1. You do have to go on a college or Uni tour This might be extremely expensive especially if your intended college or Uni is far away but trust me its more than necessary to at least go for a tour. See where you want to go before you pay your tuition fees so you don’t get extremely disappointed. If you can’t go make sure that you know someone that goes to school in the same Uni or lives not too far so you can maybe get unedited real pictures of the school because trust me University and college websites don’t do enough justice. 2. Listen up! Friends will come and Go I know how it feels, the adrenaline rush of being in a new environment and wanting to absorb it all and fit in so quickly. Don’t be so quick to latch unto that girl that you hit it off with during orientation, yes you had a lit conversation and no she’s not qualified to be your friend yet. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying be a loner I know sometimes we all just need that one person we can share food with and bare it all to when school stress gets to us. I don’t think I can stress this enough but if you know you are an emotional person, please don’t be in a hurry to make friends. Chill, watch and observe people, know what ticks them off and know if you can deal with all their flaws or not. Your roommate must not be your Ride or die 85% of the time the friends you make in your first two months of Uni are going to drift away as time passes. 3. MAJOR KEY ALERT!!!!! DO NOT OVERLOOK COMFORT! This is the biggest secret of University life I’m letting you in on. Apartment or Dorm Room? Pick whichever makes you feel more at ease if you even just cringe at the thought of sharing room space with someone you hardly know, you better start sourcing for an apartment as close to your campus as possible. Plus if you get to your dorm room and sense a negative vibe around your roommate, speak to authority immediately. Get a change of rooms and to save cost if you decide to live off campus get a flat so you could split rent when you do get a flat mate and if your flat mate is a messy person you’d better talk It out. Avoid a fight at all cost, remember COMFORT IS KEY. 4. And The Bad? It’s in our human nature to crave attention and even better when it comes your way when you’re looking like shit every morning, trying to get to your classes on time, study for quizzes, get your sleep pattern fixed and have a social life still. Basically trying to... CONTINUE READING HERE... http://thenakedconvos.com/8-things-i-wish-someone-told-uni/ |

Dear diary, Church was awesome today, that idea from Africa Magic flew and people felt the anointing. This ‘evil spirit’ and enemies from my father’s house business is still hot cake after all. I will have to talk to Sis Mercy whose breastfeeding stunts in the fourth row keep distracting me. I guess no one will ever know what inspired 1 Peter 2:2, “Long for the pure milk of the word that you may grow thereby’’ as the topic of bible study for several weeks running. Lately, money from the offering basket has been growing wings. I suspect Bro Isaac, the head usher. Teachers’ salaries have not been paid in months yet every Sunday a new crisp shirt is christened to the glory of God. I refuse to believe that the Lord works in such mysterious ways. A little dose of generational curses from the book of Psalms next Sunday should cure that. The dreaded church board meeting held today. Membership had been dwindling for the past few months and the board is pushing for radical changes. They want messages sprinkled with quotes from John Maxwell, garnished with Richard Templar’s management principles and soaked in Dale Carnegie human management tips. They say it is to attract more young people to the church. Whatever happened to the good old fashioned holiness and CONTINUE READING HERE.. http://thenakedconvos.com/pastors-diary/ |

What Can You Do With One Million Naira? Read This... http://thenakedconvos.com/what-can-you-do-with-a-million-naira/ |
How I Became An Ashawo In Lagos Two or three months after I first came to Lagos, I had a long tiring day in the office and all my thoughts were on my warm bed at home. It had rained during the day and everywhere was rowdy and wet. On my way home, traders had taken over a huge chunk of the road, so we all had to squeeze past the other side. There was a middle aged man in front of me who I remember wore Ankara and was dragging his feet. He stopped at almost every tray to price bananas, or garden eggs, or corn, or pear. There was space in front of him, so I thought I should ask him to move a little so I could pass while he went about his shopping. I tapped him small. “Please excuse me,” I said, pointing to the space in front of him. He just flared up. “Can’t you see I’m buying something? Can you not wait? What is wrong with children of nowadays? Where are you even rushing to?” Man, I was just blinking. The girl by Continue Reading... http://thenakedconvos.com/i-became-ashawo-lagos/ |
