steelie: for those about to write the toefl exam, I would suggest you get the Mcgraw-Hill(ETS) Toefl textbook with sample test cd...I studied with it for approximately 11days and I scored 104..Do not depend solely on materials and tutorials you get online...just follow the procedures of ETS in the textbook if you want to attain a good score.

Fellow nlanders if u have not registered for toefl u better now most deadline for schools is july 15th . The xams no be gre or gmath o do it now so u won't@ come back later on d same issue e no hrd if u sabi read , speak englisch and a patient reader
For ug most schools won't waive it for you even the ones that waive are partly german so if ppl wey won go do masters no gree write toefl u wey dey go ug no try am make yanga with them o

An independent essay writing - you read about a familiar topic and writing about it

2 you listen to a topic read about it too them compare both and summarize points u read and heard

Its 50 mins and its not writing but you will be typing using the keyboard no big deal

topeajis: I joined the thread sometime around dec I did toefl scored 80 and. Applied to 3 shools under uni assit and one outside two from uniassit gave me. And the other outsiide didn't give me cos ma transcipt got their late. I opened my account with the first admission letterr I got and applied for visa with a diff admisiion letter just went to the embassy today and pick up my visa. Its 90days and am flying tonight. Actually it varies from school to school but with ur Gp u will definitely get a school to do masters in Engineering . So go to www.daad.de find a school Contact them via email or call and u will get a confirmation

If you are talking of Msc then the entrnce grade is ur university final Gp they will convert it to german grading system so ur higher entrance Cert is ur BSC cert but if you are talking of BSC then the entrance grade is based on A'levels or equivalent aCcording to the "abitur"
It has nothing to do with your O'levls

Why don't you swear an affidavit and police report attached to ur photocopied waec that is the formal proceedure for any missing doc.That will do the schools ur sending ur result for admission doesn't need original only notarized photocopy of d document and they use scratch card to verify in the embassy

Yes tope is right but in the west they speak english and you can work there and study make money but in d northern part they speak German. Generally there r availability of jobs but if you understand basically the lang u hve an edge ..
