Abobi where I wan start from naa? Tenaris, or Halliburton? Tenaris tore me in bits in June 2013, from about a hundred or more participants whom made it through their SHL online tests invited for the Assessment Day to about 16 participants who made it to the group session and then a final 8 persons scheduled to be interviewed with the analysts I made it through the same day. I got interviewed and after some weeks, received a congratulatory mail with an invite for the next stage whenever it was eventually scheduled. The next stage entails meeting with the line managers, so it must have meant I had passed the assessment day as the mail narrated but the very disturbing part was I was never scheduled for the second stage interview regardless of a prior communication that actually kept hopes alive, till this point I haven't received any. That really consumed useful time

She should go to her state child welfare, they would direct her to orphanges that are licensed by the state. Ensure you register the child with the state government oo and properly document with the orphanage home, that way the child is safe pending when you've got your life together, then you can go back for your child

So we are done with the traditional HTML, CSS, JavaScript bla bla so what next.
I think this is the hardest stage in the web dev field, I might be wrong though.

I have spent some months learning frontend web development and after completing some pet projects I felt it was time to earn some cash while I still upgrade my skills. But reality swept me off my feet when I dived into some job sites, the requirements for junior web developers was astounding, it seemed I've spent the past months learning just 10% of what is needed for the field.

First I got bounced from upwork(twice) it seems to even register on that platform ma na another programming language, obviously my niche seem saturated coupled with my apparent lack of experience .
Secondly I observed there's more backend and fullstack jobs than frontend jobs and the listings for junior developers are really scarce and few in between .

After feeling frustrated I had to abandon my job search and try adding to my skill set by learning react.
There seems to be so much to learn ranging from automation, APIs, even git cos most job listings requires version control as an important skill. I'm beginning to feel overwhelmed and wondering if I can be able to pull this off.

Please seniors how were you able to land your first job? I stay in a local place and the small business around can barely afford to pay light bills talk more of paying for a website, I'm also not that socially connected. How do I get the all so important experience needed for this field?

After react I plan on moving to php, then laravel before niching down to WordPress development but before then I need to earn to get new courses and pay bills because I know I might spend the rest of the year mastering those skills. Na person wey chop bellefull dey code. My learning has taken a hit because I can't even afford data to access the internet for a while now.

I know I'm not the only one in this situation, seniors please guide us......make una cut soap for us abeg.

Oga why not switch to data science instead. I know the kind of jobs I have gotten which I couldn't take due to my location and other stuff. I started as a web developer but later switched to data analysis.

Same issue here... Been in PH for a while now, somewhere around Tank area. Been applying for a job here since December last year, nothing is forth coming.
I'm also thinking of going to lag to look for job coz most of the job offers I got where from Lagos and was also invited for an interview at Ibadan in a food tech industry, missed the interview though.

My brother that's the problem oo. Portharcourt is living in past glory. Please relocate back. I personally will be moving by God's grace either in May or June.

@op ill advise you to move to Lagos. Forget all those doom talkers here. See let me tell u mine. I presently reside in Portharcourt, but you won't believe that between January this year to now I have done over 20 interviews and gotten over 7 juicy job offers already and Guess what, all this were from companies in Lagos!!! I mean not a single Interview or offer from this shithole called Portharcourt. The problem I have is that I live in a very comfortable house here in portharcourt and I have nobody in Lagos. I do feel so so sad sometimes. I had no choice than to accept the last job offer that came luckily they haven't set up their office yet in Victoria Island(I'm on salary). So I'm using the time now to save so I can get a place in Lagos to stay even if it's one room. Please move!!!

My guy sent the wife packing, I lost my job immediately or let me say I resigned because my boss was too ashamed to face me

My boss dumped the lady I was told by a former colleague.

After about a month, I got another job through
my friend's connect.

Fast forward to 2021, he's been happily married with 2 kids. . .same with me but 3 kids.

Now my friend trusts me even with his last kobo. . .same with me.

Today he owes me his life and unalloyed loyalty.

So I guess it panned out well.

I drove pass this area yesterday and was ashamed to call myself a Lagosian.

Everywhere dirty and stinky.
The rain that fell yesterday exposed the many dark sides of this overhyped mega shitty.

The present and past governors of Lagos have failed woefully in their duties.

I saw people scooping waters out of their shops and houses and saw children walking through dirty waters that ain't good for there health .

Is this the Lagos of our dream?
