Then it will depend on how long it takes to process and receive your visa, book tickets and travel.
Better to get a letter from your school allowing you to join slightly late.

How about applying two weeks to start date using the standard priority application? My 28days count will end on the 7th of September and start date is 26th of september. I intend applying for visa and tb test between 12th and 16th. If i apply for priority visa application, hope i don't stand a chance of being denied bearing in mind start date which is 26th.

Look for added value service click on it, it takes you to priority page then choose the one applicable to you# standard priority 150pounds, add it to your cart list. Open cart and pay with your card. The portal will inform you of your payment is successful, print your receipt and you're good to go.

For those who are thinking of using the priority option, Sirbantu has made it very easy for us to understand.

Go to your bank with a copy of visa and air ticket and ask for PTA personal travel allowance. The maximum you can collect is 4000 USD or equivalent per quarter. Better rates than BDC or mallam

Its difficult to get these days and it takes a long time though and many banks insist ur ticket must be a two way ticket

you do not need a visa to stop over at dubai. you are not going past the airport and if u chose to, u can get a visa there at dubai
you can travel with as much money as u wanna but declare when the need arises
you can check the luggage capacity om the itinerary or u call emirates to find out
you can go with food stuffs but ensure its in a ziplock bqg.. egusi, ogbono, crayfish,.. etc.. u can get naija food at fenham in newcastle or somewhere close to the general hospital. there r loads of african and indian shops there... rice can be gotten at tesco.. tomatoes also
its cheaper to get a fone... with navigation also.. cuz its highly needed..

With the daily and monthly cummulative limits place on atm and pos withdrawals i doubt if he can withdraw that much through atm. last i tried with my uba i could only withdraw a max of 50pounds a day. sending moneygram and western union from nigerian banks has also been placed on hold by most banks. Yeah you are right but how then do these people expect us to cope with all these? The whole thing is annoying and frustrating. They expect us to make us of BDCs. Even the PTA thing isn't working the way it ought to.

My travel transcript! First of all i just want to say Thank you Jesus for seeing me through the journey. My head don clear now and my body dey alright now so I can type.
My flight was an evening flight, holly molly I was excited when I realized it wasnt a full flight. I had the luxury of not having a seat partner, so I utilized the extra space to make a good couch. I used Turkish Air and I'd give them an 8/10 & Ataturk intl airport a 10/10. The food was great (served once on LOS-IST, and thrice on IST-JFk (10hrs journey), the chicken is tasttyyy (boneless), the thing resemble fried egg, the entertainment system was awesome (though they had a playlist of unknown songs and artists). We got to Istanbul at about 6.05am, a shuttle bus came to pick and drop at the terminal. We passed through a custom search that lasted 2-3 mins and then had to sit and enjoy the the 8hrs layover.I am a flight and airline enthusiast, I spend a chunk of my free time reading through airport reviews and travellers experiences. Ataturk is a global hub. Actually the best airport in the world for me. There are tons of people flying to virtually everywhere in the world. I met Nigerian guys going to Bangladesh, Paris, Houston etc. Flight information is simple but airport is BIG. Stores and malls there are very eye catching. I chilled on Starbucks sipping coffee. I spent some 5mins searching for free-wifi before I broke the jinx. I finally connected to one and I had to share the trick to other travellers and instantly we hit off. I met an Indonesian guy (I helped him connect to the wifi) and we chatted for 4hrs talking soccer. he was telling me how beautiful Indonesia beaches are esp Bali, complimented Nigerian soccer team and talked about his academic plans. we exchanged snapchat IDs and I wished him well on his study trip to Amsterdam. On the 2nd leg to JFk, I was in the middle of a 3 seating position, A Saudi guy and a Turkish mom. the Saudi guy kept smelling of garlic and in my mind I was literally going nuts. then again, wifi got us talking, the aircraft was wifi enabled but crazy pricing (24hrs for $19.9, 1 hr for $7.9 ) well the Saudi guy didnt mind and was ready to pay, he couldn't because his card didnt work. we talked and it happened he was going to an engineering college in new york. Nice guy but that garlic smell put me off. We landed at JFk around 6pm, the queue was longggggg!. my uncle even called thinking they held me up because of the food items I was carrying. on the customs form I declared everything including grounded bitterleaf, egusi, akam (pap), etc

