SportsRe: Super Eagles And Super Falcons Players Back Alex Iwobi After He Was Cyberbullied by firearcher: 8:51am On Feb 13, 2024
We see them everywhere... the bullies. Even here on NR. They will reap what they sow in real life.

TheFarmer1:
Super Eagles had a possession of 33% as against a 67% possession by Ivory Coast. Super Eagles had only one shot on target while the Ivorian Team had 7 shots. Nigeria had 1 shot off target while Ivory Coast had 6. Now tell me why Super Eagles deserved to win this competition?
What a mediocre team, bereft of that zeal to lift the Cup. The inability of our strikers and attacking midfielders to score goals earlier in this competition was a red flag. It was as if we progressed through the group stage, and indeed the knockout stages, by sheer luck.

What a beautiful waste!
Even if they played a different tactic and have higher stats and they lost, some people will still attack and criticise them.

How can you call a team that got to the final of AFCON mediocre losing no game all the way until the final? If luck had carried them this far, what then carried CIV?

We should learn to always be grateful and celebrate others efforts even if they falter in the end. There's a time for everything, a time to grateful and a time to look back and Thankfully many of these players are professionals and should not be too affected by all these cynical feedbacks.

Totally awesome captain, a defender whose attacking stats overshadowed the stats of the highly overrated gangling dude with the wannabe batman mask ( African player of the year with just one goal in the entire tournament, what a shame). Cheers to William troost Ekong. A one man squad.
Please relax. His two penalties were secured by the same man you call wannabe batman. Its a team game, and everyone success lies in part with the effort of the whole team.

Why do Nigerians complain so much when things don't go their ways. Everyone has his/her day, today just wasn't that of the Super Eagles. It's nauseating to see several unnecessary posts based on emotional sentiments flood the internet space. That our players didn't win today doesn't mean they didn't put in their best, the opponents were simply better. More so, mistakes are what make football games interesting, because without them there definitely won't be winners. Let's absorb our errors and forge ahead.

Stop dissing blame cards to the Super Eagles... remember they made it this far against all odds.
Exactly. Just shows how ungrateful and unappreciative a lot of people are. The SE tried and surpassed most people's expectations. To get to a final isn't child's play. There are many other teams that wished they played tonight but it didn't work out for them.
The boys should hold their heads high! We can only learn and move forward
SportsRe: Ivory Coast Are AFCON 2023 Champions by firearcher: 11:38pm On Feb 11, 2024
Kudos to the guys. They tried. No one gave them a chance at the beginning but they went all the way to the final.

You win some, you lose some. Life goes on.

I wish them well in their future matches and career.

It's not even about Tinubu, or Atiku or obi, it's about the system. If the system of governance in Nigeria is not changed or reformed. Things wld keep getting worse.

Have anyone noticed that the previous administration is always better in Nigeria. Things keep getting worse after each administration.

Let all Law Enforcement Officers take caution. Nigerians are already frustrated. Its a chaotic order of survival over civility.

The Government has failed them. The citizens are angry and fustrated. They no longer have money to finance the affluence of those in power & authority.

Personally, i feel no pity for the officer, he should have curtailed his overbloated ego. Discretion is the better part of valour. I always tell my friend in military/paramilitary; no do gra-gra with any Nigerian citizen.

Wisdom, the bible says, is profitable to direct.
You will excuse law breaking and attempted murder because there is hunger in the land? Because there is hunger in the land, we should all start acting like animals, killing, robbing and murdering ourselves

where is the good news? Is bcoz government has been lieing for years so people don't trust anything from them anymore! They said they signed MOU with Siemens a German company to improve electricity in Nigeria... last year they were snapping big big transformers and posting on social media and people were jubilating, today nothing is being heard about it anymore. In short, national grid collapsed again this week. They went to Ethiopia and borrowed their aircraft to come and lie that is Nigeria air for our national carrier, it turned out to be all lies... They are thieves. What do you expect people to do?? Continue listing to these thieves?? Not possible
Everyone has a choice to believe what they want to believe. Truth will be truth and lies will be lies.

don't forget we had world-class strikers like Lookman and Osimhen on our side, against an 100% home-grown SA team. They dominated us throughout first half...we came back like 20 mins into second half but they dominated from then till the end of second half. Penalty is a lottery and we won it, SA were too over confident due to their Keeper's performance during their Penalty against Cape Verde
Which penalty be lottery? You for just use any player or any keeper then if penalty is a lottery.

Can you imagine?! Just to collect money and pay workers is an Herculean task for them. Zero policies, zero initiatives, zero wealth creation, nothing! Nigeria!

One fact we Nigerians always forget is that Lagos, Kaduna, Kano, Rivers states could have decided to become redundant like others, if they so chose to.
Tragic isn't it. I am even more disappointed in all the states in close proximity to Lagos. So much opportunities, so very little vision.

