I think the Arsenal board were on point with the purchase of Gabriel last season but not White and Ramsdale or the other defenders they've bought.

I think what Arsenal needs now is to get back into the UCL proper and a good attack and midfield can deliver that but to win trophies which should be a long term goal for Arsenal at the moment, they will need to improve on their defense...

With a good attack and midfield, you can win games against the weaker teams and possibly snatch a point or a win against the big guns and that should be enough to guarantee a top 4 finish for a couple of seasons before the issues surrounding the defense is fully addressed.

I don't think Saka, ESR, Martinelli, Lokonga, Nketiah and the likes should be the go-to men for a team like Arsenal as they are way too young to shoulder such heavy responsibilities...After the signing of Gabriel, more funds should have been channeled to improve the attack and midfield whilst they paper over the cracks in defense with bargain buys.

Lastly, one of Auba or Lacazette should have been or rather should be moved on for a younger and more prolific forward...

An ambitious club thinking in the right direction would have splahed everything on Madison, Swap in Coutinho and bring in Draxler for free. I believe these are men who can take Arsenal further up.

Not just more attackers, but quality attackers. Only Saka looks OkAY( not world class yet IMO) others appear average and too weak, lazy and boring.
My opinion has always been a very strong attack can take you far up. But generally, Arsenal do not have such exciting players.

You guys are actually missing the point.

What is an Arsenal fan's business with whether defense or attack wins titles when you are so far from the conversation. That is just an exercise in football theory and does not have any immediate practical utility.

The questions should be which of your players are good enough to be wearing the shirt of a top or ambitious club like Arsenal?
Where is the weakness in your team? Where do you need to improve?

To answer those questions you should go to the threads of Liverpool, Man City (if they have any fans), Man Utd, Chelshit, or even Bayern and ask them to pick the 3-5 players in your squad that they would accept into their squad if forced to.

Let's see how many of your defenders will make the list, and how many of your midfielders, or attackers will make it. You guys are parading bottom half defenders and expecting top half outcomes.

This I 100% agree, the reason I opined here sometimes that Arsenal's bench players can't make first 11 of those mid and low tabled teams.
As much as we criticize Arterta, I won't be blind to the fact that 85% of these players are not good enough for a FC like Arsenal. Most of them are just too basic and the youngsters we rate are either just there or still growing.
I remember during the days of Carzola, despite playing alongside average players, he always standout, take away Tierney,Saka and 2/3 more players in this squad, the rest aew not up to my standard.

Sergier Aurier is interested in joining Arsenal as he wishes to remain in London after leaving Tottenham.

Yesterday where I was watching the match with my bottle of odeku, that was how one bros told me Xhaka is the main man at arsenal, he said he's our engine room.

Initially I thought he was trolling or something, I told him to come off it and stop joking around Jàre. Then I saw he was serious when he accused me of just liking Xhaka. He said he's been watching me since the game started and he noticed how I've been very critical of Xhaka shortly after kick off.

To say I was bewildered was an understatement. I tried making him see how static Xhaka is, how he will receive the ball in a position to push further upfield, but Xhaka would only return the ball back to our non-ball-playing defenders. This bros no gree. He said I should just take my time watch Xhaka and remove the bias from my mind,......He said I will see the reason why 3 coaches have chosen to build the game around him.

Fast forward to 7 minutes later Xhaka made his trademark Lunging tackle and got red card I look bros say how far? Ẹ̀gbọ́n say blood dey rush enter Xhaka head sometimes

I used to think it's one we see people stanning rubbish players, yesterday I know there are people like that offline too.

There's one thing about Xhaka that makes him look like he is the main engine of the team, The way he carries himself, his looks, with his finger pointing and leadership aura, coupled with how he gets the ball and launch a long pass to the flanks, you'll just want to have that body on the field.

But those who critically analyse football will know he's a just a scam/fraudster. When I see fans on Arsenal page on Instagram and other platforms hailing him, I just SMH.

Torreira don't want to stay. Partey is still unavailable. Nothing wey dat attack fit do even if we sign dem with unmotivated torreira and unavailable partey. Maddison go still losss for match and the front go disappear.

Arterta made it so for Torreira, he was playing Elneny,Willock and Xhaka ahead of him, He was injured for a long time and Artrta relegated him to the bench, and that affected his game..

I haven't forgotten how Torreira under Emery was already a hero being praised and sang for at the Emirates. A good coach would have wooed him to his side, Arterta to me made him lose his MIMD here( Arterta is either bad at or lack the man management skill)

Partey will come back and with a good midfielders around him, his work load will reduce and he sure will perform better.

I have seen Madison and Fekir at the AM singlehandedly destroy opposition with their movement,take one, killer passes, winning fouls and beautiful curlings and shots.

With A Coutinho/Draxler at the LW, opposition will still feel the heat.

Yes Arsenal wouldn't go unbeaten with those players, but I'm sure they are massive upgrades who won't start the season with Zero goals, points and embarssing results.

The funny thing is Arsenal will win the relegation cracker coming up next and you'll see some fans feeling enthusiastic and trusting the whole process.

For rival fans to rate small Guendozi ahead of bloody Xhaka in 2017/2018 is an eye opener to see how declined that midfield has became.

A reasonable coach would have retiained Torreira,
Imagine Partey and Torreira sitting at the base with Lokonga and Guen coming off the bench, the splash money on either of Madison and Fekir. I would even take Draxler for free, or swap Auba with Coutinho.
