jmakinde: 19. I am currently on queue awaiting my application to be assigned to a Case Officer (CO) which depends on so many factors that is currently responsible for the current delay in visa assignment backlogs issues they are facing now.
The initial process was that it takes up to 4 months before the co will be allocated but i guess am already 4 months today from when my application was lodged. However it could take up to 6 months or more. It obvious many Nigerians are not taking up this route but instead using student visa which is still a good option. Good Day Makinde, Have you been assigned a Case Officer now. |

akinshokun: Hi Jmakinde and The Nairaland Family,
I am also a quiet observer in this thread.
I am presently in step 8.
I would like to know if I can do the medicals and police clearance while my NZQA IQA assessment is completed.
My Wife's NZQA preliminary assessment is ready.
I am trying to avoid all delays possible.
I am also a Functional Consultant under the skill Shortage of ICT Business Analyst with over 10 years of experience .. @Akinshokun have you gotten ITA, if so medicals and police clearance can be done in a day. Your worry should be getting below documents ahead of time: References on company letterhead - from previous employers. Pay slips. Letters of appointment/promotion. Third party evidence (tax records) to proof your years of experience |

Sircreeden: Same agent has been the one processing my visitors visa since 2014 and now I brought my sa gal to Nigeria and we got married even her new ID has my name... Submitted all necessary documents though...this is taking longer then expected @Sircreeden Relative visa from Lagos takes 8-10 months (by default) to process reason been that DHA need to verify the marriage documents you submitted and some other stuffs. You can scroll through some pages on this thread to read a guy who got married to an SA gal. |

Viquetohr: Please help with sites to do a 'book and pay later' student accommodation in Johannesburg. Thanks. @Viquetohr speak to your supervisor to give a written consent so you can present when submitting your application to embassy. Most student accommodation do not accept 'book and pay later'. You can try Airbnb |

WordFamous: Morning my people. Will be heading to SA next week and I have two questions...
1. Have a 30 day Tourist Visa. I'll be touring different cities and so I'm booking just 5 days first in Pretoria with AirBnB and would book for other cities later. Question: Hope 5 days accommodation receipt is OK to present @ POE?
2. Where's the best place to exchange Naira to Rand? Lagos Airport or Joburg Airport or PTA via bank here in Naija.
Many thanks in advance for your responses You can DM when you get to SA. |
