension this has taken. If Landmark has right to the land, he should take it to court and dispute with the FG as required legally.

Anyway, too bad this project is going to affect the man, but ultimately it will benefit more than just him, but millions of Nigerians and businesses.

If he's entitled to compensation, he should take it and move on. Everywhere in the world, there is room and provision for such.

Nigerians should also stay away from buying lands that belong to the government. The friends and cronies you have in government will not be there forever.

Some years back, I was once offered a land that is along a planned government road and I found out at the last minute from a friend who warned me. There are many others who already built on those lands and the agent tried to use that to convince me that nothing will be done since those buildings have been there for a long time and the road never materialized.

I dumped the idea immediately and I have since got another land for my project. The road in that area still have not been built and probably may not in my lifetime, but I treasure my peace of mind more than anything else. If however one administration eventually decided in the future they want to use that road, I won't be caught up in what is bound to follow.

What most people forget is that many organisations start small and doesn't become big overnight. Sometimes it takes years to grow big enough to do some things some people are calling for.

Once again understand that it is FG's responsibility to build roads and seaports not state governments.

I seriously don't understand the SS. With the amount they get in FG allocation and taxes from oil companies, these states should be the most developed and leading states in the country.

The government has a point but the issue may not be a priority at this moment. It is also an idea that can definitely be finetuned until the right balance is achieved.

I am disappointed in the Punch editorial in the sense that it only sets out to castigate the government and not really weigh the pros and cons of the policy. You can disagree with the government priority but still acknowledge that the issue has its own merit.

Being rushed into secondary school and consequently into the university nearly messed me up but God had mercy on me and helped me rediscover myself before I got lost completely. But not after I have taken some damages to my self-esteem and self-confidence. A damage that took me many years to rebuild.

Merge NSCDC and Road safety, that becomes more money during budgeting and allocation. This people do not have the interest of the masses. They talk for their belly

I believe he's intelligent enough to consider the cons of this move and I agree with him. He is just not objective enough to admit that the failure of the police led to the creation of those other agencies.

Only very few states in Nigeria can operate an effective State police. The state governors are alpha and omega of the states and they have total grip on all the arms of government in their state compared to the President. Give then their own police and they will control it with no checks and balance.

There are various steps to take and systems to put in place before we can successfully run states police. If we can do that, then its fine. If not, the idea should be suspended at the moment.

If Nigeria is attacked today, these are the people we will turn to to defend us, not our politicians, social media influencers, political commentators and our various celebrities. So I salute them and wish them well.
