I went back to arsenal archives to see how arteta was compared to xhaka...

....guess what, they were basically the same player only that arteta was surrounded with high technical players like carzola and rosicky meanwhile xhaka is surrounded with young kids with little experience and experience players that are not good at all.

the biggest culprits in our midfield is Granit Xhaka. His speed means that he is a liability when defending counter attack.
His frequent back passess means we can't kill any team in counter attack.
He has zero presence in the midfield, which means his midfield partner will be doing all the work in the midfield against 3 to 5 opposition players in that midfield.

No wonder partey keep getting injured everytime, partey will be doing all the work while xhaka will do notting all match. Same thing happened today, lokonja was the only arsenal player that ran the midfield meanwhile his partner was no where to be found


No wonder wenger struggled to qualify for top4 as soon as xhaka came to the team

Let Pepe get his own first team by merit and not through age factor

Despite the volume, I went through the argument. I must also commend you all for been civil.

IMO, defence will win you a cup maybe but attack will win you a league. The more your attacking threats, the more your opponents will be scared of you. But if a team build the defence while the attack (and midfield-as applicable to arsenal) is blunt, sooner or later, the defence will crack. Having a balanced team is good but attack is the first line of defence.

Did you know that Arsenal didn't not concede a goal through out the knockout stages of that CL run and just two goals in total (first two games)? These were games against Real Madrid, Juventus and Villareal. Even in that finals, we were down to 10men few minutes after kickof, yet Campbell rose to head us into a 1-0 lead which was held by the defense till few minutes to the end of the match?

This was my argument, when i said sorting midfield and attack will run off on the defense positively. But some felt Arteta knows best.
We had Mustaffi and Luiz but we mad Europa, after splashing on DM and CB we finished 8th.

Last season they were claiming Arteta didn’t prioritize defense, what has his actions this current TW shown.

I keep saying the difference is maybe I predict too soon what others are yet to see. It was visible to the blind sef.

Barcelona has a fairly good defense. With Pique, Dest and Alba. Besides can they win the league despite continuing to concede 2goals per game while hoping the attack will bail them out? Not realistic.

Stop confusing yourself, both attack and defense are needed. Attack will ensure you win games like this, but it's the defense that will ensure you will the title at the long run.
