Signing Pepe would be one hell of a coup by Raul Sanllehi and his team. Pepe led his Lille team to a 2nd position last season.

In my opinion, Pepe is better than Zaha and Everton Soares and this is because he is, first of all, a team player with incredible humility. He is quite powerful, endowed with trickery and speed to beat any situation. He helps out his team on defense and is deadly on counter-attacks because of his on-ball speed, intelligence and ability to create for others.

While Zaha is proven in the EPL and no scrub, he has the propensity to pout and throw tantrums when things are not going his way and to me, this is not what we need in the locker room especially since we don't have a leader at this time. Zaha's disruptiveness will divide the team and kill morale especially when results are not going our way. The mentality of this team is still very weak and that will not change considering the core of the "senior kpangolos" are still with us. There is nothing Zaha can do that Pepe can not do even better in my opinion, irrespective of the fact that he is coming from the French Ligue.

Many have forgotten that there was a time the core of our team was built with players from the French League. The French League is renowned for producing exciting young talents who transition into other leagues seamlessly in comparison to players from other leagues.

Maybe I agree on Soares, but I don't think we need Malcolm. He hardly beats his Man or stretch defences. There's a reason we're not in for him even as barca gave us a leeway and I understand with it. I don't see someone like Malcolm will improve our wing issues

Ability to beat your man with trickery, Pace and power is all we need, Fraser does much of running and crossing, Target man like Giroud would benefit from him not Auba and laca who like it on the ground.

I feel I understand what fkhalifa is saying here. Having a winger like zaha won't make us only threatening but will improve our forwards chances drastically (I pray we've two like that on opposite wings). Zaha is fast, dribbles and score more than anyone in our team to play such a position. Also, saying Zaha is 27yrs old and still in palace is unfair (my opinion tho). Van dijk was 27yrs old even while at Southampton, yet Liverpool bought him for a record fee. Also saying he's worth £35m in this current market is a bit miserly if you ask me.
We should also remember salah was a flop at Chelsea, same as kdb, yet they're kings at their respective clubs. I feel if Emery wants zaha as his option, we should buy him, and not be thinking about resale value. Now we're thinking of how to get back to the top, and not how to sell someone in 2-3yrs time. We need to support emery to succeed and if it's zaha he wants, I feel we should go all out on him(who knows, he might pull off a salah for us). Also, afcon or copa is never a place to rate players.

I like us to get Soares and anyone of them would be fine by me, I just don't like it when Zaha is being underated, he might not be £80m, but definitely around £60,

players like Rodri,Ndombele,Felix, do they have shiny stats to have worth such prices? Zaha is a winger, he will help us break teams packing bus,defenders bullying us,win fouls,( card) and penalties..

Sky sports are not stewpid to bring those stats,they showed some important parts of the game aside goals and assist

Moreover, he has Auba and laca,they will convert his chances better than benteke and Batshuayi, he's got Bellerin,Ozil,iwobi,Tierney, Ceballos to create for him...

He's hasn't played at high stage,he will be motivated,he will relish playing in Europa and UCL,he has everything to fight for, he's not coming an over achiever from Juve or Madrid.. He's gon fight and learn more..

He's 26, he can do it for 5 years, I'll rather enjoy that than relying on average players or kids or loanees who won't still cut it after many years..

Even if he fails here, he's not the most expensive, pogba,lukaku and Fred's fee never win UCL or league so no biggy.

Truth be told I think Fkhalifa likes zaha personally, and I think there's no problem in that.

But arsenal buying Zaha at all cost despite having a soares at a cheaper price and letting him slip is not what arsenal should do. Zaha has had a stint at man utd that didn't turn out good. He's playing for a club like palace and and isn't doing as much as Frasier did last year for Bournemouth. Maybe he is key to palace's "success" which is why they price him that high, but there's no guarantee he won't be a bad investment especially when he is fast approaching the peak age for footballers which means selling him high might be an impossible task in the future.

If we can get soares without losing any of our promising youngsters and even paying lesser, then that's cool.

Somebody said with 3 of Kolasinac,chambers,jekinson Sokratis and mustafi starting at the back, we are already 1-0 down in any game..
And with Kola bumping forward and ozil and Xhaka's pace in the middle, its 2-0.. ..

Laca is a firminho kind of striker, he isn't the 30 goals a season striker, imagine him being flanked by goal scoring wingers and AM, the whole front line will be dynamic with goals and assists coming from different angles.

..... Bro, it is very important that Arsenal signs a winger even if it's just one. We had no play pattern last season because we do not have the players to carry out what the Coach wants. Emery plays 4-3-3 or 4-3-2-1 formation with deadly wingers on both sides of the pitch and a hard-working number 10 pulling the strings. The only person that can play on the wings is not a natural winger and we all know Auba is not either even though he tried last season.

.... The lack of wingers forced Emery to play 3-5-2 with the full back overlapping to do the work of a winger but that left the midfield completely open as one of the double pivot moves in to cover for the overlapping fullback if we did not want a simple looping ball to kill us. The open midfield was what Chelsea used to finish us at the finals last season. So, the formation works well for cutbacks for strikers to score but leaves space left by the fullback wide open for a looping ball and if one of the midfielders leave to cover that space, the midfield becomes wide open. It's the reason we leaked a lot of goals last season because of the pressure on the defense from the open midfield.

...So a decent Left back will allow us return to a back four and a tricky winger will put other teams on the defense, reducing the pressure on our defense and our midfield will stay in shape. This is why we have been chasing Tierney and tricky wingers this summer, they are the top priorities for us next season. Wingers are the reason Liverpool and Mancity are the most dreaded teams in world football right now. No one is stupid enough to go all attack mode on them because of their wingers, their midfield retains their shape and in turn there is little pressure on their defense hence why both teams had the lowest number of goals conceded Last season. So, yes wingers are extremely important.

Opposition loop ball into either of their pacy wingers, they've got space to run to, you see 4 against 3 defenders and gbam we get punished.

See how Ndidi/Etebo made our defenders looked so good, Musa and chuwkwueze made Awaziem and Ola Aina/ Collins look organized, they don't bump forward anyhow, they focus majorly on defence before anything else..


Man city and Liverpool's have got wingers who won't allow you attack them anyhow, you attack, they kill you on the counter, you pack bus, they concede none or little.

Whatever we do, now or in the future, we can not allow Saka to leave this team. The kid is a baller and I know Emery sees what everyone sees in the kid. Promote him to the first team already and find ways to get him games. I love what I saw in Martinelli, he is a good passer and has a lot of energy. I have said it before that I would rather we play a mix of these young hungry and committed guns and finish outside the top 4/6 than those complacent and entitled players and still finish outside the top 4.

Baba, Martineli, Saka,Olayinka et al equals £120 in 3/4 years time for kroenke and those concerned.
