I have over 9 tonnes of yellow maize, dried and well-stored, for sale. Location of the farm is Ilorin. The variety was sourced from IITA, Ibadan and machine-harvested, shelled and dried last year. Topnotch for poultry. You placed an advert without any form of feedback, am interested though |
Noilers are a dual purpose multi coloured birds which are reared for both meat and egg production. They are a hybrid of broiler and cockerels and they attain maturity at 13 weeks with a weight of about 2.6kg for the males and 2.2kg for the females. The females start laying at 5months, laying about 150-200 eggs in a year. The females don't brood their eggs so if you want to hatch them you need an incubator. Noilers are the same as kuroilers or croiler. They were first bred in India by kerb farms, so they named them kuroiler derived from kerbb and broiler. So a Nigerian hatchery decided to also embark on the same project under the name croilers. But after the success of the research they change the name to Noilers. They re not heavy eaters like broilers. The good thing about them is that they have the meat characteristics of broilers and the ruggedness of cockerels, plus they grow very fast and they are scavengers (They can be left to free range) They eat whatever you feed them and they still do well. Actually the broilers and noilers are not comparable as such since broilers attain 2kg in 7-8wks, where as noilers Attain 2.6 kg in 13-16wks depending on how well they're fed. At 7wks the noilers are as big as 7wks broilers only that the broilers are heavier. Another thing is that any bird kept for meat production is termed "Broiler" so the noilers are a tougher and more rugged broilers so to speak but not as fast in growth as the fast growing broilers but faster in growth than the white cockerels. The noilers or kuroiler or croiler initiative was carried out in other to assist those in rural areas to earn a living, especially those in poverty, it was first carried out and sponsored by bill gates in India under kerbb farms, in other to produce a fast growing and resistant variety of bird that will survive under harsh conditions and yet do as good as a commercial broiler with a little effort in terms of feeding and being taken care of. The ugandans and Kenyans have been rearing them for quite some times now, their government shipped them from India. You can research online with the term croiler or kuroiler. Even though the dont grow as fast the commercial broiler atleast the are better than cockerels. Unique Features: Noiler is bred to survive in free range and on kitchen waste and farm by-products to produce good quality meat and egg, hence dual purpose bird with following characteristics: - Hardiness - High resistance to common diseases - Heat tolerance - Low input- feed cost, shelter, labour - Tougher meat than broiler - Nutritional security Benefits: Impact LOW INCOME women and youth at the rural settlements, across the country by; 1. Increasing protein intake of rural children 2. Improve the productivity of chicken in terms of meat and egg production relative to indigenous chicken. 3. Additional income generation for rural women and youth 4. Gender empowerment 5. Food security NOILER is a product of Amo Farm Sieberer Hatchery. It's called *AmoNoiler* AmoNoiler is developed locally by a team of local and international geneticist with intense research and selection that lasted for 9 years International organizations have adjudged this as the purest and best performing dual purpose bird in Nigeria and even Africa. |

Thanks in anticipation You've probably been sometimes fazed by the humongous prices of chicken, turkey and other poultry products and you thought, "if only I could produce it myself"! And some of us who can, are perhaps scared by the ever-increasing feed costs, and you also think, "if only I could make the feeds myself"! But you know what? The chance is here to learn to do it yourself!! DIY Agrokoncept organizes a whatsapp-based seminar which holds from 25th August to 27th August to groom and equip you intensively on poultry production and feed formulation... And the best part is that, you'd be given an excel-based feed formulation app with which you can seamlessly formulate your feeds with no hassle and a comprehensive document on poultry production after the seminar... on request. MadCow1:[quote author=MadCow1 post=58845647]Hi.. So I am kind of new to this section but I have been following it for a while on the low low. Here is my story. So at the close of last year, I decided to take on a new project in Agriculture this year. This project is very large and I have spent the better part of this year focusing on this project. The Project: Setting up a Large Scale integrated farm. Primary Livestock being Poultry for eggs and meat and the primary crop yet to be decided on (ideas for this would be welcome). The end game for me is processing. I intend to be going into the frozen food market for processed meat like frozen chicken, meat, sausages and the works. Progress so far. I have been in training since the start of the year. Main objective of my training is in farm management. Basically how to manage a large scale integrated farm. I have also acquired two pieces of land measuring 100,000sqm and 75,000sqm respectively. Both properties are within looking distance of each other so the management isn't going to be too much of a problem. Biggest Challenge:: Security! Security!! Security!!! I have thought long and hard about how to overcome this challenge and I keep coming up blank.. Fencing both properties will cost in excess of 30 Million Naira.. That isn't something I am willing to do even if I could afford it. The Land is located about 3 - 5km from the nearest populated part of the host town. The 75ksqm land isn't situated directly on the main access road and can't be seen from the road as such cos there is a large property in front of it and surrounded on all sides by bush. The area isn't even remotely developed. Mostly other smaller farms around me. The 100ksqm property is on the main road and would be the operations base of the farm (accommodation, equipement, storage, offices and the works).. Also surrounded by bush So I figure I bring it here to pick the brains of other Nairaland farmers who operate large farms like these and how they have gone about it. Here are some thoughts I am currently playing with: 1. Digging a 6 feet × 6 feet trench right around the farm. 2. Attempting to do a pillar and barbed wire fence. But all I feel somebody will just cut them and take them away in addition to looting my crops. 3. Community engagement.. I will be getting my base workers from the community anyhow, but then they wouldn't be on the farm at night and the inhabited part of the village is a distance from my location. Farm Location: Anambra State ... Opinions are highly welcomed especially from people who operate similar scale farming project or have worked on one. Thanks. You can plant economic trees as fencing materials which on the long run will fetch you good money |
Goodday all, I have an uncle that has a 10 plots in imo state and he wants to plant palm plantation on it. He is asking, can he intercrop dwarf paw paw or plantain on it? What do you suggest? Which would be better for him to intercrop on it? Please I need advises. If their are other alternatives, you can suggest pls. Thanks. 10 plots is way too small or you mean 10 hectares? Anyway, the recommended spacing for oil palm is 9m by 9m, although NIFOR recommend 8.7m by 8.7m giving 140 to 143 oil palm trees per hectare (15plots, 100m by 100m). Inter-crop should be 1.5m, 2.5m and 3.5m away from the palm tree in the first, second and third year(s) respectively. |

Processing the Cassava into Garrison appears to be the general consensus. Any idea how much a 100kg sack of Garri sells for? I'm thinking this would make it easier to work out the price per tonne. Thank you very much @fison. A tonne of cassava will give 250kg of garri which is 2.5 bags. 100kg bag is sold for N22,600 while 50kg is at N11,500. Also, 3 Omolokun is equall to 50kg bag and 1 Omolokun is sold between 3,850 to 4,000. You can also ask in your area. |
My first ever 5 acre Cassava crop is due for harvest in September. The farm is located around Offa in Kwara state. Experienced farmers, please help with advice on how best to handle sale of the harvest? I will advice you process it yourself and sell. Processing into garri pays more than selling it raw . Outright sales of cassava is N127,000 per cabster in my area while processed is N233,800, a tonne of cassava goes for 22,500 and 4 tonnes of cassava gives 1.5 tonnes of processed garri. |
I am located in abeokuta I need dry white corn. I could buy in bags or up to a ton. I have up to 9 tonnes of white maize here in Ekiti State. |
