Guys! Nwaneri was my GOAT today.
The last time a 17 year old impressed me was Lionel Messi.
This guy has a bright future ahead of him. I just pray he is level headed and focused like Bukayo Saka.
I also expect that when the star boy is back, Ethan should move to the CF position. |

BlueRayDick: When u see players recycling the ball very close to the dugout and the coach is yelling at them to play forward pass, u don't need a soothsayer to tell u they are executing the coach's instructions to his satisfaction.
If West Brom that was perennial relegation time can overturn 3 goal decifit against an Alex Ferguson team, what makes u think that Man city the reigning champion cannot do the same against an Arsenal team that couldn't hold a goal advantage for a minute as at the last time of both teams meeting?
The game may be dusted to u, but the professional players on the pitch and their coach knows it is not. If a younger player doesn't , he will learn sooner or later. The game was done and dusted. You can’t compare the West brom game with the Man City game. I gave you reasons why. And yes, recycling the ball is not only to avoid a comeback, it could also be to kill away time and conserve energy as was the case in that match. If it were otherwise, Man City would have pressed us and forced us to our own half, but we literally spend the whole time in their own half, exchanging passes while they stood and watch us. Heck, even Martinelli was using style to pass to Gabriel. 😂 Man City were psychologically defeated? Was there at any point after the fourth goal, you thought Man City could come back into the game? Talk true. 😂 |

germaphobe: In recent years, we have struggled to win against Newcastle, their defensive block and aggressive midfield have always been a problem for us. I'm just wishing we pull through, but the hope is very slim, so is our chance and odd. Omo! You are right. But just like Odumodu said, if they can beat us 2 nil on our ground, we can beat them 3 nil on their own ground too. Psychologically, we are in a good head space, you know, overcoming that Mental Block of overcoming Man City. I think that can give us extra confidence. I really hope we win it sha. |

BlueRayDick: I have watched EPL long enough to know the scores can be overturned . During the days of Van Persie at Man utd , I think it was 2013 or there abouts; West Brom Man Utd’s 5-2 lead to end the match 5-5.
If west brom can overturn a 3 goal deficit , who told u a dead but not out man city led by Guardiola can’t do same if we don’t apply caution ?
Coach wey tell the players to Dey recycle pass between midfield and our defence is not a dunce . Firstly, how are we sure it was the coach that instructed them to recycle the passes and Ethan wasn’t aware of the new instructions? Mind you, players normally take the initiative themselves almost all the time, especially when it’s just a 1 goal difference and not more than 2 goals as it was the case in this match? Secondly; pertaining to that Man U match, the last goal by Man United was scored in the 63rd minute, meaning Westbrom had over 30 minutes to overcome the 3 goal lead as against Man City that had 10 minute? The game was done and dusted, that’s it. And Ethan was right to be hungry for the ball. |

BlueRayDick: So a team named man city cannot overturn a 3 goal deficit when u still have 10 minutes and added time to go ?
Dey play ! The coach that asked them to keep the ball for as long as possible knows what he is doing. Recycling the ball between defenders and midfielders is safer than passing to an attacker who may overturn possession while trying to force a dribble . Again, I emphasize that the 36 passes started at the 90th minute with Ethan Scoring at the 92 or 93rd minute. So yeah, 10 minutes or not, Man City could never overturn that lead specifically in that game. It was done and dusted. |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: The Red & White Army: 2025/2026 EPL Champions! by Fkforyou(m): 9:01pm On Feb 04, 2025 |
BlueRayDick: So because he came in at the 80th minute they must pass to him and if he overturns the ball to the opponent while trying to dribble the whole team must go under pressure ?
Did u not see how we held on to 2-1 lead in the first leg only for us to concede at the last minute ? The defenders exchanging passes is a right decision which the coach obviously sanctioned cos that’s the only way to draw city out of possession and facilitate us lobbing a pass that will catch them unawares . That’s exactly what happened when Rice eventually played the pass to him.
A young player like him that wants to succeed at a top club must learn to be patient and play to coach’s instructions like senior players are doing . I don’t understand? A poor Man city side to overturn a 4-1 lead at the 90th minute when they had already given up? There was no way we would have come under pressure during that time. Come on, man. That goal came in 92nd minute. Like I said, baba was hungry for the ball. It’s not that deep, neither was it for his personal glory. He wants to improve, he has passion and desire. |

BlueRayDick: If that’s how he truly feels , then he’s not ready to succeed at Arsenal . We are leading at 4-1 , we are in total control of the of the game and trying to ensure we contain city till the end of the match ; he has no reason to be looking for personal glory but for the success of the team .
It was obvious Gabriel and Saliba were trading passes just so we can retain possession and prevent overturning of the ball to city lest they counter us and get back in the game . Baba only came in, at the 80th minutes, cut him some slack for being hungry for the ball. By the way, the pass from Rice was a beauty to behold and the way he finished just made it more sweeter. |
