Gbawe: Yes and you should show some respect for one of the most administratively sought-after and lauded talent to come out of Africa. Perhaps some of you need to be reminded of this fact when you dump Fashola into the category of political jobbers and 'desperados' many of your political leaders are. If you must mention me, do so sensibly and not in a mischievous manner.
Am I Fashola's mind reader to then be asked by you about his "political future"? What I know is that Fashola will be very okay whether he is in politics or not beyond 2015. Worry about the incompetent leaders you support who have nowhere at all to go if the political well runs dry. If not how Nigerians are so shamelessly divided is Fashola not one of the Nigerians we should all be proud of? For his international profile, there is nothing stopping Fashola becoming an important and powerful global Administrator of African descent like Kofi Annan. That is the sort of respect Fashola uncommonly commands as a Nigerian administrator/politician. The rest of humanity worldwide is not as clannish, ethnocentric, bigoted, politically biased or myopic as Nigerians are. I do have much respect for Fashola, but unfortunately his much achieved fame was only in his FIRST TERM in office. The fame is vaporized already. No thanks to the overburden of his Grand Master, Tinubu. Fashola disappointed us in his SECOND TERM in office making him lose all reputation and accolades. Until he could set himself free from the tyrant, he could be taking a leave from Nigeria politics. I wish him Goodluck in the future. Shalom! |

PhockPhockMan: I admire the president’s courage. APigC can go to hell. Nigeria has passed that level where a cabal will keep holding whole country hostage. A day to PDP Rally last year, evil forces lead by APC, bombed Abuja. Some days to the commencement Of World Economic Conference in Abuja, they bombed yobe, during centenary celebration, they also struck. All these just to derail Jonathan government and make it look clueless. Huge disappointment await them. |

The All Progressives Congress has described as “utterly insensitive and absolutely callous” the decision by President Goodluck Jonathan to declare his second term ambition a day after almost 50 students were killed and about 80 injured in a suicide bombing in Potiskum, Yobe State. The party in a statement on Tuesday, accused the President of “dancing on the graves of the students” as well as of all the victims of the Boko Haram insurgency in the country. ”Since this President has chosen to celebrate a national tragedy, Nigerians should also be ready to celebrate his electoral failure next year,” the party said the statement by its National Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Lai Mohammed. ”Today, the three North-East states of Adamawa, Borno and Yobe are in danger of being overrun by Boko Haram and over 650,000 Nigerians are internally displaced in those states by the insurgency. Yet, President Jonathan says he puts Nigerians first. Lies have never worn a bolder face. The truth is that for President Jonathan, it is Jonathan first, Jonathan second, Jonathan third, Jonathan always!” The opposition party added that with the latest “act of blatant hard-heartedness, Jonathan was only continuing along his well-trodden path of acting without deep introspection. AC said, ”When about 60 students were killed in the terror attack on the Federal Government College, Buni Yadi, in February 2014, President Jonathan never visited the scene to commiserate with the families of the victims. When over 80 people were killed in the first Nyanya bombing in April 2014, President Jonathan went dancing ‘Azonto’ in Kano less than 48 hours later. And when almost 300 girls were freshly abducted in Chibok, President Jonathan neither acted fast enough to rescue the girls nor visited the village. His Administration even denied anyone was abducted, until 19 days after! ”This President has therefore established a pattern of putting his political interest above the security and welfare of Nigerians who voted him into office. This President has trampled upon the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, which makes the security and welfare of the citizenry the raison d’etre of the government’s existence. “It is time for Nigerians to respond in kind by trampling on his political ambition and sending him back to Otuoke.” The party queried the logic behind the Safe Schools Initiative of the Federal Government when over 70 students were killed and more than 100 maimed within a week in two separate attacks targetting a religious procession and schools in Potiskum alone. “The Safe Schools Initiative will remain a mere tokenism until the fundamental problem of insurgency, which has claimed thousands of lives, is conclusively addressed. Mr. President, what Nigerians want is not an isolated Safe Schools Initiative, but a Safe Nigeria Initiative,” it added. [/s] APC & National Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Liar Mohammed...

Mile 2 to Badagry is not part of Lagos... You cannot see any sign of MEGA-CITY in that region.
The 8 lanes are now a mirage, Mile 2 to Apapa has become a death trap.
All Local Government and Development Centers in that region are only sharing the Federal Allocation.
I understand the Federal Government Road in that area is long abandoned, unfortunately the LG & State Government the closest to the people have likewise abandoned that part since 1999.
Lagosians deserve more than what they got from ACN now APC in their 16 Years rule of Lagos.
It is time for you guys (Lagosians) to show APC the way out of Alausa.