They have no clue what their state governors are doing. Tragic isn't?
I don't pity the FG though, they love to be in the center of everything so they should enjoy the attacks and criticisms. They seem to forget that without the states performing at their optimal level, all their federal efforts won't achieve much.

it's not the goals that matter. His presence can make two or three players useless in the opposition team as they will be busy holding him down and others will be able to score.

That's how important quality players are
True. Take off Osimhen from the game and your opponents confidence especially the defenders will double. Every Lookman's goals are due to space created by Osimhen.

Take him out at your own risk.

Christianity EtcRe: Is It Acceptable To Withhold Tithes If I Disagree With The Pastor? by firearcher: 3:33pm On Feb 04, 2024
fuckJones:
I have so many questions bordering me and I want christians in the house to help me.

1.Is it acceptable to withhold tithes if I disagree with the pastor's or the church's spending?

2. can I pay my tithe in the different church fromt the one I attended?

3. Is it correct for a pastor of a church and his family to use the church income, i.e. tithes, offering and third party income for their own use, especially since the church is not registered as their property? If no , what do you call their actions

4. Is it biblically okay for most of the pastors to ask for tithe on every Sunday? I mean why do they have to remind them every time, instead of letting people choose if they are okay to give their money!

5. can pastor says my church?

6.Which is better, tithing in a rich church where the pastor has his own flight or giving money to a street preacher?

7 .Why does my pastor make me feel guilty for not tithing when I cannot afford it?
1. No. You are paying the tithe in obedience to God and not to man so you should not withdraw it. How the tithe is spent is not really your business. That is between God and the church leader. But I also believe there can be exceptional cases where wisdom could call for it.

2. Your tithe should go to your local church where you worship and serve. You can give offering to other churches if you wish to give to them.

3.Your tithe is meant to be used to take care of their personal needs amongst other needs of the church. That's why God requested it. That's how the Levites are taken care of in the bible.

4. It is not wrong to remind people of or collect tithe every Sunday or service because people earn daily, weekly and monthly. It is not also wrong to remind people who will easily forget to do the right thing.

5. Yes he can. If he leads the church at that point. But the church ultimately belong to God and many good pastor knows that..

6. See no. 2

5. Tithing is sacrificial but it is ultimately a freewill giving. God doesn't force men to do His will and His servants should not do so too. Tithe is a 10th of your income so its based on what you earn or are giving. You won't have tithe to pay only when you don't have any income.

PoliticsRe: Onanuga: S/Africa Has Worsening Insecurity Than Nigeria, Temper The Headlines by firearcher: 8:33pm On Jan 31, 2024
Politics mixed with tribalism and partisanship is a terrible mix, and the end result is often the bile and hatred we are confronted with on NR every day. Funny though, visit American forums too and you will see the same hatred and dislike driven by political, ideological and tribal sentiments.

There is no nation on earth without its own problems. I follow international news media and you need to see how citizens of all these nations complain bitterly of the problems they face. Its human nature to easily focus only on the bad and forget the good, an unfortunate weakness that often turns us into cynical, ungrateful and unappreciative bunch.

Sometimes we just need to remember that regardless of the evil going on around us, there are also good things taking place. Then we can at least appreciate those labouring to make things work and recognise whatever progress they make.

There are many Americans, especially blacks who would protest against their own police, call them racist and call for their dissolution. Yet, in the middle of danger, they will still call on these same police they claim they dislike and demand that they risk their lives for theirs.

NOETHNICITY:
According to you, if Dangote imports crude and sells refined petroleum to other countries, it wouldn’t benefit Nigerians!!!!

Your analysis is plain dumb. The biggest problem with Nigerians is dumbness. Half education. And we feel the multiple effects of this half education on our institutions.
Everything often has two sides - the positive and the negative. Some chooses to focus only on the negatives because that's what's their heart desires and intentionally ignore the positives. So its not half education per se for some, it is just dishonesty and deliberate ignorance rooted in negativity.

One shouldn't worry too much about such opinions as they always end up disappointed. They are the same people that never thought the refinery will ever take off in the first place.
BusinessRe: Dangote Refinery To Import Crude Oil From The United States by firearcher: 8:39am On Jan 30, 2024
All these screaming over Dangote this Dangote that. The business will be ran like any other business and the nation will benefit where necessary. There will be challenges and there will be opportunities, there will be setbacks and there will be benefits, still life goes on.

But for those whose all focus is only negative and negative, that's all you will see for as long as you want to.

May God comfort them.

But food for thought. Some evil sometimes happen to people because of some things they did in secret as well as things their parents or blood relatives have done.

That's why all these politicians, strong men, kidnappers, robbers and others who murder and rob the innocents of their lives and properties and cause untold pains to others will suffer same fate later.

They will pay with their own pain or those of their loved ones.

So if you are engaged in any of these wicked acts, God is watching. You or your loved ones will reap what you sow.
