jnyuwa02: A near miss I will call it in the history of near misses. CIC reserves the right to approve your kids even without medicals. I would advice in the fulfillment of all righteousness, to follow through with the medical exam request. Even though they end up stamping your passport with a visa without a medical report ( which I think most likely would be the case), knowledge gained on the medical wellness of your kids is still pretty potent information for your personal use and future use. Bro, I want to know if I can talk to you on another platform - email or phone. Kindly let me know if it is something that works for you. |

joe10: I do not think it is necessary for you to submit your SOA if your sponsor has sufficient fund and you are submitting his SOA. But, you can submit your SOA/pay slip to reveal your monthly pay if you have work experience or still working just to boost your claim.
I hope this helps. Thanks for letting me have an answer! |

Mbaku86: If you are in a hurry i will advise you not to do it in Abuja Clinic. For some reason (known to them) they delay in sending their reports. I used them when Medicals were requested by CIC and it took them two weeks to send my report. Moreso, they are the most expensive out of all the Accredited Hospitals authorized by CIC. It costs 48,000 Naira to conduct your medicals at Abuja Clinic. The other alternative is IOM, some Nairalanders have given decent reviews of the clinic. Bro, I'm yet to apply for visa but going through the posts here I'm at lost what 'medicals' am I to do? I have a health fitness certificate from FMC in Enugu, isn't it enough? Or is their a particular kind of medical test that is required. Thanks for your anticipated reply. |

jnyuwa02: You call 10 weeks ungodly? Last fall at this time it was 22 weeks. That must be the zenith of ungodliness in your dictionary. At any length, to apply in Ghana or South Africa you must have residency, student status or citizenship there. Otherwise you would be rejected based on status in country of application, meaning you would have spent enormously to travel there, only to be returned to square one. If you have the stated status in those countries, as said, you still have to appear physically to apply there. Best wishes.
Ps: I will advice you apply in Nigeria. Even those with legal residency applying abroad are subjected to very lengthy processing time because of their unique status in those countries. They have to verify stuffs. I had a guy from Denmark call me up two days ago who is resident there, complaining he has been subjected to much more longer processing time than ordinarily Danish citizens applying in that country. Thanks so much! I will be needing my passport to make an Italian visa application sometime in Sept, all the same I appreciate your response. |

Ben266: I think to address your question you would need to confirm if you are a citizen or if you possess work or study permit in the countries you have mentioned. From what I have read on this platform, you can apply from another country if you reside there as either a student or if you have work permit. If you do not fall under the aforementioned category, you would not be able to apply from the locations you have mentioned.
Secondly, i am aware that there are only two ways to apply for study permit online and submitting your documents physically. You can google the location of the Canadian high commission/embassy to locate their offices in Ghana and South Africa, following which you would be expected to physically submit your application. Note that for physical application, your biometrics will be taken immediately as that is a prerequisite for the visa application.
I hope this helps and i trust that others with more information will share same with you. In the absence of all else, you can google the information yo require and see if you would find anything useful.
All the best. Thanks for your help! |

Can anyone rescue me by telling me the processes involved in submitting my visa application in Ghana or South Africa and the time duration these destinations take in processing visa applications. Also can I submit my application in these locations by DHL? or do I need to physically submit the Application my self.
I just want to submit (visa application) there because of the ungodly time it takes to process ones visa application here in Nigeria. |

But he can't fund me and I intend funding myself but the school requires that students not funded by Professors should secure a scholarship in their home country as they (sfu) don't accept self funding. What can I do as I really want to work with man and the tuition of the school is very cheap. The Professor has already asked me to ask the Dean of Grad studies for a way around it but I also want to know your opinions please. Thanks Is it for MSc or PHD? |

Politics › Breaking - America Jails Three Nigerian Scammers For 235-years!!! by Fleshly(op): 3:24pm On May 27, 2017 |
Three Nigerian scammers who befriended many of their victims on dating sites have been slammed huge prison sentences by a Mississippi court after making tens of millions of dollars from their schemes. Oladimeji Seun Ayelotan, 30, was sentenced to 95 years in prison; Rasaq Aderoju Raheem, 31, was given 115 years and Femi Alexander Mewase, 45, got 25 years behind bars, according to a report by https://www.infosecurity-magazine.comA court in the Southern District of Mississippi had in February found them all guilty of crimes including mail fraud, wire fraud, identity theft, credit card fraud and theft of government property. Ayelotan and Raheem were also found guilty of conspiracies to commit bank fraud and money laundering. Dating back to at least 2001, the scammers were involved in multiple internet fraud schemes, resulting in losses in the tens of millions, according to the Department of Justice. It claimed that they would befriend women on dating sites, establish a romantic relationship and then either get them to send money or have them participate in fraud schemes, usually without the victim’s knowledge. The unsuspecting women would sometimes be required to cash counterfeit checks and money orders; use stolen credit card details to purchase goods; and use stolen personal information to take over victims’ bank accounts. They were also apparently used to launder money via Western Union and MoneyGram, and re-package and re-ship goods obtained fraudulently. A whopping 21 defendants have already been charged in this ongoing case, 12 of whom have pleaded guilty to charges involving conspiracy and 11 of whom have been sentenced. The three Nigerians were among the six extradited from South Africa by US Department of Justice in 2015 to face charges of running a series of scams against gullible Americans over the past 16 years. Fourteen others resident in the US were also arrested to face trial in Gulfport, Mississippi on nine federal charges, including conspiracy to commit identity theft, wire fraud, bank fraud, theft of US government funds, and conspiracy to commit money laundering. The indictment states that since 2001 the accused, were part of a string of scams against Americans, facilitated by internet communications. These include the longstanding 419 scheme, whereby a massive windfall is promised once a small number of payments have been provided, but the DoJ claims it went much further than that. The team was also accused of running romance stings to bilk the lonely of funds, shipping fraud, running fake work-from-home businesses, check fraud, and plain-old hijacking of other people’s bank accounts and credit cards to divert funds. Global fraud continues to grow thanks to the internet and an increase in the use of both anonymizing technology and bots designed to mimic human behavior. ThreatMetrix, which analyzes 20 billion annual transactions, blocked 130 million fraud attempts in Q1 alone, a 35% increase on the same time last year. However, it is Europe that has become a major fraud hotspot. There were 50% more fraud attempts originating from the region than the US in the quarter, the firm claimed.