On the ongoing distribution of permanent voter cards in the state, Fashola said the Independent National Electoral Commission has shown that it was poised to do the bidding of some political interests. Apparently referring to the INEC Chairman, Prof. Attahiru Jega, the governors said “if you take a job you cannot do, resign.” “I don’t know what else an electoral commission would be doing after an election other than to be planning for the next election. Let me be fair and admit that election planning is a very huge logistics. I know election do not achieve 100 per cent. That is why election monitors look out for a minimum standard; not what the umpire says but what the participants say. If the foundation of the election which is the voters’ registration is faulty then we may be heading for trouble.” “This is what should have been over four years. When INEC started this exercise, they started with six states; another six states and one expected that they would get better. Suddenly, they took 12 states at the same and halfway they said they were abandoning some states. What kind of message are you sending? Look at the states involved Lagos, Kano and Rivers, in the South-South, easily the largest in that area. Ogun State, densely populated, sharing borders with Lagos. These make up a significant voting population.” http://www.punchng.com/politics/i-dont-know-my-political-future-fashola/ |

With six months left in his tenure, Governor Babatunde Fashola of Lagos State has said he did not know what his next step in politics would be.
Fashola, who said this during an interview with Channels Television, noted that in spite of the efforts of the Peoples Democratic Party, his party, the All Progressives Congress, would retain Lagos State in 2015.
When asked what his next step in politics would be, he said, “I don’t know honestly. I do well in multitasking. I have a job to do that runs until May 2015. And up till now people haven’t stopped asking me and my government for services. My mandate expires on the 29th of May and I’m going to give my best shot until the very final hour.”
He added that that he hoped that his successor would be able to do better than he has done.
On whether he would influence the emergence of the next governor of Lagos, Fashola said it was left for the electorate to decide.
“I’ve met those who are running for governor on the platform of my party and I think all of them are good enough to lead us but the ultimate choice of who will lead us will depend on the larger body polity and the registered voters,” he said |

“But now when they count those contesting for president they will first count Rochas Okorocha, before Buhari, Atiku Abubakar and Kwankwaso. “When they said they have zoned the presidency to the North, I asked, “When was the meeting held?” “Now we have zoned it to Igboland. In 2015, there will be a turnaround in the fortunes of Ndigbo.” Recalling the suicide bombing at a school in Yobe State earlier on Monday, in which several students died, Okorocha said that the PDP had failed God. He said Igbo had been neglected by President Goodluck Jonathan such that no Igbo man is currently occupying any prominent position in the country. He also accused prominent Igbo PDP politicians of not caring about the well being of Igbo. “They only know themselves; they don’t care about Igbo. APC is an emergency party for a new Nigeria; I would not have joined APC if PDP was doing well. We will defeat PDP in 2015,” he declared. Okorocha stressed that he had the resources to realise his ambition, noting that he was richer than his rivals in the PDP. He also presented two APC governorship aspirants in Enugu State, Dr. Ifeanyi Asogwa and Okey Ezea, to the crowd at the rally. Addressing the two governorship aspirants as “excellencies in waiting,” Okorocha advised them to emulate his achievements in Imo State when anyone of them becomes the governor of Enugu State. He urged the people of Enugu to vote the APC aspirants, whom he described as “my people in whom I am well pleased.” A former governor of Anambra State, Senator Chris Ngige, and many other APC chieftains were at the event. http://www.punchng.com/news/i-will-be-president-in-2015-okorocha/ |

Imo State Governor Rochas Okorocha on Monday in Enugu declared his intention to contest next year’s presidential election, saying his victory had been prophesied.
“In 2015 I will be the president of the country,” Okorocha declared to loud cheers from broom-wielding members of the All Progressives Congress at a rally attended by prominent members of the party in the South-East.
The governor, who spoke in Igbo and English languages, said his emergence as the country’s president after the 2015 presidential polls would surprise many, particularly the ruling Peoples Democratic Party.
Okorocha, whose speech was punctuated with exclamations of “my people, my people,” said the APC presidential ticket was never zoned to the North.
He said his name would come first on the list of APC presidential aspirants and that when the party’s aspirants were being counted, his would be mentioned before those of a former military Head of State, Maj.-Gen. Muhammadu Buhari (retd.); former Vice President Atiku Abubakar; and Kano State governor, Rabiu Kwankwaso.
He said, “Three months ago when I said I want to be president they asked, “Can an Igboman be president?” |
