I am not a good story teller but I will try and put it down anyways .
on the night of Friday the 15th of November my husband came home with pineapple as requested by me , I ate more than half of it not because I was craving for it but because I was just tired of being pregnant. No sooner had I taken than I started feeling funny. I soon started feeling guilty for wanting to trigger labor lol . In my mind I praised people who fell into labor through their own doings , I was like " people can be hard hearted Sha". lol

long story cut short, I started feeling little contractions in the midnight and I couldn't sleep well . In the morning 16th of November , it stopped .
some minutes past 8 in the morning I went out to go and get bread only to be hit by whatever down below while I was coming back. I stopped in my tracks and someone had to go and get my neighbor to help me move . I was helped home and then the pain stopped. In the night of that same day the contractions become regular but I waited little at home hoping I will fall into real labor in the morning.

on the 17th it became stronger so I headed to my midwife's place but she was no where to be found . we went to the hospital where she works still we couldn't find her and by that time I was feeling teeth gnashing pains ! I had to be taken to a government teaching hospital thanks to a good man who advised us to do so . I got there and I had to be wheeled into the checking room . The doctors were few and I had to keep screaming for like 30 minutes before I was attended to . A doctor and some nurses came to ask WHY I WAS SCREAMING SO LOUD , I was asked to lift my cloth and they realized I was in the 2nd or third stage can't remember which stage. Immediately I was asked to stand up and walk to the delivery room . I was half way to the place before I felt a strong urge to push , I stopped and tried to stop the urge before I knew what was happening a very wicked and concerned doctor (lol) drew my hands and dragged me along while I was shouting at him for lacking Human sympathy . I got to the bed and on the first contraction I pushed and baby came out .

I thought that was the end until one of the team told me I had a tear and internal tear. Kai ! I begged for pain relief but they didn't give me . let me not bore you with the gory details but I was stitched on two occasions when the first round of stitch couldn't stop the bleeding.

Alhamdulillah. I came back home with my Baby Girl the next day. Glory be to God

If it's not giving fowl odour, I don't think there's problem.

Put your wash cloth(small towel) in warm water, squeeze dry to heat the navel after bathing. Also use cotton wool and methyl ated spirit to clean as often to keep the navel dry. Then apply whatever you are given in the hospital.

Please don't cover the navel with diaper, the baby cloth is enough to cover the navel.

Don't know about the lower tummy pain but it might be your womb contracting. Is the leg pain, joint pain?

Experienced Mamas pls can you tell why I am having pains on the lower part of my Tommy . I also have pains on both legs , remember I complained about my left leg before I gave birth to my baby and pple said it was as a result of where my child was lying , now she is out why has it not t stopped? thanks it has even proceeded to my second leg. Any remedy too?

Pls help me tnk God ooo.... I gave birth yesterday on the 22nd of NOV.. clock in2 d hospital 8:30.... Was induced by 9pm bcs i was due by a day... N i gave birth 10:32pm to my prince charming looking very handsome tru Vagina delivery n with many tears thou, baby was 3.1kg at 35weeks... Didnt do scan b4 goin in2 labour so i guess e is 3.5kg at 40weeks (chai!!! D stitching no b here lol)

The PHC in my area do pcv, it's between 300 and 500 naira. They do it Where we do scan too

Great! I once used an hospital temporarily during my first pregnancy, blood group wasn't part of the test they do before commencing antenatal. I even asked why its not included but they said no need yet they do pcv every visit . Thank God i already knew am negative then. I carried myself from there as fast as i could. Imagine if I wasn't enlightened

for my first child , I used a hospital in my locality , despite it being a community hospital with no modern facility , they requested for my pcv now I miss the hospital.

Ok mama. Since you have done it before, i think all checks out. In my own case, i did pcv test once a month as requested by my hospital. It is a cheap test that can be done in any lab, should not be more than 1,500.

It is possible they might request for the test towards your delivery date. All is well mama.

Nne, since it appears you are under a midwife’s care, I would suggest you go to a private laboratory and do your PCV, the essence of knowing your pcv especially now that you are due is to know your blood level before delivery because you are bound to loose some blood during delivery. So if your PCV is already low and you loose blood during delivery, it might be a bit risky. So, if you can, check your PCV, depending on the level, you can work it up if need be.

Why is a midwife handling your pregnancy and not a doctor? Haven't you registered for antenatal?

I did register for antenatal in a primary health clinic but I wasn't told to do it.

In my first trimester , I went to make a complaint in a teaching hospital. I did lots of test and I am guessing my pcv would have been checked because the gynea doc said all was fine with my pregnancy.


Maybe I should just do another one .
can it be done in any hospital

my sister, the night vigil is real o . i top up my water every now and then in the night and it increased my visit to the toilet too . I am starting to think baby mistakes night for morning in the womb .lol

pls can I eat garden egg if I can't find the leave . I got white garden eggs , can it do the work?

This e-family is so awesome.... I blessed the lord for the opportunity I have to know this great mamas. As I brought myself here like 2 weeks ago about the low pcv, I was advised here to take garden egg leaf. I did as advice. My pcv increased from 27% to 34%.
