It was a moment of tears and sorrow as six young children belonging to the same parents were allegedly poisoned to death by unknown people in the Ekwulumili autonomous community in Anambra State, Abia Facts reports.

It was gathered that the mother of the children had gone to the market but had prepared the food and kept for them so that they will eat when they return from school but someone sneaked into the house and poured poison into the food and when the kids returned home, they ate the food only to start complaining of stomach ache later.

Before they could be rushed to an hospital, they had all died, throwing the family and the community into mourning.

According to residents, the police have been invited and they have vowed to investigate the matter and make sure the culprits are brought to book

Residents of the areas noted that the tremor caused serious cracks on the walls of their buildings though no injury was reported.

It was learnt that in some of the impacted communities such as Igbogene and Akenfa in Bayelsa as well as Akinima, Akie-Oniso (Oruama), One Man Country and Mbiama – neighbouring communities in Rivers, many people who experienced it were yet to recover from the trauma.

There were heavy vibrations that lasted for some minutes during the incident which was said to have started at about 12 midnight.

A strange sight was witnessed in Akwa Ibom State where a woman allegedly turned into a snake during sex with her lover in a hotel.

The story of how a woman turned into a snake while having sex with a man inside a hotel room in Eket, Akwa Ibom State, may sound strange and rather out of this world, but a journalist based in the state, Chris Udoh, swore that it happened in real life and he was a witness to it.

A former Governor of Lagos State and a National Leader of the All Progressives Congress, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has vowed to deal with Senator Dino Melaye (APC-Kogi), if he dared beat his wife, Senator Oluremi Tinubu (APC-Lagos).

Melaye had on Tuesday reportedly vowed to beat Senator Tinubu during a closed-door session of the Senate over the forgery case against Principal Officers of the Senate.

Tinubu had expressed disapproval of the tactics suggested by Melaye, who was of the opinion that commencing impeachment proceedings against President Muhammadu Buhari will make the Executive back down on the trial.

Reacting to the development, Asiwaju Tinubu vowed to deal with Melaye if he took any untoward action against his wife.

Fifa president Gianni Infantino will today be interviewed by the governing body’s ethics committee following allegations he breached its code of ethics.
Infantino was expected to meet ethics investigator Robert Torres – possibly as early as Friday – as part of a preliminary probe into his conduct just four and a half months after succeeding Sepp Blatter as the most powerful man in football.

If there is sufficient evidence, a full investigation will be opened that could see Infantino provisionally suspended for up to 90 days.

Nigeria’s upper legislative chamber broke into an uproar today with some members threatening President Muhammad Buhari with impeachment, and Dino Melaye threatening to ‘impregnate’ Remi Tinubu, the wife of the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Leader, Saharareporters reports..

The Senators who met behind closed doors were incensed by the proposed trial of the leadership of the Senate for forgery.

Shortly after commencement of a plenary session, Senator Dino Melaye (APC Kogi West) said in his remarks that the Attorney General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami, must be brought before the Senate to be thoroughly grilled and humiliated for charging the Senate leadership with forgery in court.

Mr. Melaye called on the Senators in attendance to fight the presidency to a standstill. In his rant, he issued a wide variety of threats.

Recognized to speak, Senator Remi Tinubu (APC) Lagos Central said the Senate should not be reduced to a kindergarten where Senators could just issue childish threats, and called on Senators to close ranks and seek reconciliation amongst its members.

The Police at the Ilasan Division, Lekki, Lagos, Western Nigeria have arrested a Nigerian businesswoman, Onaivo Salihu, 30 for allegedly slapping a Chinese woman, Anugwon Chenshien Xu on her face during an argument over a minor accident at Shoprite Plaza, Lekki, Lagos.

After investigation, Salihu was arraigned before an Igbosere Magistrates’ Court, Lagos on a count charge of felony to with, unlawful assault and slapping.

The Police alleged that the defendant was arrested and arraigned in court following a complaint by Anugwon Chenshien Xu that Onaivo Salihu slapped her on her face during an argument when her vehicle allegedly scratched her vehicle at Shoprite Plaza, Lekki, Lagos.

Police said the offence is punishable under section 170 of the criminal law of Lagos State, 2011.

Salihu pleaded not guilty to the allegations when the charge was read to her in the open court.

Magistrate O. Owunmi admitted the defendant to bail in the sum of N100,000 with two sureties in like sum and adjourned the case till 26 July, 2016 for mention.

The couple was walking through the town of Fermo in the Marche region on Tuesday, when they were reportedly abused by the supporter of a local football club.

The Director-General, DG, National Youth Service Corps, NYSC, Brig.-Gen. Suleiman Kazaure, has described as shocking, the death of corps member, Ngozi Onyekwere, who was burnt to death in a fatal accident in Akwa Ibom state.

The late Ngozi, an Accounting graduate from the University of Port Harcourt, met her ill fate on June 23, after her vehicle, a Toyota Camry suddenly caught fire in Mbiokporo Nsit in Nsit Ibom Local Government Area, LGA of the state at about 3pm.

The 26-year-old was burnt beyond recognition while the driver of the vehicle and the commuter at the front sit reportedly escaped.

Her funeral, which held on Thursday in her home town in Imo state sent shivers down well wishers’ spines as carcass was laid to rest.

The Sierra Leone Deputy High Commissioner to Nigeria, Maj. Gen. Alfred Nelson (Rtd.), was on Friday, abducted by unknown persons along the Abuja-Kaduna expressway.

According to The Punch, the diplomat was on his way to honor an invitation by the military for a yet to be ascertained programme.