Here was my interaction with the CBP officer:
CBP: did you leave from Nigeria or from turkey?
me: the flight was from Lagos, then we had a stopver at Istanbul then we got here.
CBP: Are you coming with this visa for study (I had an expired B1 on my passport)
Me: 0h yeah its for study actually. I was here in New York to visit some years ago and I had a great time.
CBP: sounds good
CBP: place your hands on the scanner. I did
CBP: what food items did you carry
Me: ogbono,egusi, bitterleaf
CBP: you declared all? Me: yes I did, even all the cash with me
CBP: OK then you can go! goodluck with your studies welcome!

so I headed to customs and I was singled out apparently because of the bitterleaf, they only collected the form and asked me again what I carried, I told them. I was getting ready to open my bags, the lady then said I could go, that they were not searching my bags. so all my food items passed through, I made sure I declared the bitterleaf cuz if I had lied, then I would have been in trouble.

I got out nd took a yellow cab to brooklyn. New york nice city! really missed there! I got up around 4am to rush for my connecting flight to MN. Smooth check-in , paid the baggage fee and off we went to MN. Local flights here is urggghh!. If you are not worried about time pls do bus. I picked a window seat (online checkin) and the views from up on Minnesota is litt. green state! enough vegetation. real nice. We landed around 9.05am, Minneapolis.

I just did a mini tour of my sch and got some Mexican food for $7.60. really really nice. I definitely wont be doing Mcdees or wendys during my time here and I'll advise folks too. Pepsi,fanta etc is literally free and damn, fries is bou $1.5, burgers are $3. I mean in a week you gonna fatten up. Nahh not for me.

one thing I'll advise prospective applicants is DONT GIVE UP. when I started this journey, I had alot of doubters saying i wont get admission not to talk of funding. Believe in your dreams! The shortcut route is not the best. One thing I have noticed is enjoyment full America, dont get swallowed up in all of it. remember where you are coming from and the expectations of the family you are leaving behind in Nigeria and also your future, all this is my focus and my watchword! For online payment. Since u will be using ur atm card to pay,dey wl charge based on the bank's atm rate. So for stanbic, as at today its 350 to a dollar. That's what I meant. You can do your TB test this period. I don't really know if one can pay cash for visa application

Well it depends on the card u use. As at today,stanbic charged 350. So it depends. I wl advice u to do ur tb test now dat u r free so dat by den u jst do ur interview. Interview is just one day. Am far away, would hv done my tb test den wait for just interview.

So far, I have paid half of my sch fees by transferring Naira to sm1 in d UK's Nigerian GTB Account. He den exchanges ds Naira in d UK for N507 to £1. I dont really know hw he does it or if GTBank charges him transaction expenses. Dis method ws only recommended to me. I just hope am nt being cheated.

I didnt use Form A cos i felt it will waste time as I am applying for visa now. After my visa, i think I cn calm down and pay d remaining tuition tru Form A. I heard it offers a cheaper rate dan blak market. Is ds true?

Can my living exp also be sent to me using form A. Please what method do u guys use to receive payment? Or what do u recomnend I do?

That young man cheated you big time. Why didnt u send money to someone in the UK via moneygram or western union? Living expenses cannot be sent tru form A. You will have to withdraw with ur mastercard at the bank atm rate. As at today stanbic rate is 469 if u withdraw with their atm debit card. na waaa..dat guy has really cheated u oooo.. he couldnt even charge 500

I believe with this few points of mine, I have convinced or rather confused you that your visa will be issued straight up. Mmtttccchheewww. Good morning people...please...it may seem a stupid question...but am really confused..2.5m was paid into my Sis account and d 28 days ends on Friday...now we r hearing form d same agent Dt said d 2.5 will go that it won't work now....bcus dad just recently spent a huge amount of money in his last trip hence no amount which will reflect in his account...she's now forced to use an uncles biz account which has over 30m for 2 months intact...now the problem is that we bear separate surname with this uncle. .please what do u think we should do...she's meant to resume Sept 14....really confused...

If your uncle is willing to help, let him transfer the need money into your sister's account or your dad's account and leave it there for another 28days. Please also put extra cos of the fluctuation in exchange rate. If possible you put extra 500k or 300k. I don't think its necessary using agents. These are things you can do singlehandedly. Since resumption day is Sept 14, it will mean you have to pay for priority.

Atleast you should do your search first, then if you get to a point you need key assistance den you can come here and get some info. naa waaooo.. Nobody be agent here, if you continue this way u will get urself entangled with one agent who will rip u of ur hard earned money
